I had stopped by iRun once before, but had not really shopped for myself here up until a couple of weekends ago.
I very recently started running and found that my shoes were doing nothing but tearing my feet to shreds. Even trying to change the way I ran a bit, the only results I got were horrible blisters and slight ankle pain. It wasn’t like I was working too hard either — these were short 2 – 3 mile runs. Because I had heard such good things about iRun, I thought I would stop in to get some professional advice and a new pair of shoes.
The co-​owner, whose name I didn’t catch, immediately told me that my shoes were providing me with no support whatsoever. Then he asked me to put them back on to hop on the treadmill so he could record a quick run and see what I needed. The results were pretty much that I was running entirely on my tiptoes. Also a bit lopsided, enough that the insides of the balls of my feet were taking most of the impact and sliding around inside my unstable shoes. He recommended a pair of shoes on sale that would provide me with the support I needed, and also told me that I should practice running heel to toe and that because these shoes provided a much more level position they would help me do that.
After even just one run I could see the difference. I felt like I could just keep going because my entire body was much more comfortable, not just my worn out feet. Also, I’ve been working on my gait, something I don’t think would’ve been very successful in my old pair of shoes with no cushioning in the front. Yes, the shoes will likely be a bit more expensive than if you purchased them on Amazon or whatever, but the great advice is truly worth it.
The service was quick (I was in and out in less than 15 minutes) and you can tell that the owner is both really knowledgeable and passionate about his products (they even sponsor a neighborhood run club that one of my close friends swears by). I would highly recommend this shop to all runners out there.

I had heard about this place from several friends who are runners and triathletes. Was greeted by Hector and found the store to be well laid out, finding everything I needed quickly. A good variety of stuff, even some triathlon gear. Received great services and was quite pleased. I will definitely go back when I need more running gear.

This store is more than just a footwear/​apparel store. It’s a movement and a community.
I joined the iRun folks for their Workout Mondays where they alternate different workouts each week.
I quickly discovered how truly out of shape I was when people were zipping past me just a mile or two down. No worries though, the positive vibes from the people that run during workout Mondays fuels you to keep going.
The store itself offers EVERYTHING you need for running (even motivation).
There’s even a treadmill where I’m sure you can run to see how much you pronate and get the adequate shoe.
I now know where I will be buying my running gear. And I also now know who I will be training with on Mondays.

Went in today to buy a set of shoes and the service was outstanding. The selection was quite good especially having a popular shoe size where most places are normally out of stock of what I want. The sales rep checked out my gait and recommended shoes based on that. I don’t do much running but i walk a lot so he was able to recommend something that would work well. Couldn’t be happier with the experience. The prices were msrp, which is what you’ll find them for everywhere, no reason to go to a big box or mall store that wont help or acknowledge you when this place is in the area. If you need running shoes and are in the Miami area this is the place to go, you won’t be disappointed.

This was my first guided shoe buying experience. I was helped by Allie and she was amazing. She made me feel comfortable. She asked me to do a simple jog on the treadmill and she recorded my foot movement. She analyzed it and brought me 4 pairs of shoes to try on. She explained the benefits of each shoe. The great part was that she was attentive and at the same time gave me space to try the shoes. At no time did I feel pressured or rushed to buy. These aren’t random people off the street, you can tell they run in their personal lives so they speak from experience. I will come back and recommend the shop to everyone who asks.

I have constant, daily foot pain from a combination of flat feet, weight gain, and plantar fasciatis from a career of standing on my feet. I was recommended Irun through a friend but was skeptical as I’m not in running shape and just wanted walking shoes to end my constant foot pain. I read a great review for Irun from someone who purchased shoes to walk through Europe on vacation and decided to check it out.
Ali took care of us and Hector checked out a video of me running for shoe recommendations. Ali was personable, knowledgeable, lighthearted and earnest. She seems genuinely happy to help you find you your perfect shoe and it makes you like her right away. She calls it the «Cinderella effect» and it’s real. Something magical happened when I found the right shoes– seriously. I felt like a cheeseball even there among believers but inside I was giddy. She walked me through several pairs of shoes, encouraged me to use the treadmill to test my shoes, and was nothing but patient.
We used the Unilocal check-​in discount, almost forgot, and she seemed happy to save us a few. I know it seems too good to be true or that maybe it’s not the kind of store that caters to non-​athletes, but these people are legit.
Bottom line– check them out.

Needed a pair of running shoes and a friend of mine told me to stop by iRun on Biscayne and 50^th. I was welcomed by Cobi, who I believe is the owner. We immediately recorded my gait, something I had never done. I was in shock when I saw the level of pronation I had. Cobi and I discussed in detail my options and he brought me several shoes to try on. Once I tried the Brooks (
) Racer ST 5, I knew that I was in jogging heaven. The great thing about them, the price was comparable with the online pricing. The store also has many goodies for runners of all levels. I would recommend this store to anyone that is seriously considering a good set of running shoes.

So whenever I travel, my feet die. After a day or two (or three or ten) of walking upwards of ten miles a day (a point of contention between my girlfriend and me: she prefers to walk and see EVERYTHING while I prefer to sit in dimly lit bars with dark sunglasses on and a shot in one hand and a beer in another, waiting to spark conversation with an interesting local), my feet are throbbing. They’re destroyed. They’re sore, and they’re raw.
With a trip to Europe looming (we leave next month), I decided that it just doesn’t make any f***king sense to spend a ton of money on a trip only to while away the hours cursing my flat feet. At the urging of some friends, I decided to give iRun a try.
Now, I’m not a runner. I’m a why-​stand-​when-​you-​can-​sit loaf. And I’ve made my peace with that. Sure, I exercise a few times a week, but I don’t exercise because I love to exercise. I exercise because I don’t want to die of a heart attack at fifty. What’s awesome about this place is: you don’t HAVE to be a runner. You don’t have to be an expert. In fact, this place exists because most of us don’t know what the frak we’re doing.
My woman and I walked in, and after quickly laying out my predicament to the store’s owner (I wish I remembered his name), he took a look at my feet, measured them, and knew exactly the pairs to recommend. He totally took the guesswork out of my hands, which, with recent shoe-​buying failures fresh in my mind, was most appreciated.
The whole exchange took about ten minutes. My feet fell in love with the shoes he recommended, and wearing them now, I know that Europe will be marked by food and drink and history and maybe a fight at a pub that ends in everyone hugging and drinking together AND NOT marred by my bad genes.

even though when i walked in i wasn’t automatically greeted because i was very quiet doing so the owner and the sales associate quickly apologized and helped get me the size i needed in the shoe i wanted. Their nutrition and hydration selection is great! i’l def come back to stock up on running shoes and other nutrition needs. Thank you!

After years of running with the wrong shoe, Hector was able to fit me into the right shoe that will give me the proper support for my feet and back. Perfect customer service! This is the place to buy your running gear. Hector and Cobi are great, helpful and honest as well as all the staff. I don’t mind paying a little more to have a great shoe and help a local business that helps the community.
They have a great running group that supported me through my marathon training. I’m glad they are in the neighborhood.

The shoes that i got here made me feel like im running on clouds. The moment i slip them on, i was scared because it was so comfortable that it felt like my feet was not wearing anything but fluffy clouds.
So here is my story:
I needed shoes to run and do insanity with and i suffer from weak ankles that turn in or out when im jumping around and my knee and back always goes out. I thought i needed stability shoes and found irun. The gentleman checked out my running on a treadmill and took everything i told him in consideration and said i do not need too much support like i think or i will be uncomfortable. He had me try on a couple of shoes with wide platforms to keep my feet stable and when we found one which was a bit tight, he whipped out another pair and it was like my feet was in heaven. I run and do insanity with it and my feet feels like its jumping on air.
They make sure to help you as long as you tell them everything from medical physical conditions and past experiences.
Very pricey but worth it.

Every now and then, I become a cynic. I see a business like iRun, with all those shiny five star reviews, and I’m just not sure it’s going to live up to the hype.
Happily, iRun does. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. I was even able to see my gait on the treadmill due to a video taken by my sales clerk as I ran. Booyah! I could see my pronation right away. It’s pretty cool to go to a place where not only do they tell you what you need and why, they actually show you.
I tried on several different shoes before I found my match. And what a match it was — true love from the start. My Asics felt so natural on my feet it was like I was back in ballet class, pas de chat’ing around. As I jeté’d around the store I could tell I was going to get a big boost when I went for my first run in my new kicks.
There was no attitude when I asked for my check-​in discount — in fact they seemed happy to save me some dough. Of course, the pair I fell in love with was also the most expensive, so I had to go check online to see if iRun’s prices were fair. Happily, they retail for the exact same amount on the Asics site. Score!
Bottom Line: the only running store you’ll ever need.

I was having an issue with my running shoes, so I decided to visit this store based on the Unilocal reviews to see if they could diagnose and correct my problem.
Once I arrived I met the owner and described my problem of having gradual burning under the left side of my foot and the upper outer left calf muscle after about ten minutes of running. This dude is like some kind of running shoe scientist or something. He explained every aspect of my running shoe’s design and engineering to me, he even checked the wear of the sole and told me specific characteristics of my running style. His diagnosis of my problem made all the sense in the world.
I did not have to buy new shoes as I thought, from his diagnosis it appears to be something simple, so I am going to apply his suggestion and go running.
I did buy some running socks though, there are lots of interesting runner items here to purchase. I am definitely going to be back to buy new shoes once the ones I have wear out. If you are a runner at any level, I would suggest visiting this store. This place is A+, the people in the store are super friendly, and they definitely know the science of running and running shoes.

If you live in the area, you may notice a group of runners stretching out in front of the store occasionally. That’s because iRun puts on weekly group runs. It’s a good opportunity to connect with other local runners of all levels. What’s more, you’ll be able to try new techniques and set some goals if you end up coming on a regular basis.
The staff is super friendly and encouraging. You can find anything you need here for running. You’ll find running apparel, energy bars & gels for those long runs, and of course running shoes.
They’ll look at your stride and talk to you about the type of running you do and they’ll help you select the best shoes that are designed for you. It sounds pretty technical, I know; but their customer service is top notch and not intimidating in the least.
Go there, or at least to their website and sign up for their email notifications and come run with them and see what they’re all about for yourself.
