Flow-Tech Air Conditioning

I bought my a/​c from Flow-​Tech 9 years ago and each time I’ve needed assistance, they’ve been there. They’re always on time, professional, and efficient. Their techs are wonderful and Melissa, at their office, is amazing. If you need an a/​c company, I highly recommend them.

Simply the best. Friendly and professional, they take the time to do it right and their engineering knowledge is tops. We needed to replace our entire system, including duct work. Never knew that AC could work this well. We recommend them all the time with complete confidence.

I encountered Mario with Flow-​Tech when I was buying a house–
The bank tried to require us to install an AC system prior to closing.
We felt uncomfortable with this, but as we’d already put time and money into the process,
and were going to have to install AC anyway, we decided to comply.
After getting three quotes, we went with Flow-​Tech. When Mario went up in the crawlspace to measure and draw up the plans for the city, he noticed that the electric seemed… wrong.
Long story short, thanks to Mario,
and not at all to our shitty realtor, property inspector, or BB&T,
we found that nothing was done to code, the property had loads of code violations, open permits, and a lien on the property.
Flow-​tech could have proceeded with the installation, made his money,
and we would have been stuck with the rotten egg house and all its costly problems.
The other two AC guys saw the same issues and said nothing.

Excellent service and result. These guys went above and beyond to repair & seal a very hard to reach duct supply plenum that was causing dirty air to enter our home. They did a great job.

Complete joke. Cancelled appointment last minute claiming they couldn’t find parking. There was an empty service parking lane plus a street full of parking. Should have called somewhere else and not waited for these people. Now I have to make appointment somewhere else and continue be without AC

Great company. The gals in the office are competent, fair and explain the billing charges clearly. The repairmen came quickly, diagnosed the problem accurately and even suggested a way in which I may not need their services. Wow. When was the last time you saw a company do that. I highly recommend them.

Having many 5 stars reviews motivated me to choose this company. They are very professional and they don’t measure any effort to solve the problem. I’ve called them two times at 8:00am and at 9:00am the technician was already at my house. You may ask for Technician named Radael that was patient and took the time to explain every single question I had. I hope not to have issues with my AC unit and I recommend Flow-​Tech.

My air conditioner was having trouble keeping up with the summer heat and I had a big party coming up so I wanted to get my AC serviced to make sure we didn’t have 50 people sweating to death in my house. Looking through Unilocal I noticed all of the 5 star ratings for this place so I gave them a call.
The lady I spoke to was very nice. Her system was updating so she couldn’t tell me when a tech would be able to come, but he got here by noon which was fine. It was a $ 90 diagnostic charge, but if I got service from them they would apply it towards that. Steep, but I was fully expecting to use them based on the Unilocal reviews so I said okay.
When the tech got here he reminded me that there was a $ 75 diagnostic fee. Then he looked at me and said ‘or was it $ 90?’. Not wanting to worry about $ 15 and still expecting to use them I let him off the hook and told him they said $ 90 and I would pay it. Not sure what the different rates were about, but that was my first clue that maybe something wasn’t right.
After a little while of poking around the tech came to me with a capacitor in his hand telling me it was ‘empty.’ I knew the condenser fan was having problems starting back up between cycles but I doubted that was the reason i was having that much trouble with the AC. He said it was going to be $ 225 to replace it, but he recommends I replace the entire system because it was old. It IS 20 years old and I know I needed one soon, but I wasn’t sure I needed it just yet.
The capacitor for the condenser fan costs $ 6 at a place down the street, and it takes 2 minutes to install; unplug 2 wires from the old one and plug them in the new one. In fact, it literally would not have taken any additional labor other than finding the part on his truck, because he already had the old one out and had to put it back. $ 225 for that? No.
So I declined that service and asked for a quote on a new system. Later that night I got a quote from them for $ 5300 for a new system. It was for a Trane system so it was probably an okay price.
However, in the mean time another tech from another company came and looked at it, and within 5 minutes told me that my coil was completely restricted and needed to be cleaned. Also part of the access panel on the air handler was missing and was sucking hot air and dirt in from the garage. I had a look at the coil, and saw that it was completely caked with dirt.
I know checking the coil is pretty much a standard diagnostic for any AC service, and apparently the Flow Tech guy didn’t even look at it. In fact after reflection I realized he didn’t even check my air filter, which is inside the house that he never came in.
I replaced the capacitor myself in 2 minutes, and the other company cleaned my coil and fixed the access panel with fiberglass, and $ 300 later my AC is working like a champ (not including the $ 90 I wasted on Flow Tech). This guy even said he would replace the capacitor for just the price of the part, but I went ahead and did it myself before he came back to do the coil clean.
The relatively prompt arrival of the tech and the same evening call with a quote for a new system are worth 2 stars, but otherwise there wasn’t much good to say.

I needed an A/​C professional on very short notice and Flow-​Tech did not disappoint. Their repairman was extremely knowledgeable about the situation. In fact, it turned out not to be an air-​conditioning issue but an electrical one. But bottom line I was impressed enough to put them on my list of the «go-​to» resource for all my future A/​C needs.

Right now I’m giving this 4 stars, but based on the helpful phone operator and her eagerness to help, I’m going to eventually give it 5 after the tech comes. The $ 25.00 off was very attractive to us. To be continued… Honestly a 5 star company for customer service. They fit us in on a busy schedule, however our mom called a friend at the same time and we cancelled our call. We were really excited to use Flo-​Tech, but we didn’t We will call them in the future because we read the great reviews and their customer service was excellent.

With all the sucky A/​C companies in Miami, what is one to do? Don’t sweat like a pig. Call Flow-​Tech. They’re an honest legit company with great customer service. They really know what they are doing.
My A/​C broke just when the humidity was kicking everybody’s ass (not mine. I’m a tough guy). I gave them a call and they sent a small army to work. Damn! I didn’t even have my VIP card with me!
While not the cheapest, they are worth the price. My new A/​C can connect to my phone and my wireless network and the temperature can be preprogrammed ahead of time. Who can ask for more?

Flow-​tech saved our day after moving into our new office only to find our AC was broken. After calling other companies who couldn’t get us a tech for a day or two, we called flow tech and first they told us they couldn’t get us anyone till the next day AM but Melissa was a lifesaver and sent us someone not even two hours later. The AC part had to be ordered and they said we’d need to wait till 3pm the next day to get it fixed and they showed up at 11am, way ahead of time and fixed our air! They were fast, nice and all around great to work with. Highly recommend.

After a few years of dealing with various a/​c techs who either dont show up on time or dont do the job properly it is a pleasure to find a company that shows up on time, does the job well for a fair price.
They are not the lowest priced vendor but then again I used the lowest priced vendors for a while and I was not happy with the results. These guys are a keeper.

Clearly a 5 star company! I called them around 9 am since my A/​C was having issues the night before. The girl who answered said the tech would be out between 10 and 1 but would call when he was on the way. As you would expect from an honest company, I received the phone call that the tech was on his way and he arrived in about 20 mins. The estimate I was given on the phone was accurate and the work was done pretty quick. Very satisfied customer here!

Flow Tech installed a new high-​end Trane unit that, at the outset, required a tweak here and there but afterwards it has proven to be a marvelous air conditioning system. The reduction in humidity and noise, coupled with the clean and crisp air it produces has even had a positive impact on my wife’s sleep.
I can’t say enough about Flow Tech’s patience with my demanding needs. The early troubleshooting and adjustments were tended to in a professional and responsive manner.

Unfortunately the Miami summer and a broken AC is not a match made in heaven…

A tech came out an hour and half after I called. He was honest, quick to give a diagnosis and had my AC up and running (with a new part delivered) in less than 2 hours.
