Business Owner

Daniel DelCastillo has been practicing dentistry for 20 years. He is married & has two young daughters. A native of Cuba, he left at age two and grew up on Miami Beach. He attended Hebrew Academy and Miami Beach Senior High School.

Daniel’s college career started at the University of Miami. He attended the University of Florida College of Dentistry and completed a residency program at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. DelCastillo continues to devote over 100 hours in educational courses in order to keep up with all of the latest advances in dentistry. He has extensive training in restoring implant dentistry and oral surgery. He has added the benefit of digital photography to his practice for cosmetic imaging.

His participation in Donated Dental Services, Give Kids a Smile, and fund raising missions such as Climb for a Cause to benefit Operation Smile has made him a pillar in his community.

During off time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

Terrible service. They changed my first appointment three times and then gave me the wrong time. When I arrive at the time I was told, I’m told I’m going to have to wait 2 hours. And when I express my disappointment about it, I’m told to better leave, that if I don’t like the way they work, I better go somewhere else (receptionist name: Hilda). Unbelievable. Don’t waste your time trying to go there.

I’ve been to the office twice. I have tried to go about five times. The phone is often unattended, and there is a prompt to leave a message that has never been returned. They like to market by email, which is fine, but the email prompts you to ‘make an appointment’, which I have also tried to do unsuccessfully.
The office VM prompts you to phone Dr. Del Castillo if you have an urgent matter. I did and left a message saying that I wanted to schedule an appointment and his staff was inept. Shortly thereafter an office person phoned me screaming… I informed her that I was a patient and that as a customer, she should have a little more respect.
She laughed at me.
That’s all you really need to know. Skip this place, they are not cheap, they are in a really cruddy building, etc.

I did not see Dr Daniel DelCastillo but I did see Alexandra the dental hygienist. I can say that she was so incredibly thorough on her cleaning. I am 53 and I am VERY bad about flossing, I can only imagine that I am a dental hygienist nightmare. Alexandra just put on her armor… goggles, mask, etc… and dug in. She cleaned my teeth for what seemed like an hour. She did an amazing job. I actually learned a few new tricks… massage your gums… this stimulates them and keeps them healthy.
If you need a cleaning you must go to see Alexandra. She is great at her job!

I haven’t even got a chance to check on the dentist’s professionalism, however, judging by his staff I can tell his policy deserves a «F» — The receptionist refused to make me an appointment as a new patient SIMPLY BECAUSE I use SOLTISCE — AvMed as insurance. They said they won’t take new patients under the policy. It does not make any sense. It means they are there for the money only, and AvMed certainly pays less. So… why are they still «accepting» the insurance then? It would be better just to cancel their agreement instead of refusing patients to come for treatment.

I have been going to Dr. Del Castillo for years almost 5 to be exact. Overall he is a very good dentist I have never had a problem everything is always professional. My last visit was very disappointing. First he tried to fix my fillings and then said he may have not been able to complete the job so he sent me to another dentist; I have had other dentists in the past work on this tooth without any problem. What is worse though is that since he couldn’t properly get into my mouth –to work just for a filling mind you– my jaw now clicks because of him trying to open it so wide. I am not the first to experience this with him. My friend who first told me about him stopped going to him because he did the same to her– she now has TMJ.

I have been going to Dr Castillo for the last 2 years… he is a good dentist but his office manager is his anchille’s heel. She is rude, abrasive and never apologies to you, as the customer, when she is wrong.
I am a paying customer, and I don’t appreciate her speaking to me like I’m 12 years old … so rude with her responses when I ask questions relating to cost and their services.
Today was my limit to put up with her rudeness… as good as Dr Castillo is. its not worth the agreviation to deal with his rude employee!

Dr DelCastillo is an experienced Dentist and knows how to fix your problems before they become worse. The staff is very knowledgable as well. The office is nicely decorated and clean. I love the tvs high up near the ceiling so that you can watch while your teeth are being worked on.

I called to make an appointment here based on the two good reviews I read on Unilocal and I’m sorry to say I do not agree with their praises. The receptionist was nice on the phone but everything went downhill after that. This office requires a consultation before a cleaning or any other type of appointment. They did not tell me there was a fee for this consultation prior– which turned out to be $ 150 (without insurance)!! The receptionist gave me a bit of an attitude when I was there and wouldn’t tell me how much they charge for a cleaning until after the consultation. I refused and walked out. Still looking for a good dentist in Miami…

I’m picky about dentists and have had trouble finding a general dentist that I like consistently for YEARS. Since I’m all about convenience I needed someone on the beach near me so I would actually make it to my appointment, I found this dr’s listing through my insurance company and looked at his website. After speaking with the front office I made my first appointment and was pleased with everything! His staff, the location and the dentist himself was friendly and inviting. This was over 18 months ago and so far have made it to 3 cleanings and today had a filling replaced.
I like that if I have an appointment for a certain time I never wait for more than a few minutes to be seen. JD is right. they send me emails, call or even send me text reminders for my appointments. There is plenty of street parking available and there is a free lot in the back of the building but I’ve only been able to park there once, it is usually full. I have very good dental insurance so I’ve never had an issue with billing or payment. I do like that they submit my claims to my insurance company right away not months later.
I was nervous about getting my filling replaced today since I had a bad experience a few years back with another «dentist» but his assistant listened to my concerns, spoke to him and everything went great and painless. Extremely happy with his office.

I’ve been to at least three different dentists in different parts of the country, but this one has become my favorite in terms of friendliness, pricing (they’re all expensive anyways — just get insurance), and ambience. The sunny yellow walls and windows in the small room fronting the green palms (it’s on the 3rd floor) or the colors of Miami Beach definitely gives this place an unique flavor.
Each room is staffed with a TV for your amusement should you ever be bored by your pain. However, they take pain very considerably so you shouldn’t experience a lot of pain.
They’re good with reminding the customers via email, regular mail, and so forth. They never forget to give a thank you note, a phone call, and you even can confirm your appointments online.
On top of that, they (both assistants and dentists) take each tooth seriously. That’s what made this place stand out above the rest in my opinion.
