This Big O location started in 2003.

The Big O Tires story begins back in 1962, just as America’s new love affair with the automobile was hitting high gear. The market for replacement tires was exploding, and independent tire dealers found themselves struggling to compete in the face of low prices offered by major tire manufacturers’ own company stores. Big O’s founding fathers were a handful of progressive independent tire dealers who decided to band together to form a tire-​buying cooperative so that they could secure volume pricing and keep their customers happy. Their concept worked. In the years that followed, The Big O Tires co-​op evolved into a full-​fledged franchise as it continued to find innovative ways to harness the power of the collective to benefit independent dealerships and their customers.

Jim and Carol started this Big O location in 2003. They are proud parents and grandparents. They both love to wake up every day knowing that their customers get the finest tires and great vehicle service at the lowest prices possible.

Took my SUV to get a new tire, as they gave me my keys and I drove away, half a block down the street I noticed my car shaking. I pulled over and noticed the nuts on the tire were not even half way tightened. Luckily I had my tool to tighten it and drive back to the store to complain and have them tighten the nuts completely. it would’ve cost me more if I hadn’t checked it out. Anybody that goes here should check the work before leaving so something like this doesn’t continue to happen. These guys just lost a good customer.

Just don’t. I dealt with a Big O in Chandler for a couple of years so when I moved to Mesa I tried these folks. They found a seal leaking a bit (It left a drop or two, not enuff to worry about) in the transfer case and said $ 100 to fix plus the seal. Six! days later, I picked it up along with a bill for $ 1400. Imagine my surprise. I had good service from the other one so, like a dumba@@, I didn’t record the price and all of a sudden, that conversation never happened. Ended up paying $ 400 On the way home, it wouldn’t get fourth. They didn’t test drive it or check fluid level. I had them replace the parking brakes (written est) and they didn’t work. No one checked the adjustment or test drove it. All the work (after testing) had been good, so when a u-​joint started making noise, I took there. Recorded the est, of course. Didn’t make it two miles to home. Right, no test drive. Finally learned my lesson. I can’t say it enuff, it’s a graceless age. Record EVERY conversation. In answer to Jim’s comment, the work was done earlier this year. I sent the pertinent info to Jim and am waiting for him to update his comment to reflect it.

First of all I highly recommend that you call the Autozone that is right next door to this Big O and compare the price for parts between the two, you will be surprised at the price difference it’s usually about double and big o will try to fix things that don’t really need fixing.
I went to Big O Tires today because my coolant was leaking. They told me it was going to cost around $ 700 for parts and 2 hours of labor. They quoted me for a remanufactured water pump at $ 129 or a brand new one for $ 200 and an two belts that they recommended I get changed for $ 45 apiece. I called another shop and they quoted me $ 90 for a brand new water pump from autozone and labor $ 125. When I told this to the serviceman, Charlie, he said I understand you trying to shop around but my guys are certified and not tweeters or druggies. Not to say that’s who they are but for that price that probably what you’re getting an for me to make sure I get a receipt for the «brand new» pump. It’s a shame what this place get away with. By this was the general manager that talked to me this way. I’m pretty sure that he was trying to take advantage of me because I am a female and felt pretty dumb when I told him how much a water pump for my Cadillac CTS 2004 3.6 L engine. And you can look it up if you don’t believe me. So good luck getting a good deal if you go to this place theyre just looking to make their quota and commission sales for the month

Not sure if management or ownership has changed, but the last 2x I’ve been there, they take forever to do the work. 3hrs for an oil change is ridiculous, and that was on the racks, not waiting for others.
Last trip was only for wheel balance. I was told nobody is waiting ahead of me and should take 30−45min. Ok, so I take off for an hour and return to see my truck hasn’t been touched. They told me «somebody» must have put it in the back of the file, but they can do it right now! No thanks, on to another shop.

Came here first thing Friday morning to get a tire fixed. Had a nail in it. Had to get a new tire. They had to order it. Got it in stock in the afternoon. They got it on in 15 mins and I was out the door.

I went to this Big O because they had a really great coupon for a $ 17 oil change plus 40 point inspection. Positives are: They are very nice, the face to face service is good, and the wait wasn’t too long. Now… Here comes the negative part. When I arrived everything on my car was working fine. When I left my AC’s valve cap was missing, my AC was out of freon, AND my tires were not aligned properly which made my steering wheel shake terribly on the freeway. I’m sure that they did not do anything on purpose; but I do think there was a degree of negligence in there work when they checked out my car. I will not be returning.

I just moved here from cali, where I usually do my own maintenance but since I have no tools i decided to give this place a spin.
Expect a 1-​hour wait for an oil change and also be active in making sure that the service you requested was actually done.
Similar to many other reviews, they might forget to do something that you requested. Fortunately for me, it was just a tire rotation (which is no biggie) which is why I will dock off 1 star. (I can tell they didnt do it because my front 2 wheels were really dirty from brake dust, compared to the rears, and they were still there!)
Trevor, asst. manager, was a really cool guy and gave great service. So i’ll be coming back but next time i’ll make sure to double check the tech’s work!

I have to say that I am a business owner and have the potential of buying a lot of tires, but will not be buying anymore tires from this location and unfortunately they have put a bad taste in my mouth for other Big O Tires locations.
I had Michelin tires on my work van when I went in with a problem and I told the manager that I was working with that I wanted Michelin or Michelin comparable tires put back on. I guess the cheap Big O tire that they decided to put on he thought was sufficient. After 3 months I had one of the tires go out, and had to pay money to get a new tire put on and I decided to upgrade to a Mesa tire. Then 3 months later another tire and you guessed it, even though I had bought the extra insurance another fee to get another tire.
This was a disaster, I have since taken my van and got Michelin’s back on at the Discount tire at Greenfield and Baseline location and the sales guy couldn’t believe the crap tire that was on. We were guessing that i helped get the Manager a bonus buy selling their crap tire or something.
Big O, You suck and will never get my business and I will shout from the mountaintop how crappy of product and service I was provided.

FAILURE OF COMMUNICATIONS!
That was their excuse! I went to this Big O to get a tire fixed and rotate them. Tom, sales clerk. Charged me for a oil change that I never asked for. Nonetheless, I needed one so I didn’t say anything. I left with Tom telling me my tire had a nail and they plugged it. I left and went home. Two hours later as I was leaving for work, the same tire in the same location was nearly flat! That just told me that they didnt fix my tire OR rotate them! Gimped my car back to Big O, for them to tell me that the tire had a nail in a location that couldnt be fixed. Therefore they didn’t rotate them or plug the tire. So basically, I went to a flipping tire store for a oil change that I didnt ask for and nothing was done that I did asked for! Six workers standing around the lobby with nothing to do! So how could «Failure of Communications» happen? How could they let me leave with a nail still in my tire and tell me they fixed it! Women Beware of this Big O!

We will prefice this review by saying … I’m a girl … I don’t do auto repair very well!
I called this Big O and scheduled my truck for 2 tires and an oil change. When I got there I realized that this is no longer a Big O Tires, it’s called Hatch Tires. Same staff, they apparently just got out of the Big O franchise. Well, along with loosing the Big O name, they lost the phone number too. Big O took it with them at a different location and when they make appointments, they are not letting people know this.
So since I was already there, I figured I’d give these guys a try.
Very friendly and nice. Got me in that day and got my vehicle done at a reasonable price. They also gave me a printed estimate of things that it needs. Each job was itemized and totaled so I would know how much each one was if I wanted to just do one or two at a time. To me that means alot. Most places see a woman and try to sell them on getting everything under the sun done if it needs it or not. At least now if I want I can take it somewhere else and compare.

I’m extremely weary of any automotive shop… you all know they have a tendency to do whatever they can, whenever they can, to bleed all of your money out of you. This is one of the first shops that I’ve seen the opposite. I was at work one day and as I was leaving, I found my car in the parking garage with a flat tire. This was the closest, and the only thing I had to go by in my decision. What great luck that was!
I brought my car in, they said that they could easily patch the tire, but I asked them to replace it since the tire was getting worn. They reminded me of the recommendation to get 2 tires changed at the same time for the sake of balance (i think), so I did. They finished the service very quickly, which was great after 12.5 hours of work. Then, as I was paying, they let me know that their warranty covers the car to be brought back in for FREE rotations and balancing, which I did. They did a free car inspection and found nothing wrong with the alignment (or anything else they checked) which shocked me. I was waiting for the laundry list of things that needed to be fixed and the huge price estimate that would go along with it. But, nope… they were honest and upfront. I’ll continue to use this location for all of my tire needs :)
