History

Established in 1990.

Craters & Freighters was founded in June 1990 to meet the needs of businesses and consumers for specialty freight handling, including pick-​up, crating, shipping, packaging, tracking, insuring, and delivery of shipments that are too heavy, over-​sized, valuable, awkward, and time-​sensitive for other shipping agencies. The company serves consumers and businesses in all sectors including telecommunications, electronics, medical equipment, aerospace, biotechnology, and heavy machinery. With expertise that delivers, the company dominates the specialty freight industry.

Headquartered in Golden, Colorado, the company expanded through franchising beginning in 1991, and currently has franchise locations across the United States, with additional territories available. Craters & Freighters prepares new franchise owners for success through comprehensive training in packaging, crating, transportation processes, marketing, as well as business operations.

Business Owner

Tom R. felt it was time to leave his own mark in the business world back in 2001 so he searched for a opportunity to join an organization with a strong market presence and a bright future. Craters & Freighters emerged as the right choice for Tom given his industrial engineering degree and his innate ability to solve problems. In 2007 it was time for Tom to add a partner to the growing New Jersey franchise office. His thoughts immediately turned to Robert P., a Mechanical Engineer. Tom had previously worked with Robert before joining Craters & Freighters and their working relationship then was built on trust, respect and the ability to work together to solve problems. Robert Joined Tom in May 2007 by adding the New York franchise territory. Craters & Freighters — NY/​NJ now provides pick-​up, packing, and shipping services for Northern & Central New Jersey, New York City, Staten Island, Brooklyn, and Queens.
