I go here for lunch, when I can during the week and the food always hits the spot for the price too. Not too expensive like other Spanish restaurant in the area that charge you a arm and a leg for a small amount of food,

Incredible food. All the pupusas are great, The quesadillas are great. The plantains… man, i’d throw a puppy off a bridge for them. Ok no I wouldn’t. Who would? I love puppies. But that is the kind of hyperbole that this place inspires. It’s inexpensive and you get incredible value for your money. Nice people, less than chic eating area. Maybe order takeout, but invite friends over and impress them. I had no idea what a pupusa was before I came here and it’s forever imbedded in my culinary lexicon.

I’m from El Salvador, and have been to many Salvadoran restaurants all over the country over the years. This little spot is def in the top 5 of my all time favs! The food is definitely home cooked and fresh. From the delicious homemade soups, to the native dinners, appetizers, and not to forget, imo, the BESTPUPUSASINNJ and the surrounding areas. Period. I have been coming here for a few years and could eat here everyday! And have for a few in a Row! One of the hidden gems in NJ for authentic Pupusas. Call ahead if u want pupusas, they do take a little while.

I love this place. I’m Salvadorian and this small family owned restaurant has the best pupusas and tamales de elote. I travel about an hour and half for these pupusas. They are inexpensive and fresh. $ 2.14 for 1 pupusa de queso. Don’t expect much in terms of décor. Again, it’s a small humble family owned restaurant. I would highly recommend this place to others.

I came here for lunch and was the only person who didn’t speak Spanish. The lady motioned me to sit under a flag of El Salvador. I ordered the chicken tacos and was not disappointed. The tomatoes were fresh, the onions and cilantro were crisp and flavorful, and the chicken tasted juicy. I also ordered a pupusa and it was a little rich with the cheese, but still delicious. The lady is both cook and waitress, so be patient, but the cost($ 11 with a bottle of water) and the flavor was worth it.

This place is really good. The lady that works here is nice and does pretty much everything by herself. I definitely recommending calling in your order in advance because it can take a long time for her to prepare your food depending on how many orders she has to deal with. Her english isn’t too great, so you definitely need some patience if you’re going to try to have a conversation with her on the phone. This place could definitely be nicer, but that doesn’t really bother me as long as the place seems clean. Anyway, onto the food. The pupusas are amazing. They have a nice crisp texture on the outside with a soft and gooey(if you get cheese) texture on the inside. The mix pupusas come with pork, bean, and cheese. I feel like the ones with beans are actually not as good as the ones without, so these days, I just order the chicken and cheese or pork and cheese. This is probably a matter of preference though, so the mix pupusa is definitely worth trying if it’s your first time at this place. I love the pickled cabbage that comes with the pupusa. Before trying it, I thought it would be a strange combination together, but it is actually surprisingly great. The tacos here are really good too. I also tried the beef tongue in tomato sauce here. Although I am a fan of beef tongue, I found myself getting bored of this dish before I could finish it. It could have used some more sauce and flavor. The overall cost here is a little higher than I expected, and it seems like it is gradually increasing faster than it should. It is not to the point where I consider the prices unreasonable, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets there in the near future. Either way, I’ll definitely be back from time to time to get some more of those delicious pupusas!

The pupusas are fantastic. I had the mix(with pork, cheese and beans), and the chicken and cheese. You can tell they are homemade. The owners are friendly and make you feel like you’re in their home. For some reason, Google and Unilocal shows Roxana’s on the bridge between Bound Brook and Middlesex but this is wrong. They are about a mile further east on Lincoln Ave., just west of Mountain Ave. Not to be missed, Roxana’s is highly recommended!

I came here because of the reviews on Unilocal, when I first walked in I was a little hesitant because the place can take an upgrade. But we decided to give it a try, and once the food came it was absolutely delicious my husband and I got the popusas an my kids ordered beef tacos. The tacos were really good but I truly recommend the popusas. They were YUMMY!!!

The two names are confusing. It’s Silvia’s in the menu. Enjoyed the pupusa and the tamales. It was my first time eating one. I enjoyed how fresh and crispy they were. My husband had the pork, rice and beans. Great price and they give you a lot of food. The pork was flavorful and I liked it better with the pupusa sauce. I will be back to try the hot chocolate and the marañon iced drink.

Stopped in for breakfast, which maybe not their thing. I had eggs with cheese, beans, and plantains. BF had eggs with cheese, beans, chorizo, and home fries. My dish was okay… nothing really to write home about. BFs chorizo looked like a hot dog cut in an interesting spiral pattern. He tasted it and said it tasted like a hot dog(not spicy at all). One lady(I’m assuming Roxana) was the chef and waitress. Took a good half hour to get our food. We were the only ones there. Will try again for lunch and see how it goes.

Everything was cooked to order and very fresh! We ate in but next time I might call in advance for take out. The prices are more than reasonable. My husband and I split steak which came with rice, beans and tortillas as well as two pupusa’s. The steak was flavorful, the rice was soft and the beans were a nice addition although not the best beans I ever had. The pupusa’s were good and we will be going back for more!

Excellent pupusas, made to order, hot and fresh. They were perfectly crisp on the outside and melted on the inside. Ample parking. $ 9.60 to feed two of us with two orders of pupusas(two per order)– we went with an order of cheese and an order of pork and cheese and a bottle of Inca Kola.

These are among the best pupusas I’ve ever had — even better than the Red Hook ballfields. Tasty, salty, crispy, excelente. This spot is located on a rather desolate strip in Middlesex, so let’s make sure they stay open… take a trip out ASAP!(Avoid the corn tamale, however… very dry!!)

I went here with my sister last week. We each ate two pupusas and had two bottled drinks that totalled under $ 10. The food was delicious, but you might have some trouble ordering if you don’t know some basic Spanish. She seemed a bit confused when we gave her our order in English and had to repeat it a few times to be sure, but on the other hand she seemed to have little trouble with the other customer who I’m pretty sure also spoke to her in English.
