With the closing of Sunol Golf course, we now play golf here quite often. We always look forward to lunch. Great service and the food is always excellent and fresh.

Every year we have a dinner event organized at this venue. The food is always plenty and satisfying. I got the steak with mushroom gravy while my other co-​workers got the salmon. I am told that the salmon was exquisite. The steak was a hit and miss to some of my colleagues. For me it was big and juicy just the way I like. My plate (it was a buffet) was loaded with roasted potatoes, ceasar salad, herb bread, roasted carrots and green beans. I enjoyed my plate tremendously. But the best thing about it was the strawberry cheese cake. It is highly recommended!
The down side on this place is the service. The servers would go their way in pouring iced water despite being told by some that they can’t have iced beverages. Hot water was requested and they said they DO NOT HAVE HOT WATER. And I was still eating my cheesecake (we were the last to be served with the dessert) when one lady server asked if she can have my plate «if I was done»…I am like, Hello! (Here’s your sign…)
I like the food and the breathtaking view, and If the management can improve their employee decorum and service then it’ll be top notch overall.

Had the Vegetarian sandwich which was Awesome! Been there twice in one week. The mountains around are just enough to visit this restaurant and relax.

Stopped by for lunch last week. Beautiful afternoon at the course. Had the Philly Cheese Steak and devoured it in around 3 minutes. Great sandwich and service. I’ll be back soon.

This is going to be a biased review because…
1. I never golfed before and it was at Spring Valley Golf Course where my golfer cherry was popped!
2. It was free! (Company event) 18 holes+ dinner = win win win!
3. People there was really nice.
4. The ‘scenic’ view was pretty. Minus the weird squawking peacock who lived in a house near by that sounded like it was in heat…
5. Good food. The roasted chicken I had was better than expected.
Now I haven’t been to a lot of golfing places but for a first timer, this place rocked. We played «scrambled» tourney style and I «wowed» some of the members on my team with my lucky driving shots.
I like that they had easy and harder «cross the water banks» holes.
The free beers didn’t hurt either.
And I LOVED driving my golf cart (G.UI. ‘golfing under the influence’ all day). The turning radius was wonderful and the «oh shit» handle bars were put into good use.
Overall. I had a marvelous time!

This place is one of the best places to have lunch in Milpitas. If you are looking for a great place to have basic American food, I would highly recommend it. It is relatively inexpensive and offers a great view of the foothills. The burgers are among the best I have ever had and I also enjoy the Club Sandwich with Avocado. If you eat there for lunch plan to be one of the only people not there to play golf. I do it once a week and they don’t mind at all. Parking can be a little bit difficult because the upper lot is usually filled. If you don’t mind walking up hill a bit, then there is plenty of parking in the lower lot.

The only reason I don’t give the restaurant at Spring Valley Golf Course 5 stars is that this type of restaurant does not warrant 5 stars.
I work in Milpitas below the hills and this place is somewhat convenient for a 45 – 60 minute lunch. During the spring and summer it is really nice to sit outside as long as the yellow jackets are not in full swing.
I’ve been to this restaurant frequently and have never been disappointed. I’ve had their burgers, chicken sandwiches, steak sandwich, chili dog, tuna melt, caesar and house salads and they have always been excellent. They probably make one of the best burgers in the bay area. I’d say top 10 at least.
They are also fast and very friendly and they have good beers and a full bar. It isn’t fancy but it has good food. I don’t recommend it for breakfast though. I’ve ordered breakfast for lunch once and it wasn’t great.
