Metry Cab Service

Tried to give this business another chance and the experience was ruined before I even stepped in the cab lol. The man who answers the phone had the worst attitude and snippiest tone. Just terrible

Can’t really complain about the service. He was at the house about 10 minutes prior to pick up time. Car was clean and he got me to the airport about as fast as I would get there myself.
I’ve used them several other times in the past with similar experiences.

I called and was told ten minutes – they came in ten minutes. Very nice, driver was nice. And great prices.

They are typically always prompt with service despite the dispatcher usually being remarkably unfriendly. My main hang-​up here is that it’s always an issue using a credit card in 2015. Jefferson Parish was against the proliferation of Über, and yet I’m still being berated by a cab driver for having to manually write down my credit card information because they can’t seem to mandate having a smart phone and a $ 15 card reader.
Neither the surly dispatcher nor paying with a card is an issue with Über.

I called the night prior for a 6am pick up to the airport. At 3 minutes after 6am I received a call that the cab was within 5 minutes away. I thought that was very courteous and professional so I wasn’t too upset. However, that was an underestimation on their part and the cab got to me at 6:20. The driver was apologetic so I give him credit for that but when going to the airport, time is a factor. I did make my flight on time, but luckily I had done all the pre-​check in stuff and wasn’t checking in luggage. If I had been, who knows, I might not have made my flight. From other reviews, it seems timeliness is a huge problem for Metry Cab Co. With Über gaining traction, I would hope this gets addressed.

I have been having an issue with my car recently and decided to hand it over today to be repaired, I was DONE!
I called at the last minute asking for a ride, and the dispatcher told me 10 minutes. Danny showed up in exactly 10 minutes. He was friendly and quick. Having done this with no prior planning, they were there when I needed them. Thank you so very much.

Terrible. Called last night to book a cab for 5.15 a.m., made it clear that I was headed to the airport and had a flight to catch. When I called this morning to ask where they were at 5.25 they said the driver was 10 minutes away. No apology. I gave them fair warning that if they weren’t there in 10 minutes I was gone. At 5.40 they called to say the driver was there, a grand 25 minutes late. Again, no apology. At that point I had decided to drive myself (and pay more for parking than I would have paid for the cab) because I couldn’t risk missing my flight over an unreliable company. The guy got pissed I had left. Well then don’t be 25 minutes late to drive someone to the airport!
The response below does offer an apology so I’ll remove the 1-​star rating, but I do think you could provide that warning of a 15 minute window when I call to make a booking and it’s clear that it’s for an early morning flight. And I left my house at 5.35, not a minute earlier and there was no cab there at 5.33…

I hope Über comes out to Metairie and either causes this company to show up — or at least call — or to just be done. Was ambivalent about Über until now.
Called, told 10 – 30 minutes but only after I asked. Asked if they would text. «No, we’ll call.» Am hour later, still nothing.
Getting a nice walk though.

Rude, rude, rude! I work for a law firm and a client of ours requested that I call a cab to take her to the airport from our office. She was part of a large group so I didn’t have her name I was hung up on not just once but twice by the rudest person. I couldn’t believe the bad attitude and the nerve to hang up on someone. After I was hung up on the second time I called Service cab who were extremely friendly and on time. I crossed out the Metry Cab number at the front desk so that we’ll never make the mistake of calling them again!

Christine was right on time even though it was a big festival weekend. She was pleasant and up beat. She got us as close as she could to our destination and made sure we understood how to get the last few blocks! Cab was clean and smelled fresh. Will use this company every time.

Long story short, I ordered a cab, my friend got a call that his family member had died, so I had to call the company back and ask them to cancel it. My friend told me a couple minutes later that I should still call for the cab. I felt horrible for having to call again after I just cancelled, but I called back.
Whoever I talked with on the phone wasn’t friendly from the first sentence in the first phone call that we had, and as time went on, his patience deteriorated even farther. I didn’t necessarily blame him for that, and was going to tip the cab driver lots for messing up. But basically I was hung up on every time I called, minus the first. (The first time I called was for the cab initially, the second was to cancel, the third time was to call for a cab again, and the fourth was to ask for an update for the location of the cab, after waiting thirty minutes after the third call.)
After waiting thirty minutes after the third call, and being hung up on with unclear information (making me think that he was pulling my leg and cancelled the cab himself), I decided to call another cab company. This second company came within 10 minutes, with a friendly driver. He took us to our location, and about 10 minutes after we were at our location I got a phone call from Metry Cab.
It was the driver who ended up going to the hotel (again, I thought there wasn’t one coming after being hung up on). I explained, painfully, that my friends and I were already at our destination. In his (understandable) frustration he said with an attitude that «30 minutes isn’t long for a cab.» Well, he may have been right, but I called another cab company, it arrived, got the drive, and got to my location by the time Metry got to my hotel.
As I’ve been trying to get across, I was absolutely in the wrong, and felt horrible about it. I remained calm and was going to make it up to the driver who I messed up. But, with their extreme lack of decorum, I was happy that I took my business elsewhere in the end.

I called the night before to reserve a taxi for a 6am flight. Driver was right on time, pretty talkative, and a very nice guy.

Like all NOLA cab companies, there’s a good chance they just won’t show up, and certainly not in a timely fashion. We waited over an hour at the hotel. Worse, the front desk called twice for updates and the dispatcher insisted he was «right around the corner» and «pulling up now», clearly just plain lies.
Car was also old, dirty, and had no air.

Larry is bringing us to the port for our cruise and he is so fantastic. He must have been a historical tour guide in a past life. So polite and friendly and he knows so much about New Orleans.

Called the dispatcher at 8 to get a pickup from my house at 9am. I gave him my address and destination as well as pickup time. The cab driver called me at 845AM to ask me where I was. I gave him my address and he said he was about 35 min away! He ultimately showed up 15 min late but I don’t blame the driver, it was obviously the dispatcher’s fault. The cars do not have a credit card reader or printer as well. I have to get a receipt for my job so he hand wrote one. After I was dropped off I had to find an ATM at my destination which was aggravating. I just moved from the NY/​NJ area and I guess I got spoiled with the taxis up there. Looking forward to Über and Lyft joining the market. The driver was friendly though.

On many occasion the guy who answered the phone complained about my accent. I always waited at least 45 minutes. The last time I called to complained that I had waited for 2 hours! The guy told me to go f… Myself and go back to where the hell I came from! It was the Last time I ever called this company.

Worst service ever. I’ve been waiting for 2 hours and still no taxi. If it weren’t for the occasional rain, I could have walked home 2x by now. Never again will I call this company!

Great service. I recommend them and will definitely use them again. I called last night to arrange a 4:45 am pick up to go to the airport. The dispatcher was very kind and confirmed my address and time. I called at 4:20am this morning just to confirm my pick up and the dispatcher said the driver was in route. Driver arrived 10 mins early. I made it to the airport on time and the driver was friendly. Thanks, Metry Cab for easing my transportation worries for my early morning flight.
