Throughout my 22 year career, I have earned a reputation as a skilled negotiator and tireless advocate for my clientele. I am known for my exceptional quality of service, detailed market knowledge, and ability to expertly manage complex transactions. I am the founder, broker and principal consultant of Jupiter Real Estate Group.

A central figure behind the San Francisco loft real estate boom of the early 1990s, I spent over a decade working as a developer representative on many top loft conversions and newly constructed loft projects in the South of Market Area (SOMA) in San Francisco. This experience greatly contributed to my success as I continued my career as project manager and consultant for various multi-​unit residential condominium projects. My extensive experience in residential developments significantly enhances my abilities and resourcing when advising clients on the purchase of condominiums or single-​family homes in San Francisco and Marin counties.

If you’re serious about finding a home, Cheryl Spence is as good as they come. Because of Cheryl, I just closed on my dream home in Sausalito for pocket change over what the other 9 buyers offered — they were not pleased. Cheryl knew exactly what we needed to do to be competitive in a way that set us apart from other buyers — even if it meant calling in last-​minute favors from her favorite home inspectors, etc. I couldn’t feel better about my purchase, and I couldn’t have dreamt up a better home. Additionally, Cheryl is well connected to the point where many of the homes I looked at sold before they were ever made public, and I was almost always the first person to see them. In this market (with such low inventory and an overwhelming number of buyers), you need a well-​connected, seasoned pro on your team. You need someone who doesn’t let a single home pass you by, someone who is your advocate, and truly cares that you not only find exactly what it is you’re looking for, but that you get it at a good value. Unlike so many other realtors I’ve worked with, I felt 100% confident that Cheryl had my best interest at heart. I dare you to find a better realtor — you just wont. Cheryl doesn’t rest on the laurels of a big company name; her success is a result of her hard work and dedication to her client, and her reputation is a direct result of the quality of her services. I’ve worked with Cheryl on a number of transactions over the years and she’s always consistently presenting herself as a consummate professional. Recently I had cause to sell a long term investment property, actually the first piece of real estate I ever purchased, and for many reasons chose her among the dozen or so close agent friends I have to represent me in the sale. Her creativity in problem solving, ability to trouble shoot any potential issues during the escrow and marketing processes, and her knack for simplifying the transaction to highlight what matters most is something I’ve long admired. Unlike a number of agents I’ve worked with professionally over the years, one thing I’ve learned is Cheryl does not cut corners. She is diligent in her risk management, meticulous about the paperwork making sure it is buttoned up and easy to navigate and always on point with her recommendations. Truly I would call Cheryl the Agents agent, and I do. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

This review is SO long overdue… Cheryl is simply the best. Anyone looking for the greatest and most competent representation when purchasing a home should hire her ASAP. My husband and I were looking to buy our first home in Marin County. We had something very specific in mind, and a strict budget to stick to. Not an easy task in this rough market. We worked with another real estate agent for around 9 months and things looked very bleak. We made multiple offers with no success. The other realtor actually recommended we either change our specs or start looking elsewhere. That’s when we reached out to Cheryl. The difference was just incredible. She was so personable but also professional. We really felt like she knew exactly how to handle our situation, and we also felt extremely taken care of. Long story short, we were able to purchase the very first house that we made an offer on with Cheryl. We were blown away. She then hand-​held us through a tough inspection and renegotiation process, and found a way to make it all work. We bought our ideal house, and it was definitely thanks to Cheryl. If we ever need to sell or buy again there is no one else we would work with. She is the greatest!

A true «gem» in the real estate business. Cheryl instills a calmness during trying times of selling a property (I tend to stress out). She works her magic to reveal your property in its best LIGHT (as I replaced 21 light bulbs upon her advice to properly show off the features in the condo unit)! Aside from her fabulous network of cleaners, painters, and stagers is the positive energy she puts into listing the property to make sure your property goes on looking its best, while still conscious of a seller’s budget constraints.
Cheryl Spence truly values her client relationships and is always available at a moments notice to get to work listing your property. For several years we considered listing our property and would check-​in with Cheryl to see if the market was ready, and she would immediately get back to us after running comps and talking with mortgage lenders to determine the down payment percentage for buyers to get the property funded (as post-​real estate bubble, funding and condos became a tricky business in SF). This year the timing was right to list our condo, and within 2 weeks of emailing Cheryl, she assembled her task force and had the property «beautified,» pre-​approved by lenders, and posted on the MLS and other social networking sites. Within 45 days of emailing Cheryl to discuss listing the condo, our property closed seamlessly, and she kept us updated the entire time with phone calls, emails and texts.
In the real estate business, it is hard to find an agent you can totally trust, and Cheryl has proved herself more than worthy. When we originally purchased our condo, Cheryl represented the seller, and 10 years later sold the same property, but as OUR agent. Cheryl Spence and Jupiter Real Estate Group exceeded our expectations with the sale of our condo.

Cheryl is fantastic. This was my first house purchase and I most definitely needed hand holding along the way. She knows what she is doing and has great attention to detail. For example, during closing she noticed a $ 7,000 error. Long story short it is customary in Alameda county for the seller to pay the fee (I had no idea), so after she pointed this out she was able to reduce my costs by $ 7,000. It goes without saying that I’ll be calling Cheryl for any future real estate purchases.

About a year ago Cheryl helped my family find the perfect home in Marin. It was a long process that we started the summer before the actual close on our new house, but it was well worth the wait. We love Cheryl! My husband and I closed on a house last month after a pretty long search, which was mostly due to our very tight budget constraints, and specific expectations. (We needed a 2 bed 2 bath with an enclosable yard and ample storage, for less than average market price, and we were only interested in Sausalito.). It took several months for us to find our home, during which time several «almost it’s» came on the market. Rather than be motivated purely by the commission of a closed sale and push us into a home that was almost right but not quite, Cheryl was always completely supportive and let us know that we shouldn’t compromise our needs; the right house would come.
And it did! We are now in a 2 bed 2 bath, in Sausalito, with an enclosable yard and storage galore. Cheryl was the best agent anyone could ever hope for; she was constantly available, unflappable during our panicked phone calls, and always beating the street to get us the inside scoop. She truly went the extra mile for us and I can’t recommend her highly enough.

I don’t suppose you’re going to see a lot of Realtor Unilocal reviews where the lender for the BUYER of a property is reviewing the real estate agent for the seller, but this will be one of them. I worked with Cheryl recently in such a situation and she was helpful, cooperative and allowed us the room to do our job to provide the buyers of her clients’ listing with their financing. This type of cooperation may seem obvious to the general public, but across many transactions one learns that it is not always the case — as some agents prefer to exert their influence and impose a «us vs. the lender» approach to getting things done. I was impressed by her professionalism and based on it, look forward to working with her again in the future. Great job, Cheryl, and thank you!

I can say that she is a super platinum 5-​star service person I have ever worked with. Her first and last principle when working with me and my partner is «My Customer First». We have worked with her for a month and she could walk us through all obstacles until we bought our first time property without any trouble. Our concern is always her first concern and she would work with us even after office hours or even after her dinner. We are amazed with her performance through all recommendations and connections. Not only we now own an amazing loft condo in SOMA area with her assist, we also got a great loan program with less 10% down payment and no PMI introduced by her connection of Union Bank.
We enjoyed working with her so much that we could not believe we got a lovely loft in just a month. We definitely will continue to keep contact with her because of her charming personality.
