Sego Lily Day Spa

This is long overdue, but about six weeks ago I had posted a not-​so-​nice review due to a scheduling issue. Chelsea, the spa manager, was on the situation immediately and not only made it right, but made sure I had a phenomenal massage therapist (Christie). Now, I will definitely be back.

Location is weird in Sandy but once your inside its really nice and calming. Locker rooms are clean and waiting area is nice with fruit and hot tea. Very relaxing by the fireplace. Massage was awesome. I can’t wait to go back. I love how they have showers and you can clean up afterwards. Very nice!

Very happy with the service I received. I was visiting from Houston and my mom recommended this spa. I felt like I was at one of the spas you see in a movie. The ambiance was relaxing and therapeutic. Plenty of tea, water and drinks were available along with light snacks. The meditation room exceeded my expectations with calming water falls, fire place, comfy chairs and perfect mood lighting. I did their prenatal package. My facial and massage were exceptional. The pedicure was nice but I would skip it in the future. I do a lot of pedicures in Houston and it wasn’t quite up to my normal standards. It was just very simple and I’m used to more of a foot massage and various lotions etc. Between all my services, I relaxed in the meditation room and hung out in the amazing stream room (just enough to help with my cough as getting overheated is a no no in pregnancy). It was an excellent experience and I will be back next time I am in town.

Very calming, with gentle water features and a meditation room with fireplace and teas and treats. Steam room, dry sauna, wood paneled lockers and all the hair products (not to mention disposable razors) and lotion you could want for after a steam or a shower. It’s always quiet and relaxing, and I’m never met friendlier staff.
Pedicures are luxurious with heated neck wraps and treats to nibble on.
Massages are well done and on my back full of knots galore, I left feeling much better (now I just need to go more often)

I absolutely love this place. If only I never had to leave! I didn’t know what real relaxation was until I discovered Sego Lily. The ambiance of the spa is incredibly soothing. If you are going to get a facial, I recommend Andrea, she’s wonderful!

First off, I generally love Sego Lily. The option to take a shower and sit in a steam room following a massage is generous and everything is beautifully decorated. I feel calm when I’m there and that’s not an every day feeling.
Only 3 stars for a couple reasons. I’ve been getting mini maternity massages after work for over two months now with the same person. My preferences for the massage to be deep tissue were stated in the beginning. The second appointment I reiterated and the massage therapist went deeper, which was perfect. Next appointment was weaker, and last nights appointment, which was scheduled for an hour, rather than a half hour, was the worst. No deep tissue massage is going to make me fall asleep, and I fell asleep. My back does not feel the relief I needed, especially being 30 weeks along, because the pressure was too light. On top of that, she took 10 minutes to come back to the room after having me undress (took me 1 minute per usual) before we started and wasted at least 10 minutes at the end, I assume thinking I was asleep still, by very leisurely getting the hot towels and walking around the table to put the stool back. I was with her for an hour total. If I pay for an hour, I want to be massaged for an hour. If I am a regular client, I want to be remembered. At least have a profile and make me THINK I’m remembered by brushing up on who I am before you start. I didn’t reschedule.
So, while everything felt nice and the place is nice, there are definite improvements to be made in regards to consistency.

Just showed up for a massage and facial with my husband after scheduling a week ago. They had no record of us in their system. Pretty disappointed– I’ve heard good things.

This is a very nice, quiet, well appointed spa. Prices are comparable to Massage Envy and they offer many more services than ME. Better appointed than ME. We had a 60 min couples massage. There is a ladies and men’s changing/​locker area with bathroom, shower, sink & sauna in each. Only two complaints: I couldn’t figure out how to turn the sauna on after my massage and no one was around to help me. #2while there were facial, body scrub products, disposable razors etc. there was only a single hair brush and no combs which I thought was rather unsanitary. Other than that, I came away relaxed, in a meditative state of mind and would go back.

I had the most amazing spa experience. I arrived early so I could enjoy the meditation room. I then took a relaxing bath followed by dry brushing, a seaweed wrap, steam shower and hot stone massage with Holly. After my treatments I enjoyed the steam room. It was such a great way to spend my day off! I love all the amenities offered at the Midvale location.
The massage therapists can be hit or miss at Sego Lily. If you find a good one then stick with him/​her. I will request Holly in the future she made me feel comfortable and she knew what she was doing.

Sego Lily is the best day spa in town. I use it for services and brainstorming time. My absolute favorite combination in to come early and sit in the quiet room with a notepad and pen. I relax quietly, sip my free tea and snack on my free trial mix while listening to the waterfall and being warmed by the fire. I just let my thoughts wander as I write down the next amazing business ideas I want to implement.
Then I head in for a warm bath and oil soak followed by a hot stone massage by Ilene. Her expert touch places my in a dreamlike state where I continue to solve the world’s problems.
I finish by returning to the quiet room where I relax, write and meditate until I am ready to join the world again.

i’ve been coming here for past 5 years and have never been disappointed! i use to go to the same therapist for years, but she left to go to park city, and for the past year i have been trying other ones to find a replacement. i finally found her yesterday — eileen is amazing and i already booked my next visit with her.
the staff are all friendly and the location is very central. the outside is not much to look at, but inside is a different story. beautiful water wall as soon as you walk in. the women’s changing room is what you expect and has all the amenities you need. the waiting room is very relaxing and gets you ready for your treatment. a fireplace, water wall, snacks, tea, water, etc.
even though i’ve had some so so therapists, my experience is always good, and i always leave feeling relaxed. now that i have found a new regular therapist, Eileen, i expect that my experience will be even better from now on!

I’ve had, by far, the best facial ever! I have been to numerous spas around the country and outside of the country and have had numerous services and I’ll tell you this place is A+
The meditation room is beautiful! The staff are wonderful! The atmosphere is so warm, inviting, and relaxing. They have a full display of spa products with a very knowledgeable staff.

I have gone to this spa for over 5 years but no more. I just found out this entire time they have kept my credit card in their computer along with all of my personal information. They did not have authorization to keep my credit card on file nor did they ever mention that they were saving this information. With so many instances of identity theft these days I do not feel safe having this information readily available to anyone who has access to their computer.

Although the treatment rooms are clean, there is only 1 toilet in the women’s dressing room so if you are not there alone you have to wait. Ridiculous, they have at least 40 lockers in there for women to use and only had the foresight of putting in one toilet?! My massage therapist was farting the entire time she was giving me a massage and never once did it dawn on her in 90 minutes to excuse herself and remedy the problem!!! DISGUSTING! There was nothing done by the management to remedy the situation either. Their rates are no better than anyone else’s in the city and with poor customer service I won’t be going back and cannot recommend this place to anyone!
The wet sauna smells of mold and I don’t know know how often it actually gets cleaned because the seats are often slimy and unsavory. The showers heads are in DESPERATE need of some calcium remover and spray every which way and the clean up crew is dreadful, there is alway some sort of hair or trash in the shower, leave your shoes on. Yikes!
The pilates reformer classes which they offer there are excellent but are now discontinuing. Too bad, with some decent management it looks like it would be a great place for a day spa.

Disappointing! I have been going to this spa for years, since about the time it opened, and upon discovering the amazing Pilates classes became a 3x per week client. I also purchased makeup products and services. However, upon learning they are dropping their Pilates classes, which is what has kept me as a customer even though the facility’s environment and cleanliness has definitely slipped, I will never return.
The products and services are overpriced and every time I find a masseuse I like, the spa finds one reason or another to let them go or the employee cannot deal with the management and chooses to leave. There is black mold in the dirty showers, one SINGLE toilet in the large ladies locker room, and they must be struggling financially as they no longer put their complimentary SHARED hair brushes and combs in Barbasol to clean and disinfect them! I wouldn’t suggest touching that!
I believe this business will see a loss in numbers of clientele and profit with their decision to drop the Pilates classes as the majority of the people taking these classes also spent additional money with the spa and certainly will have no reason to do so now!

I had such a wonderful day at Sego Lily.
I visited on a Saturday afternoon while in Salt Lake on vacation after making an appointment the day before. The spa was quiet and calm even though they seemed to have a lot of appointments booked.
I checked in way early and was thrilled to see what a nice and relaxing waiting room they had. I poured myself a glass of cold water, grabbed trail mix from their pretty impressive selection of snacks, picked a cushy seat by the fire and let the relaxation begin. I signed up for a massage, which was great and reasonably priced.
After hanging out inside for a while, I left Sego Lily floating away on a happy relaxation cloud. I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in SLC.

This spa is really nice, pretty, clean, etc. However, when I went there recently I had brought my newborn along and they were disappointed that I had. They didn’t say anything about not bringing kids on the phone and they almost turned me away because I had my newborn with me. We went into the pedicure room and I got a pedicure with a few friends and for the price, you really don’t get that nice of a pedicure. I’ve had much better pedicures, foot massages, etc. for half the price at regular nail places.
EDIT: I have had comments on of course not bringing a baby to a day spa. My baby was 3 weeks old, so she was not noisy. I’m just surprised there are so many people commenting about it. I wanted to go with my friends to celebrate a birthday. All three of us had the same opinion that it was overpriced and not as good of a job as other nail places close by. One friend who used a gift card for it left all the rest of the money from the gift card for her tip ($ 25) because she didn’t want to go back!

I’m not going to lie, I came here to get a massage from my friend Katrina. Which was AWESOME! I didn’t really know what to expect because I have only gotten 2 massages in my life, but the whole experience was worth the trek I made from downtown to Fort Union. This Spa has all the bells and whistles. Robes, slippers, lockers, changing rooms, showers, a sauna and an extremely large and comfortable waiting area with fireplace and water walls. Luxurious, but not unwelcoming. I’m also very relieved that Katrina is actually really good at what she does, thankfully she got rid of the dull pain in my neck and spent some extra time on my wrist which was bothering me. Also, I am a huge wuss, so it was nice that she didn’t hurt me too bad while doing what she needed to do to fix me. Highly recommended! I will be back.

As a recent transplant I was desperate for a new massage place.
I easily booked a midday appointment on short notice (that morning). I arrived early to take advantage of the meditation room/​sitting area.
1ST IMPRESSION — it looks like an abandoned building. Giant empty urns (no plants) & one was used as an astray. Home Depot garage type rugs in the entry. There was a fountain in the courtyard but it was not working. A plastic bucket of trash to the left of the entry.
INSIDE was a different story, I was greeted by a huge wall fountain. The women’s locker room was nicely appointed (they had well used hairbrushes on display — eww) although it took the employee 2 tries to find a locker stocked with a robe. The meditation room was large with comfortable furniture and 2-​way fireplace. The water glasses were etched (appeared dirty) and the «snacks» looked like they came from a vending machine. They also had fresh fruit.
TREATMENTS: Sarah, my masseuse, made up for the problems with décor/​maintenance, she listened to my wishes and gave me a GREAT massage. She recommended I use the sauna/​steam room. The steam room was great, however, the sauna was missing a light bulb.
OVERALL, the massage was what I came for — I’ve been to better day spas — but if I needed a massage I would consider Sarah, so three-​and-​a-​half-​stars.

One of the most amazing spas I’ve ever been to.
My mom bought me a massage as a gift last time I was home in Salt Lake, and it was absolutely amazing. Aaron worked wonders on my back and shoulder and I’d recommend him to anybody.
The facilities themselves are amazing– they have a meditation room where you wait for your appointment or can hang out in after. It has comfy chairs and a fireplace and I kind of want to move in. The locker room has both a steam room and a sauna. The bathroom/​dressing room has literally everything you might need: shampoo, conditioner, disposable razors, hairbrushes, hair-​ties, etc.
I don’t know how expensive it is because I went as a gift (thanks Mom!) but however much it is, it’s worth it. I think it was the most relaxed I’ve ever been in my life.
