If you really want to get a clean cut then make sure you get it done by either Victor or Mai. Them two are the ONLY ones who will actually listen to what you want and make sure it comes out exactly how you like it. Other two ladies don’t know too much and are not as good as Victor and Mai.

Place is always packed on the weekends no appt
Best time would be early in the week around noon.

I used to come here in high school after my friend referred me to this place. I used to get a haircut from Larry. He was not that great, but back then I didn’t really care of my hair. I stopped going for a bit, and just 2 years ago I started to become a regular again every week. My go-​to barber is Mai. She is so prestigious at doing tapers so if you want that fresh taper, go to her. I stopped getting tapers and started to get fades, and they come out just as good. I used to be mad picky with my haircuts, but since Mai is so used to my hair, it comes out A1 all the time. I’d advise that going to her may result in a long wait. It’s no problem for me since, most of the time, I’m first in the morning. They have implemented a sign in sheet for people who come before opening, so if you come before opening, check the door to see if there is a sign in sheet! Wait times for Mai could be very long, but the wait is worth it. Other barbers can cut as well such as Josie or Victor, whom is very good with fades. All in all, Serra Barbershop will remain my go to shop for as long as I live in Milpitas. Consistency with Mai is always there, and Victor and Josie will never disappoint.

One lady with light brown hair was really nice when we walked in (to bad she was already busy). A man offered to cut my husbands hair, but I guess he couldn’t cut his hair how he asked so he told this other lady with red ombré hair to cut it. My husband was really indecisive to the suggestions they were giving him and I guess the lady got annoyed and told him to sit down and look for a hair style he’d like online and it didn’t take us long to find one. My husband went back to her and explained how he wanted it and she said she was done for the day (which I doubt) and sat in the chair. It was 5:30 and they don’t close till 6… Moral of the story, they got mad because my husband didn’t want to cut his hair like how they were suggesting. I get that they can refuse service to anyone, but like if they’re being rude but we weren’t. So we just stood up and left, they’re rude and really unprofessional. Never going there again.

Serra Barber Shop is a Milpitas landmark. Loyal customer base. I’ve been coming here for more than 10 years because Mai’s fades are on hit. Which is why the line is always out the door. The only bad reviews on this barber shop are from people afraid to use their real names or real pictures. Come into the barber shop and you will understand why the Town supports Serra Barbershop.

It took me awhile to find good barber like this place. Some times though, to get an hair cut by Mai you might have to wait long time. You should try other barbers there, which I did but I liked Mai cut worked best for me.

I get my son’s hair cut by Mai all the time, she’s great with kids my son is so comfortable with her.

5 stars for Mai! My boyfriend used to go to another shop in Milpitas but his normal barber moved to a different shop further in SJ. Being that we live in Fremont, we rather not drive deep into SJ. Luckily we found this gem on Unilocal and have been coming here ever since. Its super small so you should call for an appointment or see how long the wait is. Mai is super friendly and always gives him a fresh ass cut. Pricing is good too, no bs jacked up prices for a pretty atmosphere here.

I come here frequently after my friend Ryan recommended this barbershop. Yes, there are a bunch of Asian barbers in this shop, but I can absolutely recommend Victor to cut your hair every DAMN time! Victor is thee man when you’re looking for a fresh cut and he’s normally off Monday and Tuesday just to warn the rest of you in advance! I’ll go there and wait for Victor only because he really knows how to fade and clean you up!

I can tell you that all of the workers here cut hair really well. I’d love to come back but these girls got in a fight in front of me one of the days I came in. Some hood rat status, world star hip hop hair pulling type ish. Feels very very awkward for me to come back but other than that the hair cuts never disappointed. I’m just sad to have been the one to see that squabble.

I’ve been going here for about a couple years now and I never get disappointed with the cut. Fresh cut, clean blades, nice shaving/​after shave, and a really nice group of barbers. I usually go with Mai but when she isn’t there, I go to any of the other barbers and they do just as great. Check it out for yourself.

I liked the place all the way! It was time for a haircut again, and I’ve never explored the Milpitas area before. Serra haircuts had great reviews here, so I went. The haircut was inexpensive and simple. The stylist was friendly and helpful, and the guy handling the cashier was funny!

This is the only place I go to get a haircut. A very relaxing environment. I’ve been going here for almost a decade. Each and every one of the barbers here cut really well. They are masters at their craft and are able to cut any style upon request. My personal barber here is Tina.

Josie is my regular barber and damn she can cut! Mai is good too but you need to wait 3 years in line for her haha. Overall the environment is chill.

Showed up with four people cutting hair and four people waiting. Was told to sit, it would just be a few minutes. Waited an hour and a half while random people showed up and somehow cut my place in line without a word spoken. Finally gave up and left.
This place has no organization, no coherent walk-​in or appointment system, and from what I could tell each haircut took almost an hour even though it’s basically a buzz shop (didn’t see a pair of scissors touch a head of hair). It’s also impossible to find on a map or GPS and is cash only.
Taking my business elsewhere.

I have been coming here for 4 years since my family moved to Milpitas and I always get a great haircut.
The price is reasonable ($ 16) for men’s haircut and this place especially good at cutting the hair very short and blending it on top. They are not afraid to cut it short and they always get it right.
One of the reasons this is a great barber shop is that I always get a neck shave and that really makes the cut feel complete and clean. most barbers shops don’t do neck shaves after the cut anymore, and I love that they do this included in the price of the haircut.
Be prepared to pay with cash only and wait in line to get the haircut, and to listen to the Vietnamese employees gossip about who knows what they talk about while cutting hair, but they are nice people and always friendly to their customers.

Hands down for the best barber in the bayarea My :) just call ahead of time to see how long is the wait… it can be a long time. My husband and two boys come here and every time we do it takes about 1 – 2 hours sometimes even longer JUST CALL FIRST… it’s a first come first serve basis. REMEMBER IT’S CASH ONLY!

I’ve been going here for 4 years and never had any problems, but today I received THE WORST haircut. I asked for a simple bald taper. But before I could even say anything I end up getting all my hair cut off. patchy and uneven so much it looks like a bad military cut. I respectfully payed, however when I went to pay the guy tried to keep my change as tip. I told him there was no way he was getting tipped and was lucky that I even decided to pay.
Safe to say I won’t be coming back, even after 4 years. They have lost a longtime customer. Really disappointed w this place.
