While the staff here nice… Management has changed 3 times since I’ve been here. Amanda the current manager is smart and has ideas to address issues I’ve had with lack of surveillance and people blocking and ditching their vehicles obstructing others. While I like their ideas for changes. I hope to see them actually take place.

Yes, I am a fan of this storage facility! Great customer service, clean and secure units and accessibility whenever we needed. Many of our local friends use this facility – have for years – that says it all!

I’ve been here twice in the last year for two separate moves (haul drop off and packing boxes and material). Very friendly staff and great customer service!

Millbrae station lies to you to move in ! first off the only security cameras on site is only at the gates wherecyou enter and at the elevators None in the upstairs unit at all or in the hallways on the first floor so if you are renting there take a body guard with you as you might get mugged from the homeless people living there ! Forgot to mention the storsge units dont have alarms either.

We needed a rental to pick up a bedroom set we got online. We drove to Millbrae, CA from San Francisco, CA. We told the guy behind the counter at Uhaul we needed a rental for a few hours and that we would drop off the rental in SF, where we lived. He said he would check if he had one we could return in SF and told my girlfriend he would charge $ 55 for the reservation and later we’d be charged a final fee around $ 100. Then he told her where to sign and initial. «Sign here to deny insurance, initial here, sign here» etc etc. He told her to leave the paperwork in the glove compartment and handed her the keys.
Our final total fee was $ 241 including the $ 55, for a few hours for a rental we feel was a lot but since our bedroom set was really cheap we were ok about it. We picked up the set drove it home and set it up. Then we dropped off the rental at Uhaul on Bayshore Blvd in San Francisco. When we got there they were closing. The guys told us to park it and leave the keys on the drop off box. The next day i received a call that we were suppose to drop off back in Millbrae and that we would be charged another day. Another $ 241 is to be charged to our card. Ridiculous!
So i guess when the guy in Millbrae told us «hold up let me double check, i should have a rental you can take that can be dropped off in SF» he was lying. Just trying to take our money, make a sale. Makes no sense for us to pick up a rental in SF then drive to Millbrae and then back to SF. Since we get charged more for the miles we drive it and more cause we have to return it with a full gas tank. So thats why we picked up in Millbrae to then drop off in SF. Less $.
I will NEVER use Uhaul again or suggest to anyone to use their services! We are very upset with our experience and upset with both the guy who helped us and the manager. The manager was rude and told us there was nothing they can do, that it was our fault for not reading the contract, and that there was no point in us reaching to anyone else because where ever we called they would tell us the same thing. She never even apologized for our bad experience. We still insisted in getting their complaint departments phone number but they just transferred us. Which was ok i guess.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO SOME WHERE ELSE! USE ANOTHER COMPANY!

I would recommend using another company for better customer service and to avoid billing problems. I was a customer for many years without incident, but they failed to cancel the autopay credit card charge after I moved out of the units. I had called the month before to arrange the move out and was told the autopay would be canceled, but it wasn’t. I called four times over three weeks and was told that a manager would have to review the account and call me back. I never received a call. I would’t have imagined that it would have required more than one phone call to fix a billing error, but I was forced to dispute the credit card charge. With so many companies our there that don’t make such errors, or can fix errors immediately, I would never recommend this company to someone I know.

Guy at the front desk tried to cheat me and my fiancé by not applying a discount that uhual promised us. He said that all discounts were already on there if uhual gave us any discount. We told him hold on we will call uhual 800 and see what the deal was. He said regardless he would not be able to apply any discounts at this location because he was unable to. When we called they said that they noted the account and the guy should be able to see the notes. When we mention that to him, he all of sudden was able to find the notes and apply the discount. This place is shady. There were four other guys behind the desk listening in and none of them said a word to him. Use budget next door if you need a moving truck

Just wanted to make sure that this location gets the review it deserves for Uhauls. Service was great. They even allowed me to switch to something smaller on site since I rented something too big. I dropped off the keys on a Saturday night after they closed and everything was charged fairly and on time the next day. Recommended!

Called to ask about pricing and available units. We went around and around about what size units were available vs. what size I needed. Supremely unhelpful.
I just want to know what units are available! And a price range! And not feel like I am inconveniencing your world, even though you are at work!
I had an overall sense that I was a bother to her and she was unwilling to help me. Why would I want to rent a storage unit from someone like that? God forbid something goes wrong…
I am taking my business elsewhere.

The Manager or Supervisor is an inconsiderate manager!!! I jst had my bone marrow biopsy & she wanted me to go to the storage to pay my bill, I even said that my unemployment check will be coming in with in the week. She said if I don’t go there right @ this minute they will break the locks & have my things for auction. They should replace her!!!

What a great experience, people and place!
I was given a choice of different storage areas and their flexibility was amazing. Even when I found out I needed to double the space, they did everything to accommodate, and give me the best price in the city. The crew there are top notch. I was treated with respect, talked to as an individual and not just another person passing by.
There were not hidden charges of any kind and the place was super clean and very accessible.
Beyond that, while moving in, my movers never showed up so desk lady and desk guy (sorry for not remembering your names) were so awesome, they called around, and even though it was the end of the month weekend, they managed to get me two great guys that worked hard and just did everything with a smile.
Also rented the u-​haul from them so it was an all around great experience.
Heard horror stories about other storage places, but the opposite was true with Millbrae Station, it was just great all around.

Amazing service! Not only did the lovely ladies at the counter make a very good suggestion saving me time and possibly some money, they were kind enough to lend me a hitch for the trailer I was renting (I didn’t have mine handy). Proactive, professional and customer-​oriented!

I would not even give this establishment a single star if I have a choice. The manager «Cindy» was very rude and judgmental. She’s only nice and sweet (two-​face) when you’re still renting but the moment you give them notice to vacate, her true skin comes out. Some employees would waive fees but when you are to pay and talk to Cindy, she would not even honor what the other employee gave. Cindy would say that the person is not authorize to waive fees. NOT the customer’s problem. But to get it over with and not to deal with Cindy’s unprofessional approach, just pay and move on. They are under staff. Half of the time I have to deal with their maintenance person because Cindy was on indefinite leave of absence. Poor guy he doesn’t know what he was doing. And if you happen to go after hours, sometimes the gate code won’t work. VERY FRUSTRATING!!! So, if I were you, stay far far away from this facility.

I forgot the guy’s name, but he opened the joint an hour early to accommodate me, which was greatly appreciated given our challenging moving schedule.

amazing experience with my uhaul rental. they are not there to get advantage of you, these guys really seem to be sympathetic to the fact that moving is a horrible thing. They were both so professional (Mike and Peter, but we mostly dealt with Mike), polite, and friendly. While we were getting our truck a customer beside us was renting a storage unit, Peter was so polite explaining everything to him. They really impressed us. We started our moving experience really well thanks to them

I swore off uhaul after a bad previous experience, and begrudgingly rented a truck from this location for my latest move, and I couldn’t be any happier with the service that I received. The people were so polite to me, and they were so fast and helpful. I would rent from this location again, and I would recommend others to do the same.

Wow, finally a great UHaul experience. Mr. Martinez was fantastic. Trailer was clean and ready to roll. Paperwork with simple and Michael was a pleasure to work with. Much better than the place in Belmont where everyone seems to be a foul mood.

I had a pretty lame experience here…
Firstly they assigned me the wrong passcode ID so when I came after hours with the rented moving truck I could not get into the unit and no one was available to help. secondly I was charged after I got them to cancel my unit due to the incorrect pass key given out, I was billed the following month. I was able to recieve a credit from them from the 2^nd month but my initial charges from the initial set up fees I have yet to recieve that credit. They have never answered their phones in person for me. It always rings and goes to an answering machine. I’ve left about 7 messages and I’ve gotten call backs about 3 of those times… still awaiting the initial credit back to my account from 2 months ago… I don’t recommend this place currently… If I get my credit back I may improve my rating, everyone makes mistakes and I can’t hold them in permanant negative light as things can change over time… but the slow refunds, incorrect pass key assignment, inefficient call backs… these are all areas I would need to see improvement on…
UPDATE: 07-​27-​2012 I recieved a physical check for the amount of initial deposit they owed me, so I have just imprved my rating some from 2 stars to 3 stars… wish the telephone answering and call backs could improve next…

I was in a real pickle Sunday after firing the movers for complete moving insanity. Me and my wife had our life in boxes on the sidewalk with no help or dolly. She called and they had one available. I rented it with ease and finished our hell move. I returned it a day late and informed I owed for the late return. It turned out it was not in the system and the kind woman waived my charges. I offered to pay and she assured me it was fine. I was not out for any freebies and they saved my ass on short notice. I owe them this positive review. I was honest and she returned the favor when she could have charged me and made money on an undocumented equipment piece. Class! Honest business is hard to find. I will take my next moving crisis down to Millbrae, you should, too!

Very nice staff. Clean environment. Parking can be limited. Plenty of flat bed to use. elevators!
