Careful Movers

Overall, reliable enough but we didn’t get the rockstar move we hoped for after reading others’ reviews. And we are glad we packed and transported our breakables ourselves. They are totally trustworthy guys, which is also worth a ton, but not all of them were super careful packers, their truck took a branch off a tree, they stood on the gas stove to pack our kitchen, and a few of our things were bent, crunched, or dinged. We had assumed (from all the reviews) that this would be an amazing move, but it wasn’t the best I’ve seen. You may be better off expecting a 3 star job and negotiating your way to a 5 star job by asking lots of questions and sharing your expectations very clearly upfront.

These guys couldn’t have been better. Donnie and his crew turned up right on time for a half day move that involved moving furniture and boxes to one house, and then moving similar items from there to a nearby storage facility. The team did their best to minimize time and complexity, and the move came in under the estimate. Needless to say, the guys were very *careful* with everything :) wrapping furniture in blankets and shrink wrap, and getting everything in and out of the houses with no damage to walls, floors, etc. I’d definitely recommend Careful Movers and plan to use them again when it’s time to empty the storage unit.

These people are the most honest, polite, and hard working people. We moved from Menlo Park to Manteca and had a very easy going move.
I would suggest you use this company.

I called this company Last Saturday and they were able to help me out on Mother’s Day. (last minute). They charged me 50.00 an hour per person, I asked for three guys for a 2 bedroom apartment. They were prompted, kind and helpful. They did take great care with my furniture. 2^nd floor and moved to a place with stairs. Understand all potential charges … I.e. Extra $$ for drive time … Boxes, They helped me put up a very large mirror. Super heavy. My brother in law drilled holes and screws. But they helped with lifting and measuring. A long day of moving … Came out to about $ 1,100.00
Although it was pricey. They saved me … Last minute. And all the lifting

I had the best experience with Careful Movers from my first call with Anthony to the move itself. Everything was with so much care and speed. It made the move so easy. My movers were DJ, Alberto, and Alex and I couldn’t have had a better team to load and unload my things. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!

We used Careful Movers to move a piano. Though it’s probably something that could have been done with a uHaul truck and friends, they came, carefully prepped the piano for the move. The piano arrived and was carefully unpacked. We would recommend and use again.

Absolutely wonderful experience with the crew at Careful Movers. DJ, Alberto, and Alejandro were all very friendly and helpful. They arrived exactly when they said they would, and the move took less time than estimated. They were very diligent and quick. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an easy and great experience.

Used them loooong time ago at the spur of the moment and they were able to make the move the next day for a small apartment going ~120 miles, and they were ridiculously cheaper then the others I called. Around $ 500

Had a great experience with Careful Movers start to finish. They responded very quickly to my email in-​query with a phone call and a quote. Come moving day, the two movers were very friendly and helpful, making sure all of our things were loaded and unloaded both quickly and safely. They gave us some tips on things that were not packed adequately, and were very liberal with the stretch wrap.
The entire process was pricey, and above the initial quote due to a long traffic jam, but overall the experience was so much easier than moving ourselves, I would definitely recommend it. Beyond that, these guys were better than anyone else we found in all regards.

Exceeded our expectation. It was our fifth move in 12 years, and this was by far the best experience with movers. Professional, polite, friendly, efficient, and most of all, very good communicators. They are indeed «careful» with their work too.
The highest credit goes to the hard-​working crew members Alejandro, Ivan, Alex, and the fantastic foreman Donny.
They made the otherwise stressful moving day quite pleasant for us.

Wonderful experience all around, from initial contact through moving day and the pick up of the e-​crates. Everyone that was involved was friendly and provided great service during our move from a 3^rd floor apartment to a 3 story town house. The moving crew worked at a very quick pace, but took extreme care in wrapping and protecting all of our furnishings. I had thought the stairs in the town house would slow things down, but they powered through and completed the move within the quoted time frame. Job well done to the moving crew!
We opted to use the company’s E-​crates rather than cardboard boxes. These crates were delivered a week prior to our move date and picked up from our new home a week after the move. The crates were far better than cardboard boxes — they were large, stackable, easy to pack and move on rolling bases and best of all, no cardboard to recycle our send to landfill. I would highly recommend using these crates and using this company for any move in the area.

We had DJ, Alberto, Albert, and Omar move us from second floor 2 bdr in Menlo Park to duplex in Redwood City. We packed all our stuff ourselves, the guys wrapped everything needed in blankets and plastic. The most efficient move of my life! Not a single broken/​cracked item, they asked questions, like where we want big items in new place, followed directions, worked fast. Very impressive! If you need to hire movers, call Anthony, who’s very pleasant to deal with!
ps. Don’t under estimate work to be done. Apartment that the guys were moving before us (we had afternoon appointment) did not prepare at all. Not only they made them late, they didn’t feed them lunch either! Are you kidding me, people? I got the guys food and drinks, gave them lunch (well, dinner at that point) break. And even with that, they’ve completed our move in exactly three hours!
Next time I have to move, Careful Movers are the ones I’m calling. They’ve got themselves a customer for life!

I called Careful Movers about a week before my move. I spoke with Anthony who was able to book my slot for the time I needed. Very helpful and I appreciated his quick responses. In order to get my moving slot I needed to give a credit card with a 150 $ deposit (in case you cancel day before or day of I believe)
Day of the move, Careful Movers arrived early, around 7:52AM for my move. I enjoyed that they were more than on time! The last moving company I hired was about 30 – 40 min late. I hired 4 movers: Donny, Charles, DJ and Jose. All very hard working gentlemen. They carefully packed up my belonging and used the packing materials I provided to move my things. They can also provide you materials if you wish, just costs a little bit more. They were also able to move my washer and dryer for a small fee. They also hooked them up at my new place.
The movers were constantly in communication with me, asking me where I wanted things and making sure I liked the placement. They offered to help me carry my tv and computers up the 4 flights of stairs when it looked like I was struggling to lift them! They took a small break for water/​rest at my old apartment and a lunch break after the truck was loaded up which was perfect because I had needed to run to the new apartment to get the keys. About halfway through the delivery of the furniture to my third floor apartment, my fiancé ran out to get them some gatorade to give them a refresher and a break. They worked extremely hard and I appreciate their help.
I paid cash so I could receive a 5% discount at the end. The cost was a little bit higher than the quote, but I had needed to use some of their boxing supplies and I also had to move my washer and dryer so it wasn’t a big deal.
All and all I had a great experience with Careful Movers and I would call and book them again for my next move, although I hope that isn’t too soon =)

Awesome group of guys!!! Love the service that I just received today. They came bright and early and we’re ready to help me move; even gave me some good suggestions on packing and organization. Last but not least can’t beat the price either!!!
For your moving needs definitely use them, they’re worth it!!!

Careful Movers were very easy to schedule with. Donny, Angel, and Charles were incredibly professional, hard working, and careful. They showed up on time and were nice and professional.
Something that I didn’t predict and Careful Movers never would have known without my telling them, was that my 2 story apartment was difficult to maneuver inside and set back very far from the street. So, normally, moving a 2 bedroom apartment wouldn’t take as long as mine did. But stairs and a long trip from the front door to the street meant a much longer than normal load time. So, my quote ended up being pretty inaccurate. I’m not complaining, just be sure to give lots of detail when requesting your quote so it is accurate! Also, don’t move during rush hour! That also added to my bill. A normally 30 min drive took over an hour.
The crew worked their butts off the entire time. Their truck maneuvering skills were also impressive! They got their truck into my new, extremely narrow driveway. The unload was super quick. They took direction well and took great care of my possessions.

We moved from downtown SF to the North Bay and had a wonderful experience with Careful Movers. We were only able to book the move one day ahead, but they were very helpful in setting us up with one of their top-​rate moving crews — Angel, Donnie, and Charles were hard-​working, friendly, professional and got us moved over in a breeze (as far as moving goes.!) Great work, would definitely recommend!

From Anthony on the phones to Enrique, Judas and team who helped us move up to 4x in the past three months… these guys are EXCELLENT. I found them on Unilocal and am so glad I went with this local firm v. a bigger SF or national vendor.
We truly hired them 4x in the past three months as we staged, sold and moved into a home. They were thorough and fast. They respect their time and mine and they were nice and polite.
Great team, great service. BTW guys I need to call you one more time… I have one tiny little move ask… so we’ve gotta be a record…
An UPDATE —
These guys are great. We purchased a piano on
and I called them to help move it to our home. After going through costs, they said it’s peak season and there are less expensive piano specific movers. They gave me a reco and said to call back if that didn’t work. Their reco did work and saved us a few hundred dollars. Thanks!

Hands down the best moving experience I’ve ever had. I had the pleasure of the «Super Crew» doing my move. These guys are real pros — courteous, careful, no-​nonsense and nonstop. I would have given them five stars, if it weren’t for the cost. This company a bit on the pricey side… Then again, you get what you pay for! I would rather have everything in one piece rather than scratched or broken…
I will not hesitate to use them again…

Without question the best moving company experience I’ve ever had. Donnie, Eric, Mason and Alejandro were right on time. They packed our entire house and loaded everything into a POD for transport. I was skeptical about the pay by hour pricing but these guys were hustling from the minute they arrived until the job was finished. Best of all, everything arrived safe and sound.
I recommend them without qualification.

I was trying to think of an opening line that is safe for work, and the only thing I could think of was remember in Pulp Fiction when Jules told Ringo to find his wallet, and he said «Which one is it?», and Jules said «It’s the one that says Bad M********** on it.»
That’s who Careful Movers are. They are Jules’ wallet. These guys are good. Real good. And fairly priced.
The Wife said that we needed movers for our in town move, and I wasn’t quite sure about it, but then I considered just how much stuff we have accumulated in our 8 years as a family and that I also just had shoulder surgery and I went with it. She found them on Unilocal and noticed they have perfect reviews (always a good sign).
They showed up on time the day before the move with a van full of boxes and packing materials, and after a few minutes introducing the house, they went to work.
They respected us and they respected our property. And they were Tasmanian Devils in each room, taking apart furniture (carefully), wrapping the furniture in blankets and plastic, packing boxes with lots of wrapping paper, and writing where they were going on each box. Thinking about it afterwards, the best thing you can do is clean your house as well as you can, and let them do everything. I foolishly thought I would do better by packing all of our books and dishes and instead I made a mess.
Another pointer… find a safe zone in your house that is empty and put everything that you need in the next couple of days there, otherwise it will be in a box.
The next day, they came with trucks and a crew and moved everything into our new home, then assembled the furniture where we wanted it. Unfortunately they don’t unpack the boxes, that chore is for you, but that’s not what they are there to do. I paid the bill and tipped them for a job well done.
Easily five stars, I’d go six if I could. They are excellent at what they do and they do it with pride.
