I like coming here, its got a great space, good bar tenders, and the bar food is pretty good… its usually tragically empty but whatever, just means we don’t have to wait for a space at the bar… bar tenders are friendly but they are missing a lot of stuff to make«fancier» drinks, so the drink selection is less gastropub and more dive-bar, but thats ok with me I think I had a burger here once, but I can’t remember, so obviously it was a good night!

Really a good hang out location and the food was very good no complaints there. Ive been to «The Joint» a few times now and every time I walk away with a good feeling about the place. That being said, I wonder how long it will last. As each and every time it has been empty. The service this time was excellent, our waitress was chipper informative and friendly. The food that we had was above par for bar food, I had the Hangover Burger, which was a burger with everything on it, including a fried egg, and my buddy had the fresh Mahi-Mahi. We also shared loaded tostones, all were very good. The Joint is a bar, nothing more nothing less, sadly it was once a happening spot called Houllihan’s, but apparently those days are long since over. I wish the joint well, as it is a good place. But, reality is they have a long road to climb to profitability. I recommend utilizing a coupon from and frequent this establishment.

This is my 2nd time reviewing The Joint. This time I went on a much slower night to give them a better chance. The staff was friendly & our server was on the ball with refills, napkins etc. The food was great although I have gripes about toppings being on my food that aren’t listed on the menu. The drink cups are better now as they moved away from the small throw away plastic cups. Bathrooms have come a long way as far as cleanliness. Automated soap & paper towel dispensers should be mandatory everywhere. Lots of TV’s so any sports fan would be comfortable.

Tasty bar food and big draft beer selection but that all doesn’t matter because you seldom get what you want — short on kitchen and wait staff. They just can not make it happen!

Don’t go anywhere near this place. This was one of my worst dining experiences ever. It took over and hour for the food to come out. The food was poorly made, and the service was awful. My family got the nachos to start our dinner. The nachos came out when our entrees should have come out. I thought to myself if the nachos take this long how long is the entrée gonna take to come out? The nachos were awful, they were something I could have made at my house. The chips were dry, there was not that much pulled pork on them, and for cheese all they did was pour shredded cheese on tostitos and microwave it. That is the first time I have seen a restaurant use that for cheese on nachos. It took another 30 to 40 minutes for our food to come out and when it did come out it was awful. I ordered a bbq chicken pizza which the menu claimed was thin and crispy, and cooked in a brick or coal fire oven. The dough was barely cooked, the pizza fell apart while I attempted to eat it, and it was not crispy at all. My mother ordered a chicken sandwich which she requested no sauce on. The sandwich came out with heavy chipotle sauce on it. The chicken breast was very leathery and hard to cut. My father ordered a latin burger which he asked to be cooked medium rare. They served it well done. We sat at the bar and the bartender had no knowledge of beers and showed little signs of experience. The people next to us asked him if a certain beer was a lager, based on his response I have come to the conclusion he did not know what a lager was. The Joint(I am not going to call it a bar and grill because that would do a diservice to real bars and grills) ruined our Friday night. At least we know not to go there now.

Terrible. I don’t know what’s wrong with the Rating counter at top right. I count 7 one star ratings to 8 five stars, almost the same amount but that’s not what it shows. Anyway call it The Joint that’s accurate enough and forget Bar and Grill. Gastropub what? Gastro-intestinal not gastronomic as it claims to be. There was a large party from West Kendall tonight but I managed to order ahead of them. I warned the barmaid that I’m picky and she said fish dip and steak rather than Mahi and Thai shrimp. Fine, that was as I suspected. The $ 8 fish dip was mild but really not bad. Better than the Loggerhead or Scotty’s landing and enough for two to share. I ordered a $ 22 rare«center cut Angus filet mignon with caramelized onions, a reduction and sweet potatoes» and a salad on the side. The salad with balsamic vinegar wasn’t bad but the main dish was so salty as to be completely inedible, not fit for human consumption. WTF they dropped the whole salt shaker in there? The barmaid said she had no use for so much sodium herself and took it back graciously. On the second try the salt was under control but the meat was dry and a bit tough –in spite of it being rare– the so called«caramelized onions» were really deep fried, packaged frozen onions and just like the frozen sweet potatoes covered in way too much artificial flavorings from factory. No caramelized onions and no «reduction» either. I was only able to eat the meat(barely) and couldn’t stomach the rest. Just what Miami needs another amateur to sell really bad bar food. They didn’t spend a penny on the crummy décor but to me that’s really not the issue. They claim to be a gastronomic pub yet they make a place like Chilie’s look like a fine restaurant. Fail.

So 6 girls walk into this place after work one day hoping to have a good time, drink some beer(their site boasts the place is «HEAVYON U.S. CRAFTBREWS») and pig out on yummy appetizers in celebration of one of our BFF’s big 4 – 0. We walk into said establishment — and find we were the only ones in the place. We were a little creeped out since the place is dark and dingy. it definitely has that«sports bar» feel, but also that«there’s a convicted felon lurking in here somewhere» feel, which is a major turnoff to a group of 6 chicks. By the time we left it started to fill up with an interesting mix of families w/small kids, teenage mothers, and a couple of questionable fellows that made us all look around and check on our handbags. Service was slow and the poor guy must have been on his first day at the place — bless his heart, he tried, but he kept telling us they had things and then coming back to break our hearts with the delivery of bad news. Most beers we requested they did not have. They didn’t have Stella, Heineken Light, Bud Light… Surprisingly, they had one of my favorite brews — Purple Haze. But come on, STELLA?! Be serious. We ordered the following, actually, we ordered more than what follows, but this is what was available –Truffle Fries(couldnt taste a pinch of truffle, fries were cold), Smoking Tacos(soggy with too much cole slaw), Loaded Nachos(depressing, bland), The Joint Pizza(bland), Latin Burger(probably the best thing we had all night, this earns the place the one obligatory Unilocal star), Caprese Burger(pretty decent) and lastly, a Brownie Blast, which was surprisingly good. Given the dingy décor, qustionable patrons, and needless to mention, God awful food, I think it is safe to say these 6 chicks will not be returning. Sorry.

This was my first time there since Hooligans shut down. It is a lot cleaner than Hooligans. The set up was nice. The best part of my lunch was the huge screen where they were projecting the Heat Game(v Celtics). I heard that this was a great place for specialty beers so I took a chance and ordered one. What a freaking MISTAKE! By the time I got my beer, it was at room temperature. And no, I’m not exaggerating here. It was as luke warm as a day-old pot of coffee. Service was slow because from what I understand there was a new girl who could only handle one table. My waiter had all the other tables. I couldn’t understand why they would only have 1 waiter and 1 trainee on a day that the Heat Game was on. The food is good. The fries are fantastic(they’re saving grace). Signage, or lack thereof, sucks. In reference to the prior reviews, when I arrived they had a chalck board sign that said«Please Seat Yourself» which was fine. However, I agree with another reviewer that there is no set uniform. It can be quite annoying trying to figure out who your waiter is when no one is wearing name tags. All in all, it’s an okay place to go for some grub, just not on days where you’re in a hurry or when they’re training someone new.

Nice bar in Pinecrest, they have a GIANT projector screen which is good for sports events. Giant Projector + Heat game + game audio = Awesome. The food here is really good also from what I have tried. The BBQ chicken pizza is amazing. On Tuesdays it is ladies night and they also have karaōke and they project the words on the projector screen. On Sundays they have an «In the Biz» night. The downfall is lack of customers though, they have a fairly large area with a bunch of tables so even if there is people there it seems empty. They have some good craft beers on tap but it is pretty pricey. I would come back here though for the food and to drink, I just wish they had more drink specials on nights.

Great local bar, and you get a free beer if you Check-in! They have a pretty good beer selection(only a handful of microbrews). The Saturday night crowd was pretty lame, but the house band was surprisingly good playing 80’s covers and 90’s alternative hits. The three stars is for a couple of things: 1) the service was a little distracted and would camp out at tables with regulars which felt pretty ostracizing as a first timer when they would do fly-by’s on my table. 2) they kept the jukebox blocked off between the band sets which didn’t make much sense 3) the bathrooms were twenty types of awful.

Came for the first time on a Tuesday and it just so happens that it is ladies night, entitling me to free Miller Light, Coors light, UV vodka and some cheap rum.(9pm-1am). It was also karaōke night so it was nice to sit and watch and make fun of those performing. As far as the food goes, we tried this BBQ personal pizza and it was delicious. They also have spinach cheese wontons, mussels, and a few other rare foods that not a lot of bars serve. I would consider coming back here to watch a sporting event on the huge drop down screen, because this place wont be wall to wall with people. Or just on Tuesdays where I can drink for free.

Good Live band, Tasty Food, and Beer! — This would be a good place to sit and watch a basketball game or the live band while having a few beers! Bad Service, Rude Waitress, Cold Food!!-I don’t think I will ever return here, Especially not to eat… I would never wait an Hour and a half to get my food and then get it cold. I would never wait for an appetizer to come and it never come!(even after we reminded the waitress). I would never wait 20 mins to have a waitress bring me sugar! Never ever AGAIN!

finally! owners who’ve got it right! Since I’ve lived in the neighborhood I’ve watched this place go through multiple personality changes, each time for the worse. But I was pleasantly surprised when I first came in to check it out for a New Times tweet-up and even more impressed when I came to watch the Jets vs. Steelers game last Sunday. First, you gotta admire the gigantic television, perfect for any sport event. Second, they’ve got an impressive selection of beers, we were treated to a very rare IPA(apparently only 2 kegs in the entire state of FL) and our server said they were going to keep on having specials like that. Speaking of the service… stellar, the dude Kevin was on point the entire evening. They finally have a very decent menu! Things I would actually consider ordering AND eating! and even better news is that they new management and vibe has managed to deter the usually grimy/creepy crowd that used to frequent the locale back when it was the other personalities. Also, good music choices(see my Carrington’s review for further reference) I’m impressed, good job cleaning up. I’ll certainly be back.

I’ve been talking about how The Joint needs a Wow factor to compete with the plethora of sports bars in the area. They’ve found it. On Wednesdays they have created a new Beer Pairing Dinner. This 5 course meal, served with 5 different beers from the same brewery, this time Cigar City, is an event that is worth the drive if you are coming from north Miami, and is unexcusable to miss if you live in Pinecrest. The first course was Lobster, Shrimp, Scallop and Hog Fish Snapper ceviche on top of a Guava Groove Granita served with a bottle of Guava Groove for the table. This was easily one of the best pairings of the dinner. The ceviche was a delicious and refreshing start to the dinner, and the Guava Groove is just an excellent, fruity and light beer. Even for those that don’t like beer, this would be worth trying. The second course was pulled pork mixed with aged goat cheese stuffed in squash blossom, lightly tempura’ed, with their barbecue sauce. This right here is what took them into the world of gourmet bar food. Don’t get me wrong, the ceviche was fantastic and I could see it becoming a full time item on their menu, but this item was The Joint and it really impressed all of us. It was accompanied with the Maduro beer, which went very well together. The third course was cedar plank roasted wild salmon with a fire roasted corn relish served with the Humidor. This was nice, but didn’t blow anyone away. I’m sorry Jorge, but I’m partial to the Gangplank Salmon at another restaurant. But for what it is, it is a great middle course. The salmon was fresh and the corn relish was great. The fourth course made me regret clearing the last plate: beer braised bone-in short ribs on black truffle mashed potatoes. WOW. This was 5 stars alone. The meat was tender and flavorful, and you can’t go wrong with the mashed potatoes. The Togobaga, the beer served with the meal, was more of an afterthought when served this just delicious course. My mouth is watering just remembering it. The final course was a cupcake. Remember, at this point you are more than full. The cupcake was very sweet and very good, but make sure you have a sweet tooth because it is intense. All together this is one reason to check in with the joint prior to every Wednesday. Their next beer pairing is with Bell’s Brewery, and that will bring a crowd. Tips –You need a reservation for the beer pairing. Make sure you call ahead and reserve a seat. –Bring friends. While the meal is fantastic, its a nice event to share with friends. –DONOTPREGAME. Yes, they have a great selection of beer on tap, including 3 new beers, but you don’t want to have a pint before dinner. You’ll be getting 5(more like 7) cups of beer with this dinner, and you do not want to fill up early. –Ask questions and talk to the staff. The owners are incredibly friendly, and the staff, like Kevin, know their beers.

This is not new. Its the same toilet seats from before. Wtf with the tv delays the tvs are way off sync man. Wtf my pitcher of cigar city jaialai is 24 dollars? Wtf there are no tvs on the north side of the facility. What if i am facing norte? Wtf the coors lite sluts are leaving at 9 minutes left in the 3rd quarter? The good part is you can kamikaze hop across us1 and have saggy boobies to buscar. Wtf manny puig is here, he’s like ‘damn this place sorry’. Puig is leaving. I am leaving. Boobie time.

I stopped here with a few handfuls of Unilocalers on a recent Tuesday evening. I hope we stopped here when this place was having an off night, or they’re simply still adjusting since it’s so new, but when we were here, several things showed a need for improvement in my opinion. First, you should know that since this place is so new, there is no real signage out on US-1 for it yet, nor is there a lighted sign above this storefront as there are for nearly all the other businesses in this plaza. For now they only have a large, unlit sign in the front window with their logo and name on it. We arrived at about 9:15 p.m., asked if we could slide a few tables together to accommodate our group, and were joined by a few others a bit later. The wait staff was there right away with menus, and within a few moments they took our drink orders. However, once we ordered our food it seemed that we waited a long time for it, especially considering the place really wasn’t very busy on this night. When we finally did get our meals, several people commented that their food(Mexican pizza, four cheese pizza, regular fries, sweet potato fries, etc.) either tasted a bit off, or didn’t have nearly as much taste as it could have or should’ve had. I had 6 wings and an order of sweet potato fries. The wings and bleu cheese were very good, and the wings really are quite large here! However, the sweet potato fries I had were pretty tasteless. One of the reasons I ordered them was because I recently had sweet potato fries at another restaurant and those were incredible. Aside from their orange color, the sweet potato fries I got here at The Joint looked identical to the regular shoe string fries someone across from me had ordered, they didn’t have much taste, and it was difficult to find any fries that were more than about ¾ inch long, almost as if I’d been given the last several pieces that were left in the bag. While they did offer us a few drink refills during our meal, it seemed like we sat there for a long while after everyone had finished without being offered a refill, or without our server being visible so we could ask for the check. I think the prices were definitely reasonable — The 6 large wings I got with celery and bleu cheese were $ 5.99, the side of sweet potato fries was $ 3.00, and the glasses of draft Woodchuck cider I had were $ 5 each. It’s my hope that we caught this place when it was new, and maybe on an off night. Hopefully the taste of the food will improve, they’ll get some signage up, and the wait time will become a bit more tolerable sometime soon. Considering this place just recently opened, this is definitely one that I will stop back at in a few months to check it out again once it’s been up and running for a while.

Its a sports bar so the TV situation was on par. Came here on a Tuesday night with some peeps to catcha bite. Tucked away in a little plaza right before you hit Pinecrest this place is ok. The menu seemed very interesting and was ready to dive in. The wings some of my table had smelled and looked good but i didnt venture to try them. I wanted to save room for my pizza and fries :) I was a little dissappointed with the four cheese pizza and the fries had almost no flavor. Dunno what happened to the pizza. However i know from managing a restaurant back in the day when a place first opens up there are always some kinks to be worked out so i will be hitting up this place again in the future. The waitress and staff were super friendly and attentive to all of our needs and that is a big plus in my book.

First, watch your step! Right inside by the door there is this random«invisible» step that you would barely notice, unless you’re me! Also, the bathrooms were clean. I’ve been gone way too long because now I’m reviewing bathrooms too! The food is well, sports bar food but they do make a good presentation… until you taste it! They make good buffalo wings though! A lot of the other stuff is average at best. The sweet potatoe fries with cheese and BBQ chicken shreds tasted like BBQed flavored sweetness on top of more sweet potatoes. Too sweet and the cheese just didn’t help with the mixture of flavors. The loaded plantains/tostanes were okay but I would have prefered mine crispier(I guess I’d have to grow them myself!). Texture of plantains is IMPORTANT! Also, for $ 10 I expected their pizzas to be bigger! I mean it’s only flour and a little bit more tomatoe sauce and cheese for like an extra ½ an inch all around! For that price and in my opinion, it COULD have been bigger. As for the atmosphere I admit I love their giant big screen by the bar. The bar/restaurant has two sections with the giant tv on the right and smaller tvs all around, but the section on the left as my friend noticed was quite dim? Which makes it seem like a makeout section or like you’re in some overpriced restaurant yet you’re at a BAR! Oh yeah and GOHEAT! =P

Simple doesn’t mean mediocre. I think that’s the big lesson to be taken away from my visit to The Joint. This sports bar was located south of Dadeland, closer to Pinecrest. This is a new place so I’ll be back and ready to give The Joint’s cuisine another shot. On the bright side, they have Great service. Great location Nice beers on tap Lots of televisions I’m cheering for this Joint to represent, so Good Luck! can’t wait to come back
