Start from Scratch is the ultimate destination for parents whose children have allergies, for vegans, for those who must follow a gluten-​free diet, for others who struggle with food sensitivities and those just needing a cupcake fix. Our dedication to quality is evident in our choices to use the most wholesome ingredients that have been proven, through their anti-​inflammatory nature and concentration of antioxidants, to be healthful. We are meticulous in our methods to create consistently high quality handcrafted baked goods. Our commitment to excellence extends beyond our products to the service and value we provide every day.

History

Established in 2014.

For almost two years, I’ve been baking as a gluten-​free vegan. Experience has taught me that finding scrumptious gluten-​free vegan baked goods is practically impossible.

During our daughter’s first year of school, I brought in some goodies for various events. One Thursday I received a phone call from the Food Service Director who had tasted some of the goodies. He was excited about the amazing flavor and couldn’t believe they were gluten-​free and vegan. He gave me a business proposition on the spot due to the fact his current supplier of gluten-​free foods was delivering lackluster products.

At that point, I had been steadily working on my business plan, but that seminal moment convinced me that I needed to make Start from Scratch my priority. At present, we continue to build an excellent reputation within the community as word-​of-​mouth spreads like wildfire that gluten-​free vegan indulgence does exist!

I am a self-​proclaimed food lover! I happily admit I’ve experienced quite a food evolution. I went from making HUMONGOUS, though quite yummy, I might add, pancakes with a side of grapes and eating vats of pasta to a vegan, gluten-​free lifestyle filled with food that includes a spinach salad filled with fresh, crisp veggies, hummus, sun dried tomato basil pesto and a homemade (of course!) black bean burger!
