Low Budget Movers

Very pleased with Low Budget Movers in Mesa AZ from the first phone call. Gave me complete information on all charges and fees very clearly, much better than other companies. Friendly and professional. Confirmed job online and again day before job. Rob and Leroy were prompt, careful, efficient and very nice to my 93-​year-​old mom. No hidden fees at the end. I would definitely call them again.

This review is going to be long. I would be hard pressed to ever use Low Budget Movers again. We contacted them via their website approximately 2 weeks prior to our move. We were moving about a mile. We had a 3 bedroom home to move but figured with the lack of distance we would ask for packing service to help eliminate some of the stress on ourselves. This move was a last minute decision for us, so the packing service was highly important. We spoke to Brian and he quoted us $ 85/​hour for 2 guys (the same price for packing and moving). We were told they would show up Thursday around 1pm to pack and then move us on Friday at 7am.
We purchased a lot of boxes ourselves as the cost from Low Budget Movers was $ 3.50 per box. We knew we could get them cheaper elsewhere so we purchased about 50 boxes ourselves, tape and packing paper. Thursday came around and we had done very little packing because we knew we would be paying them to do so. We began packing just to get started knowing that the movers would finish the job when they showed up at 1pm. Well, 1:00 came and went. I called Brian at 1:30 to get an ETA and was told that the guys were running behind from their previous job and would be at our home by 3:00. So we continued packing. By 4pm, we still hadn’t seen anyone from this company and so I once again called and spoke with Joe. He stated the packers should be there by 5pm. Again, we continued packing and taking numerous trips ourselves to our new home. I called Joe again at 5:30 and this time was told they should be there in 30 minutes. Finally at 7:50pm, two guys pulled up to our home. These two guys told us that they had just been told about the job an hour before and had spent the entire day moving a 4 bedroom house. WTH??? How were you just told about a job that was suppose to be started 7 hours earlier? Well these guys walked through and saw that we had done about 90% of the packing in the house and said that a «fresh» crew would be able to knock out the rest in the morning no problem. Ryan and Kathel told us not to pack anymore, so we finally quit for the night. They indicated that they would most likely be part of the morning crew so they left. No packing was done and they were there approximately 10 minutes.
The next morning we were scheduled for the movers to be at our home at 7:00am. So we got up early and woke up our 3 kids at 6:30 to make sure they were up and out of the way for the movers. The movers didn’t show up until 8:15am. I was in shock. I have moved numerous times, many times cross country and I have never had a moving company show up this late, especially when they didn’t have a prior job. The two movers from the previous evening were nowhere in sight and so we had to explain everything that had transpired the day prior. Sam and J.R. were ready to get moving but realized that there was still quite a bit of packing left to be done. So at about 9:00am, Joe (manager) and 4 guys showed up. We had 6 guys working on our move for about 2 hours due to all the packing that wasn’t done the prior day. We were only charged the $ 85/​hour that we were quoted but the lack of professionalism was still fresh in our minds.
Due to the need to continue packing, our move wasn’t completed until 5:30pm. Sam was great and took off the time for needing to change trucks when more guys arrived as well as didn’t charge us for the supplies they had to use to complete our move.
The only other complaints I have are the lack of actual professional packers and lack of property damage controls (both household items and the actual house). I was surprised to see a lack of padded doorways to avoid damaging walls or door frames as furniture was moved out (or when they were moving furniture into our new home). Nothing was laid down to protect the carpet of our new home while they wheeled 1 – 2 dollies at a time through our living room and up our stairs. Many items were packed so hastily that they were broken. The movers didn’t even bother using garment boxes for our clothing. My wife had a $ 300 dress wadded up into a ball and shoved into a regular moving box. We had numerous dress suits and evening dresses shoved into boxes without a thought. These items were already in garment bags hanging in our closet so that alone should have been an indication that these didn’t go into normal moving box. This is just unacceptable service.
We made many trips ourselves with numerous boxes and breakables. I can’t imagine the items we would have lost had Low Budget Movers been allowed to handle them. In the rush and attempt to only use one truckload, many items were left in our garage as well as the backyard. We had many garage items just thrown into the truck without being in a box and now they are broken. While we appreciated Sam and J.R., the overall management of our move was a mess. I am giving this company 2 stars rather than 1 simply because Sam and J.R. tried their best with very limited support.

I give the guys who moved me 5 stars but the customer service from Brian could be better. I wasn’t told if I paid with credit/​debit that I would be charged 4% interest. I set up the service by phone and they took my debit to hold the job but never notified me of the charge until the move. Brian the owner could have responded better than he did when I told him I was upset about not being told of the fee. The fee wasn’t a lot but it’s nice to know before hand so I’m not surprised. I hope they make it a point to tell customers of the charge prior to the day of move so they know what to expect.

Excellent, I would highly recommend them. Showed up on time, handled my belonging with care. Derek and Leroy were very professional.

I highly recommend this company. They made our move as easy as possible. Brian the boss was very easy to deal with and his estimate was spot on with no extra charges. Sam and Ruben were great. Very hard workers as they loaded moved and unloaded our 2200 sq.ft. house in 3.5 hrs. No slackers here.

The movers were very nice and I’d like to give a better review, however, it took longer than we all anticipated to complete the move despite the estimate in which I disclosed accurately the details of the move prior to the booking. I realized after the «72-​hour» claim period that the movers had broken several of my dresser drawer handles which had been blocked from view by boxes being placed in front of the damaged drawers. My TV was not hooked up within the 72 hours and there was a strange shadow on the screen that wasn’t there before the move. They almost dropped my baby grand piano on top of one of the movers. I went to clean the prized possession (after the 72 hour claim window) and realized that something was definitely wrong with the piano. IT IS ALSO DAMAGED. Not sure what I’m going to be out in repair costs, but this was definitely a much more expensive move than planned.

Derek and Nick did such a phenomenal job! Not only were they quick and efficient, they were extremely professional and handled our furniture with care. I highly recommend this company! Thank you for making our move a positive experience!

Derrick and Louis were amazing today helping me move. They were super efficient and kept their word regarding fulfilling the quotes given to me. I have been burned by movers before so I will be using them Again !!!

My wife and I do not often write reviews for the products or services we use however for the way we were treated by low budget movers from the first call was far above what was expected. The person who answered the phone was in fact the owner just as he says on the videos on the website. We got a quote for much lower price than several other companies. They called the day before to confirm. Showed up 15 min early. We’re able to move our two bedroom one bath apt to our storage in two hours complete. Also there are no hidden charges or fees. Just the straight hourly rate. Mind you we worked hard to make sure everything was in boxes and ready to be moved. The crew came and was ready to work. They did a great job and will be using them again when our house is ready to be moved into. Also we recommend requesting Rob and RJ a great crew.

We had the best experience with Low Budget Movers today. Very friendly excellent customer service from both the movers and the office staff. Extremely affordable and super fast. Thanks for making our move a breeze!

I just did a heavy bedroom move and had to research to find the right movers. The guys that moved my furniture were great! They took really good care of my furniture-​loaded and unloaded professionally and were timely. There are no hidden cost with this company and I would use them again.

We had two small moves and two very short time frames. We had four movers total help us (two each time) and all four were nice, polite, punctual, strong and efficient. I would highly recommend Low Budget Movers anytime.

The best moving company we have ever dealt with by far! The owner, Brian Meyers, was very knowledgeable and always available when I had a question. The movers that he sent us, Jake and Joe, were on time, courteous, hardworking and extremely careful with our belongings, always knew where everything was packed (and everything was very carefully packed).
The move was totally organized and on schedule; we paid just what we were quoted, no surprises added on.
i would recommend this company without hesitation and would use them again in a heartbeat. Honest and loyal company and staff.

I requested a quote late on a Saturday night. I received an instant text message, followed by a phone call and then an email. I set up the appointment and they arrived on time and worked hard the entire move to make sure that we did not get billed for any down time. They were super respectful and professional. They took great care in making sure that none of our items were damaged in the move and made us aware of potential issues with moving certain things. They were awesome and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

From my first phone call, taking with the owner, to the actual move with two men who knew how to do it and worked hard non-stop…I knew I had called the right company. Due to reasons I shouldn’t get into, these guys have moved me twice in a year… AND I’m giving them a call today for another move. They are located out of Tucson, but have business down here frequently. I’ve called them last minute, and they’ve somehow been able to fit me in, and do a great job! I’m not quite sure how I found them. I think it was a referral from another moving company. The owner is great, and his workers are fast, reliable and actually bring tools with them to help set up a bed or other furniture. First time I’ve seen a toolbox brought with a discount mover! AND they are extremely reasonable. Least expensive I’ve found, and not creepy like some of the Craigslist movers. I highly recommend them!

You can depend on these guys! Rob & Reuben did a fantastic job maneuvering through 3 locations picking up furniture and items to be moved from Fountain Hills, to the West side. They arrived on time and got right to work. They did an amazing job protecting items. Rob has a great knack for organizing so that things go on the truck or in storage in way that is safe and compact. They listened well and asked where you wanted things to go upon delivery and worked very hard the entire time. I also noticed that they took good care of their own items going back on the truck. The owner Brian was very professional. His insurance company sent me a copy of his coverage which was rather extensive and assured me that any damages to my items would be covered in the policy. Moving is a big job, finding a company that is trustworthy, covered properly, and priced well, and has good workers, is another job. That is why I am writing this review today. If it were my company, I would appreciate being recognized for doing a good job running my business. So go Brian and team; I wish you the best of luck in growing your business. You deserve it! It just doesn’t get any better than these guys! From our initial contact, to the last piece of furniture and boxes unloaded, this is the company you want to trust with your home and treasures. Brian scheduled the move and rescheduled when we didn’t close when we anticipated. The crew of two showed up on time, and worked like crazy. They didn’t stop once in 8.5 hours, except to drive to our new home. Every piece was put where we asked, and not one casualty. Clint and Joseph are kind, congenial and professional. Not that we want to move again any time soon, but if we did, we would call Brian, Clint and Joseph.
