My son goes to this school. The Mesa school district decided to stop outsourcing kids with disabilities. They now have this school called SHARP. We moved from Gilbert, Az and while we lives there they paid for him to go to Chrysalis Academy in Tempe, Az. My son has a lot of awkward behaviors like rumination(vomiting). While at Chrysalis they reduced his vomiting by 95%. SHARP does not look for his best interest and his vomiting has returned full blast now. Not to mention that my son is nonverbal. He cannot tell us if they are being mean to him. SHARP has my son doing work like anatomy of the human body. I would rather they helped him learn how to communicate instead of showing him how food digests. The school sends home reports daily that show my son being in the 6th grade but everyone that knows my son knows that he needs to learn the basics of living not algebraic expressions and the like. They always over exaggerate what he can accomplish. They use hand over hand method and act like he is at a certain standard. I believe they do this to pad the stats on him to make the school look good. We are applying for a state scholarship to send him back to Chrysalis Academy. By the way, the teachers and entire staff at Chrysalis really do care and do not fake my sons academics.
