Every Child is An Artist offers so much more than just painting a portrait or drawing some fruit. In my studio, imagination is cultivated, children are taught how to problem solve and the right brain is strengthened. Unlike much of todays curriculum in which correct answers and rules prevail, in art, judgement wins. I teach children how to slow down, appreciate color, sensation, texture, emotion and feeling. I believe art nurtures the whole child. And it’s fun!
History
Established in 2010.
Am a native New Yorker, moved to the west in 1994. Graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a BFA, worked in publishing for too many years unsatisfied, unfulfilled, took up teaching because I adore children and wanted to be around LIFE and ZEST and SPARKLE and HONESTY. Felt a strong pull to take a chance and marry the two things I love best: art and children. The universe said do it, so I did. My motivation and passion comes from a long journey of healing that I walk and continue to walk. I bring consciousness, awareness, kindness and nurturing to my students and to my classes. There is no other way I would rather spend my days.
