Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites

The hotel apparently doesn’t track the rooms cleaned as ours was skipped. When we called for towels since we hadn’t received any when they skipped our room cleaning, they said they would bring some up but never did. I had to go to the front desk and retrieve them 2 hours later. Expectations are usually low for a Best Western but this was ridiculous.

I can’t think of anything that could have been better about this hotel!!! My room was HUGE, clean and nicely furnished with a great little fridge, microwave and the rest of the standard items. In addition to free continental breakfast, they provide a free dinner every night with free tap or bottled beer and wine!!! The pool faces west so you get sun all the way till sunset. The staff was amazingly friendly… a guy got wasted drunk and threw up in the pool so they asked him to leave the pool, and of course he was quite argumentative, but the manager that was escorting him did an incredible job of calming him down and even carried all his stuff (two coolers and more) for him as he walked him back to his room. The front desk was remarkably friendly, and when my flight landed at the nearby airport (Phoenix-​Mesa Gateway), I called them to ask for a shuttle pick up, and before I even hung up the phone the driver was pulling up at the curb. Even the housekeepers were awesome and friendly. It’s located kitty-​corner from a Circle K that is pretty large with a great selection and a Red Box, and within a mile there’s shopping of all sorts including a Target, Fry’s, Walmart and plenty of restaurants, all of which are reachable by bus, and there’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Holy WOW I was BEYOND satisfied with this place!!!

Our room wasn’t the cleanest – floor needed vacuuming. Left the door hanger for «Maid Service» at 8:00 a.m. When we returned after 11 the room still had not been made up. Asked to have floor vacuumed and head of housekeeping came and did a quick once over. Had a bus load of high school age boys who monopolized the pool and hot tub until 10:45 p.m. No one said anything about all the noise and staying in the hot tub long past closing. Have to give credit to the fact the HVAC system worked great! Bed was EXTREMELY hard. We usually enjoy our stays at BW’s but this one was a joke!

I as well do not understand the bad reviews of this place. The complaint about the cow manure smell makes no sense to me, as it just seemed like a normal smell being in the outskirts.
Price was great, bfast was fine for what it was… They now offer free hamburgers in evening time during the week. Bar was fine, as I enjoyed my glass of wine late evening.
Room was nice and spacious… The A/​C did make weird noises, as it kept going on and off, and making a very loud noise when it turned on.
Overall, I will def stay here again if there is a need too.

I stayed here recently and found this to be an excptional property. It’s clean and well maintained. Rooms are fairly good size and the bed comfy. People keep complaining of the smell but this is only noticeable outside and only once in a while. They have a full included hot breakfast with much to choose from. Great coffee too. I don’t know where all these negative reviews come from. Seems people just love to complain and nit pick every detail. Front desk staff was great from what I experienced and I would know because I used to the front desk staff for a Marriott years ago. Only complaint I had was the A/​C. Seems I had to keep turning it down to cool the room and then it would get too cold, but I told them about this at checkout as to me it wasn’t that big of a deal. I’d stay here again.

This BW is right off the 202, and close enough to the 60, so even though the hotel itself is in the middle of a field so to speak, it is an easy drive to good places to eat and/​or shop.
Ok, my main beef is those: as good– and as warm-​looking the hotel was, lobby and room included, I went in being made to feel by the front desk staff as being unwelcomed there! First, I was standing around, leaning on my walker, for a few minutes, and I am sure one of the staff did see me walk in. But not a single staff member even greeted me with a «Welcome» and a «we’ll be right with you, Ma’am» or something of that sort.
When one of the two women did work with me, she did not smile, not even asked me how I was. And when I had to request that she change my room from a regular room on the 2^nd floor, to an accessible room on the 1^st room (I had thought it was obvious that since I was walking with a walker that I might need some special accommodations such as a walk-​in shower, etc. Duh!) – she definitely looked Annoyed (and yeah, I capitalized that on purpose).
As I noticed that there was a «no pets allowed» sign somewhere outside (I didn’t bring my puppy on this trip), I remarked to the same woman how disappointed I was that BW seemed to be doing away with their open to pets policy! She said it is because «they stink up the rooms like hell». What? I was too stunned to retort with an equally snarky comment, but nevertheless, this particular comment really hit a nerve with me. I am going to write to the chairman of Best Western and express to them my great disappointment about this no-​pet policy.
Will I be back to this BW hotel? Only if I have to (if I am going to a conference and this is the only hotel that offered the best price). Disappointed in my overall experience with this hotel)-:

My grandparents came to stay from Montana. They came to this motel because the other one closer to me was full.
They planned staying for 3 days. They checked out the next day. They said it was SO LOUD, and there was a constant dripping sound all night.
When they checking in they said the front desk lady was rude, when they asked about the location of the elevator. She said, «what you can’t see it!?»
When I can to pick them up and they were checking out, the front desk woman asked, «how was everything?»
Which my grandfather replied, «don’t even ask.»
She just looked at him and said nothing! Not I’m sorry, or was there something we could have done better?
Sad, that this place is in such a great location, just not the best place to stay.
Now I understand that my grandparents are older, only early 70s. They travel by car 90% of the time and have had their fair share of motel stays.

Although the Staff are very friendly and informative and helpful, I rate this Hotel low since it can definately provide better soaps and linen (the towels were not soft, stiff actually), and a less cheesey coffe in the room system. There is a Business Center inside which is too small to do any work in. The parking area is not kept clean, with the feral cat population roaming around and deficating in the lot, it;s not very pleasant. The hotel is relatively kept clean inside. My double Queen bed room was clean and decent sized, the beds, firm and comortable, tv was large enough to watch from the bed, but the overall ambiance of the Best Western Legacy Inn could afford to use some simple but effective upgrades to provide a more polished appearance. I did appreciate that the breakfast area was stocked with cereals, yogurts, fruit, bread and muffins, various juices and coffee at the UnGodly hour of 4:30am when some of us actually have to get up and start our day. I did not visit the Bar in the evenings. It is a small area attached to a dining area. I do not know what they serve besides wine and basic bottled beer.
The way that I see it, the Owner is being cheap considering the amount of people that I observed while staying here .The Hotel is in a perfect location, being close to the 202 Fwy and the large shopping center down the road. The center has several restaurants, shops, a Target Super store, and much more for the traveller.
I don’t require much when I travel-​especially for work– but the basics are met here with the exception of the issues I mentioned above. The pool is small and gated in a very small space behind the hotel. In this area, there are dairy farms nearby and as the previous Reviewers stated, there is a smell of manure and urine in the air, especially on warm days when there is little breeze. Gross and hard to relax alonside the pool, so be prepared.

Noisy, did I mention Noisy. Elevator reeked of smoke. Back entrance smelled like a sewer. Drunk man in elevator trying to pick up teenage girl. Breakfast worthless. Toilet paper roll 3 feet from toilet, short shower curtain, tiny TV. People honking horns in the lot early in the morning, constantly. Man next door came in at 2 am blared tv for 2 hours. Forr $ 120 stay somewhere else! Plenty of choices. Just because you paint an old hotel to look better, doesn’t make it better. It takes effort.

The place looked promising from the outside, but inside was disappointing. No bar or food service. The room had only two light fixtures, one of which was not working. A call to the front desk got us a speedy response to correct it, but in the end the light bulbs were so dim it was impossible to read or work. No light on the desk? Really? Come on, folks! You can do better than that. Invest a few bucks and buy some lamps! We would never have stayed here had we known, and never will again.

The hotel turned out to be more decent than most reviews posted. Room is a good size. Not even close to a 3-​star but we had a relaxing time here. OK for a night stay or two, but definitely not a perfect place to stay for family vacationing … It did feel like at home though. Just A few blocks from Target, Walmart. And about 100 feet from Circle K & RedBox.
Can’t complain for a $ 89 night stay.
Kids woke up seeing cows crossing outside the hotel window and how we were able to hook up (using Samsung Phone) to set up our son’s XBox and that was a huge PLUS. :-)

I love this place so much! I came here for Tough Mudder and as TM suggested I booked my room through them. I had my confirmation code and everything. I get to the hotel and it turns out that the people at TM didn’t contact the hotel. They didn’t have my reservation. But no worries. The guy at the desk came prepared and had put extra rooms on hold for instances such as this and he still have me the TM discount! They were super helpful and I am so grateful for their preparedness. The morning buffet is okay too with eggs, tea, and waffles.

This was my worst experience ever getting a room on Hotwire. My room was directly between the first floor front parking lot and the elevator directly outside the door.
the walls were so thin I could hear the guy in the next room snoring. the furniture, fixtures and atmosphere of the hotel was all cheap.
I could not believe it when a sewer odor penetrated the room from outside. The hotel is near some fields and perhaps the farmers fertilized the fields at night with manure… or else there was a sewer treatment plant nearby. The smell was so bad if you turned on your air conditioning it filled up your room. So I slept without any air conditioning
Do what the smart people do at this hotel. Run immediately for the exits.

Where do I start. No bartender the food is brought in from the local quick mart as indicated by the plastic bags behind the desk. No flexibility in rates unlike most best westerns. I am a registered member but this place is exceptionally horrid. The Lobby and elevator smells like someone farted for the last 10 days. Just avoid this weird place.
Turns out the fart smell is the hotel is located next to a cow pasture !!

Great price, beautiful hotel all around! I was so impressed. I felt comfortable the first night, which has never happened to me before while traveling. High ceilings, fairly new hotel (still smelled new), modern decorations, friendly staff. The only complaint I have is the walls are somewhat thin. We will for sure be staying here on our next trip to Queen Creek to visit family.

I had a three night stay here. at night time the smell of manure is just increadabe in the fields. I meet my brother from Tenn. here to stay. We need internet Wi-​Fi to compair our projects and retirements with. the first night I could piggy back other computers. The next night the clerck said the WiFi was working at the dest. I took the laptop to the desk and there was no WiFi there either. She gave me some phone numbers 1−877−237−8750. We talked for a 45 min to no availe did the Wi Fi work. the he gave me toshibas phone Number and I talked to them about an hour to no availe. So I put it up to my laptop was broken and needed repair as the toshiba consultant told me. I came back to Seattle. plugged my laptop in and guess what. MY LAPTOP WORKS AT HOME. This bestwester lost my enjoyment with my bother and cost me about 3 hours of vacation. I amn’t happy with this and don’t recommend this Best Western if you need your computer for business or to enjoy you computer with your loved ones. They do lie to you and keep telling you the system will ber up in one hour all the time I was there Unhappy in Seattle

Lets say you’re a Unilocal*executive, and the fuel gage on your private jet gets near E and the closest gas station is Williams Gateway/​Phoenix Mesa Airport. It’s late at night. The fueler has gone home. Now you, fuming because your path in life hit a wall, it’s 95 degrees at midnight, and you’ll have to spend the night in the Superstition Mountain boonies, kick a tire and hit your head on a wing..
Don’t worry. The Legacy Inn and Suites are so near, you can pull your unicycle out of the cargo box and pedal north up Power Road to this nice place for a traveler’s rest.
Ditto if you, like others, are finding this airport easier to use than Sky Harbor. Book your last night here and you’re out and to the airport, fresh as a smoothie.
It saved MY exhausted nether cheeks when my co-​workers wanted to drive halfway ‘crost Mesa to a hotel, then commute back in morning traffic for the day’s work. Todd checked the web and Legacy Inn was right up the road.
Good find Todd. Next time out, I’ll carry the heavy end of the plotter.

We booked this hotel as they’re the nearest to the Phx-​Mesa Gateway airport. Believe me, that is the ONLY advantage to staying here. First of all, we programmed our GPS to the address listed for the hotel, and it wasn’t in the GPS. After driving some extra miles, and figuring this out, since I’m somewhat familiar to the area, we finally made it, and arrived to check in around 9:00pm. When we told the front desk staff that the GPS hadn’t worked well to find them, they said (very flippantly) «Oh yeah, GPS can never find us.» Turns out that the posted address of the hotel is the MAILING address (’cause everyone need’s a hotels mailing address, right?!), and the physical location is in Gilbert (not Mesa), so the GPS can’t find them at the mailing address. Besides this irritation, and the staff apparently thinking this was quite funny, I then asked for a couple of extra pillows for our bed (as we both have some back problems, and need extra pillows to sleep comfortably.) I was told, «We don’t have extra pillows.» Huh? You’re a hotel, right? (No apology whatsoever, either.) We arrived in our room, and the temperature was STIFLING. It was well over 100*F in Phoenix, and the room was shut up tight with NO air on. We set our thermostat to 74*, and it ran non-​stop until 2:30 am to reach that temperature, as it was over 90* when we entered. The next morning, we went down for the complimentary breakfast, which was VERY ordinary. Nothing horrendous, but nothing special either. Oh, and their wifi worked in some areas of the room, and not in others, and when I called, I was told «There are no problems with the wifi» and got absolutely no help at all. I fly in and out of Phoenix multiple times each year, but I’ll be looking for somewhere else to stay next time. You should too…

I echo Cindy C.‘s glowing review of this hotel-​we stayed here before flying out of Mesa Airport (IWA) for a morning flight last weekend. It is the absolute-​best Best Western property I have ever used for a nightly nap and is VERY close to the airport (in a positive way, not in a negative/​noisy way). The staffers were very pleasant and the facility appearance resembled a few boutique-​hotels in which I have stayed previously. I can see where business-​travelers could be quite at home here. The free breakfast used Tazo teas to accompany an otherwise «normal» hotel-​with-​wafflemaker breakfast. The room was well-​decorated and apportioned, with an air conditioner which worked very well. The restroom had a heat lamp in it and the large bath tub had one of those «rain-​styled» showerheads so many people are adding to their showers these days. The in-​room refrigerator worked well; I did not try the microwave or coffee machine during my stay. The work-​out room had decent equipment (a treadmill, some weight machines, a set of hand-​weights going to 50#, and more) and did not smell of sweat as many can. The outdoor swimming pool was well-​kept, with a hot-​tub connected to it, allowing you to hop from hot-​tub-​to-​swimming-​pool without walking onto the pool deck; the water temperature for both was perfect. We did not utilize the hotel’s bar (located next to the breakfast area).
FWIW-​there was an area-​wide power blackout the morning we left the property which was not the fault of the property itself; all of the «fire doors» were closed in the hallways and there was no electricity in the hotel (and the surrounding Mesa area) – always remember to have a travel alarm clock in case this happens to you. We were able to easily navigate through the hallways to get to the ground floor and make our flight (we had been minutes from checking out from our visit when the outage occurred, so it did not matter to us). I only mention this because I do not know if this is a common Mesa-​area occurrence or not, and those who would have needed a 7:30 a.m. wake-​up call might not have gotten it due to the circumstances).

Could not believe we were in a Best Western. This hotel is only 2 miles from Williams Gate Airport, Allegiant Air. It is literally only 5 minutes away. Great for getting there at 5am for a 7am flight. We loved the place! It isn’t decorated like any other Best Western I have ever seen. Staff were lovely to work with, very helpful. THe owner’s brother was cooking on Friday AM, he came out to offer us a bean cake. He chatted and was super friendly. We will stay here again. Family in Mesa will bring us here more often as their health is failing.
