Mulligans is a great neighborhood bar for all the Memphians. It’s located in a quiet area of downtown! The bartenders and servers are super, super sweet! Try their sandwiches! They’re all good!

Great value for the money in here. Mitch and Cindy are great bartenders. Came out from SF and was told that this joint was good to get in with the locals. Had a great time.

In a word, dirty. Slow service. Poor beer selection. The place needs a thorough cleaning from top to bottom. I have visited this location twice in the last year and that is too often.

Being from Chicago, I am giving this place five stars for the fact that they have sparkling wine, great stuffed mushrooms and that they let you smoke at the bar… something we haven’t experience since the smoking ban in our city. That being said, this was the first place we went to when we got into town during the«ice» storm since it was in walking distance. The burgers and fries were really nice, with the portions being very huge. Made the mistake of ordering the stuffed mushrooms with no idea how larger they would be… they were stuffed and fried and about the size of a hamburger bun! Hope to get back there later this week for dinner and smokes.

Very good place, if only because it’s out of the way. Easy parking and not crowded, at least best I can tell. A good burger and I highly recommend the Memphis Press sandwich. Smoke is the only downside.

They have the best chicken tenders around! Since I am the offical chicken tender reviewer I had to let everyone know about this place. The bar is a fun place to hang out and trivia night is also a lot of fun. The only down side is it can be smoky at times… there is really not a non smoking section.

I’m completely disappointed that in the 2 years I’ve lived here no one has ever recommended this hidden gem. Though it wasn’t so hidden prior to the Pyramid closing, it is pretty hidden now. I don’t find myself over in the Pinch district very often, and it is a shame as it seems there were some fabulous little spots once upon a time. I can only hope with the Bass Pro Shops coming in that this area will blossom again. Both my husband and I were pretty impressed with the food we had here. Yes, it’s bar grub, but it is really good bar grub. The fried pickles here are pure brilliance. BTW– fried pickles and pregnant ladies go together like peanut butter and jelly. Love them! I opted for my favorite, the Reuben and it was killer. The rye bread was perfectly toasted and fresh, loaded to the gills with meat, sauerkraut, thousand island and swiss. I can still taste it just thinking about it. With their sandwiches, you’ll get a choice of french fries, their signature, handmade potato chips or tater tots. I’m still a 10 year old at heart and always go for tater tots when it is an option. These were crunchy and perfect! I hate soggy tots! My husband was in the mood for wings and said these are original, crispy buffalo style. Perfect amount of sauce, perfectly cooked and paired with blue cheese dressing. He went on about them for the better part of the remainder of the afternoon. He was also pretty enamored by the side of handmade potato chips he orders. This place is pretty huge, and the bar is massive. Lots of places to chill out in a corner with some friends, or get up and dance if that’s your thing. We happened to stop by on «Fabulous 50s Night» and though we were the only patrons in the bar under the age of 55, it was pretty stellar to see such a huge crowd this age having a blast. They were dancing, drinking and smoking up a storm. Speaking of smoke, this was the only drawback and cost Tj’s an extra star. They still allow smoking inside. We almost left when we realized, but decided to suck it up. Again, almost left when we sat down and remembered how badly a bar/restaurant stinks when smoking is allowed– but again sucked it up. I’m glad we did, cuz the food was outstanding and I can totally see myself coming here more frequently once I’m not with child. Smelling like an ashtray for the remainder of the day really sucked, but every time I got angry about it I remembered my amazing Reuben and fried pickles…

Straightforward bar food — but the Corn Nuggets are great!

Great place to lunch downtown. Daily specials, patio for warmer days, good burgers — but avoid any plate that has green beans on it. Have to walk thru the bar to get to non-smoking but parking is plentiful and free. Trolly stop is right outside.

This bar/grill used to be a really happening late night spot in the Pinch district back when The Pyramid was open. But things have slowed down a good bit in that entire area, including T.J.‘s. But they do a good lunch business here and the food is surprisingly good. They cook up a mean burger and their Turkey Reuben is as good as you can get anywhere. Oh, and the parking is easy — another perk for any place downtown.

Mulligans is a great local Irish pub type bar. The food is good, a notch above standard pub grub– try the Ruben and fried pickles. It’s on the trolley line and used to be in a great area. It was a good bar area and a a great place to stop before a concert at the Pyramid. Now that the Pyramid is closed the area is somewhat desolate. But, there is hope for a come back with the promise of Bass Pro Shops occupying the Pyramid. It has a nice outdoor patio area and is the place to be on St. Patrick’s Day.

Great live band great service. I really enjoyed my time at Mulligans. It was also located close to the best hotel downtown, The Marriot. Thanks again.

When I lived in Memphis I hit up TJ Mulligan’s all the time to get my drink on before concerts at the Pyramid, for St. Patrick’s Day, or just to get my drink on on a regular weekend for the hell of it. It is your standard Irish themed pub basically. They have a good patio for the warm weather days and a party room you can reserve as well(their website says it is free to reserve too!). Menu has some Irish choices like the Reuben and some Memphis choices like the pulled pork… but I always got the fried pickles. How can you get better than fried pickles? They have $ 2 pints on Tuesdays and happy hour until 10pm on Friday! You know it is good when you find a Friday night happy hour! Also, the wait staff are always friendly and the last time I went in there a couple of years ago there were some of the same waitstaff that I used to see back in the day when I went to college. Clearly they love it too! Last time I went there though we had a serious problem… it was raining buckets and despite the staff calling a cab for us, no cab ever came to get us. But some nice ladies leaving the bar actually gave us a ride to our hotel just for the hell of it! So not only can you get your drink on for cheap, you can also meet some nice peeps!
