I worked with Cliff today. The day started with a phone call to Speed Sports Inc. to ask about a car I saw on craigslist. The car was a fair price out the gate and was really clean. The night before I drove an 11 durango at a dealership that smelled like smoke and had greasy fingerprints all over the headliner so this rig instantly had me ready to sign on the dotted line.
We went took the vehicle for a test drive and noted a couple concerns. After the test drive we came in and told Cliff what we experienced. He said they would take care of one of the problems then we sat to work numbers and financing.
I am an ASE Master Technician and Automotive Instructor, as such paying for a warranty is a waste of money. To Cliffs credit, he tried a couple times but did drop it without pressing too hard. We signed documents and were told we had perfect timing, there were a 2 other couple interested in the vehicle we just signed on. They could have easily pressed us and made us uncomfortable, tried to encourage us to pass so maybe the next customer will buy that warranty and other items offered. But they didn’t. They sold it to us for a very reasonable price.
I would suggest them to others.
The owner was in, and he seemed pretty cold. I have worked for dealers and even the coldest owners could muster a smile for customers, checking in with the customer and verifying everything was going well… I know owners have a lot on their mind, but a smile would be a whole lot more inviting! We were the only customers in the show room. but he was walking around the showroom at times, with no acknowledgement that we were even there. Cliff, the salesman I was working with, helped me to overlook this. Great attitude, friendly gentleman, totally adorable son!
I got the car I LOVE, for a price I was happy with. How can I not give it 5 stars?!

I came here because of an older import I found through an online search. The salesmen I spoke with seemed polite and respectful. Their prices seemed reasonable. Fortunately, I took the car home overnight and dropped it off at my go-​to mechanic. They found that the car had damage from multiple crashes that had been covered up, and several safety warnings had been disabled to cover up the fact that the airbags didn’t work. Neither of the salesmen, nor the owner, mentioned these things when I asked specific questions about them. I dodged a bullet, and if you are looking at a car here I would strongly recommend having it examined by a third party.

I just bought a BEAUTIFUL car from Speed Sports and Cliff has been SO helpful. No pressure and super helpful. It has been a pleasure working with them and I will be back for my next car for sure! Thank you for all the help, I am so happy!

I was a frequent shopper of this car lot and was always impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the sales people on the lot.
I came across a car that was a perfect fit for my brothers first vehicle and decided to purchase it and was assured by the salesman as well as the manager that it was in good condition and a clean title. They stressed the «as is» purchase… Should have been a red flag. My brother just received the salvaged title for his totaled vehicle.
Needless to say I am not impressed and Speed Sports has just lost a once very interested customer. I will be spreading the word.

Best place for buying any kind of vehicle. Top quality service, and excellent selection to choose from. Cliff does an excellent job finding cars that fit the bill. We have bought 3 from Speeds Sports over the last year, and have been very pleased. Another plus about Seed Sports is their full service garage — they can arrange just about anything from the head gasket in your Subaru to the painting of your Maserati. They did a lot of the initial maintenance on all three cars, and everything seems to have held up well. I keep the German under cover, and drive one of the others most of the time.
A lot of the cars at Speed Sports are worth buying for the longterm, especially if you are looking for a luxury model, european, other higher quality vehicle. This is also a good place to look for any kind of unique model, like an SUV for a small business, or a rare, classic /​sports car.

So I changed my review to 5 stars because of Matt’s quick response to wanting to fix my car, but it turns out they didn’t fix much when I took it back to them. I have had issues with my A3 ever since I bought it from them… the AC has never worked in it and it has always clunked into 1^st gear from 2^nd gear (which I mentioned to them when I brought it back after the day after I bought it from them… they replaced the starter since it was having issues within hours of me driving off the lot!!). I had a friend look at it last night who is a mechanic for exotic cars (who has done work on cars that go through Speed Sports — he rolled his eyes when I mentioned them and said they sell poor quality cars). After he took a quick look at my engine and drove it, he told me my transmission was bad and needed a new one… and it would be thousands of dollars just to repair the AC. Matt claims that he didn’t have the car for long before it was sold to me… but I watched it being advertised on craigslist for weeks! I traded in a vehicle with 0 issues (and they offered me less $ for it than a dealer had the same day) because I wanted this A3 that I was told repeatedly had no issues and had been completely inspected.
A close friend of mine was looking to purchase a nice porche from Speed Sports, but when I told him that’s where my car was from, he never went back to them.
Don’t take the risk of dealing with these crooks.

Two year after purchasing a VW Jetta from Speed Sports and the car is still running excellent. Never have had any problems with it. Thanks again!

After first looking for a Porsche, I found a BMW Z4 I thought was particularly attractive on Craigslist, being sold by Speed Sports. As an Olympic photographer and author of books on photography, I was particularly impressed with the volume and quality of images showing the car in great detail. I’ve never seen a better photographic presentation of cars for sale on Craigslist than what they presented.
I called Speed Sports and spoke with Josh, who ultimately took care of me throughout the process of buying the car. The main reason I decided to drive from Seattle to Portland on spec to see the car was that the images were so great, and Josh was so very helpful beforehand. He ensured that if I drove down there, everything would be taken care of if I in fact «did the deal» and made the trade of my VW TDI Wagon for the BMW (or something else, if I saw something I wanted).
My normal impression of going to a car dealer is that it is like going to the emergency room: It always ends up being more expensive, taking way longer, and being far more painful than you ever think it will be. Well, Speed Sports, their staff, and Josh in particular proved that theory completely wrong. From the get-​go, they were ready for me, and did everything to help me take as much time to make the right decision. All the paperwork was ready, they took care of financing (my car payments dropped by $ 350 a month!), and were 100-​percent on top of everything.
There were a couple of minor things with the car that needed to be addressed, such as a cowling in need of replacement under the windshield wipers, a loose panel on the soft-​top, and a broken retractable drink holder. They put in writing in the contract that these would be fixed.
I left with my new Z4, all smiles. They shipped two of the parts to me within a week, and had a hard time getting the drink holder for some reason. Instead, they asked me to go to a local BMW dealer, get the part, and they would pay for it by credit card over the phone — which I did, and it was no problem.
Throughout this process, Josh stayed in continual contact with me, followed-​up, happily extended my temporary plates, managed the interstate registration, and essentially did everything and more that I ever expected from buying a car.
Finding a good card dealer that minimizes the pain of the process and optimizes the pleasure of shopping for a fun new car can be a challenge, to say the least. I have since recommended several friends to Speed Sports, and I will be turning to them again in the future for my automotive needs. They are a class act and as good as it gets when it comes to buying a cool ride.

Looks my review was removed. That’s very rude! I had way higher expectations of Unilocal!!!If only I didn’t have to mark any stars here!!! They didn’t deserve EVEN ONE STAR!!! In 2014, a single mom of two (me recently divorced) goes into a dealership to purchase a vehicle. I have also just sold a house. Had a little cash, after dividing a profit from that sale with my ex. Found a car of my girly dreams. What does a girl know about a car? NOTHING! Except that it looks nice, shiny, sporty (if you are like me into sporty cars). Cliff was very helpful and persuasive! They talked me into pretty high down payment and at the same time didn’t do such a good job at at least finding a good, low percentage loan company. I am currently paying 14%!!! Also talked me into getting warranty for my new purchased vehicle! Why didn’t I think that they knew that something was really wrong with it and they were covering their behinds? I don’t know… I was vulnerable, I know nothing about cars, I thought that it was gonna help me in the long run. Paid close to $ 5000 grand for warranty. Left this shit hole dealership on my Mercedes. Happy for two weeks, until we decided to go on the road trip with my two kids to California. I noticed that something was really wrong with my AC. On the back it was blowing HOT air! I took it to that same dealership before my trip to have it fixed! They couldn’t do it that day, their mechanic was working on MORE important project! Told me to bring it that following monday! Well we were leaving on sunday! Warranty…hmmm what is it for again? Well they told me IT might not be covered!!! I ended up RENTING a car for my trip!!! It was already scheduled, hotel reservations made, kids looking forward to it. More $$$ spend. Took it in after my trip, they didn’t have proper equipments! Oil was leaking also, they didn’t have parts! Had to wait for them to order. Even AFTER they «fixed it» it was still dripping!!! So there started a CHAIN of my car falling apart!!! By the way I still had to pay something every time they fixed another problem. I even tried to take it back and exchange it for another car, nope. They wouldn’t take it!!! My credit score dropped and I didn’t qualify no more. So here I am stuck with this car. Couple month later I was driving to eastern washington, on the road my car started up acting strange. I barely made it to the nearest exit and it stopped !!! Belt just ripped off. If it was on a freeway? I was so tired of dealing with this piece of junk that I decided to go to another dealership and I was even willing to pay the difference for another car, just so they can take this one (trade it in) Well HERE comes the surprise!!! They pulled up car fax report! ITS BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT in california a year before I bought it!!! No dealership (good one, not like Speed Sports) will take a car that has been wrecked and sell it to another poor person!!! So here I am stuck with this car $ 500 monthly payments for it and multiple expenses to come!!! Called Cliff told him everything. Did they help? NOPE! they deny everything lol! Called another time and spoke to guy named Josh, who was friendly up until the point where I said it was their responsibility! From then on his friendly attitude was GONE WITH THE WIND! BY THE WAY FORGOT TO MAKE IT CLEAR! THIS IS 2009 MERCEDES CLS550 WITH ONLY 40K ON IT when i bought it!!! First of all it now sound very suspicious to me that the mileage was so low. I spoke to people and have found out that it could of been messed with (speedometer) So Speed Sports called me back (Josh guy) and said that they are willing to help me! For a second I got excited! Until he asked me how much money can put down for my new vehicle from them!!! Are you kidding me??? Now I am asking for help from people who have been in the same situation as me with this dealership… Please contact me (here I guess with your comments) so no other vulnerable person looses their money! Last month I purchased a beautiful Porsche Boxster S from Speed Sports and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The buying process was un-​rushed and very low pressure. I took the car home with me for a few hours and was able to look it over and give it some thought. I realize that’s a typical auto sales technique, but it was also quite nice. Edwin, the Finance Manager, was helpful when we negotiated the deal and quite upfront about his costs and what he had to get for the car. The paperwork was completed quickly and I was on my way with my shiny, red toy. Also, my wife and 1-​year old were with me and they treated them well and with respect
One of the things missing with the car was a 2^nd key. Plus the existing remote key had a flaky button. I went back in and spoke with Steve from their service department who called Sunset Porsche and setup an appointment to get me a new key at their cost. That was a great extra touch.
The final point was when today I received a check from them for overpayment on title fees. I was floored, as this is something I would have never known about and a less reputable dealer could have simply pocketed.
If you’re looking for a used import, you could do much worse than the great guys at Speed Sports. I will start my next search for a car with them.

On March 12, 2014, I went in to Speed Sports to purchase a BMW 335i. Upon purchasing, the sales person informed me that all the features that were listed were in working order. Since the car came with so many features and the sales person does not know the feature that well (For example I asked him how to set up Bluetooth hand free device and he had no idea). I accepted his good well stating all the advertised features were in working orders and bought the car. Speed Sports did not provide me with any user manual so I had to go home and downloaded a manual myself and going over the feature myself.
After downloading the manual myself at home and started trying the features, I realized
The dealership removed the naviagtion DVD and never put it back
The Bluetooth hand free device does not seem to work
I immediately contacted Speed Sports letting them know the issues and they asked me to come back the following day to have them take a look.
Up on returning the follow day, Speed Sports got me a navigation DVD which I later learned from BMW dealership is defective and they cannot figure out how to set up the Bluetooth. The owner of Speed Sports and the sales person asked me to bring the car back to BMW have them take a look, or repair and they will take care of bill for me. I talked to the owner of Speed Sports one more time on the phone and he asked me to have the car repair and gave him the receipt and he will take care of it.
I brought the car back to the Portland BMW dealership the following week on March 20, 2014 to have them take a look of the Bluetooth, BMW informed me that the Bluetooth device was broken and the Navigation DVD is defective and I had the Bluetooth device repaired with BMW like Speed Sports asked me to in the first place. The Bluetooth was a total repair of $ 984, and the Navigation DVD is going to be $ 250. After I obained the receipt and dropped it off at Speed Sports the following day and was told the owner will get back to me soon.
From March 21, 2014 to May 10, 2014 I made numerous phone calls to Speed Sports and asking their staffs for the status of my refunds and asked to speak to the owner but the owner was no where to be found and the staffs always told me they will get back to me but I have never heard from them.

First off this place takes the BEST photos I have ever seen while looking for a car online !!! Just bought a 2007 A4 I’m more than stoked Cliff Richardson is a nice guy and didn’t beat around the bush about the sale. I went through a nightmare with seaport auto. I won’t recommend buying a car or even going to that chop shop. This place had an awesome extra coverage plan called TITANIUM ask about it. See if you can get this on your vehicle. For 25 bucks a month that’s a great price for more than just a piece of mind. This is bumper to bumper full drive train warranty it covers the car from A-​Z absolutely worth every penny. Now the car price was already awesome so I asked if he could do a couple little repairs to the car if I bought it. No questions asked, he made it happen. This was also the fasted I have ever been in and out of a dealership. I would highly recommend Speed Sport to anyone looking for a super clean well inspected pre– owned luxury car. About 3 ½ years ago I had an awful experience at a new car dealer down the street. At that time I swore that I would NEVER EVER step foot into a car dealership again.
Fast forward a few years and it is time to get a car. I am a man of my word and I am not going into a dealership.
I started researching vehicles on the internet and decided to look at a used vehicle from a private party. I looked on Craig’s list and low and behold there was the perfect car but it was at a dealership. CRAP!
I emailed the dealer and said if they wanted me to consider the car, they would have to bring it to me to test drive. I got a response and sure enough Cliff brought it over.
After a quick drive, Cliff suggested I take it for 24 hours to really make sure this was the right car for us. As it turned out, it wasn’t the car and thank goodness they gave me time to discover that.
One thing I did learn was that this was where I would buy a car. I looked at the rest of the cars and found a different one. Of course Cliff suggested I drive it for a day to make sure. This time I was sure this was the car for me.
They took care of financing thought my credit union (at the exact same rate I would have received at my credit union) and I was out in 30 minutes.
There was one issue with the car that I pointed out prior to the purchase and they told me it would be taken care of. And guess what? It was taken care of. Steve in the service department took care if it perfectly.
I highly recommend you give Speed Sports a look if you are in the market.
BTW — I purchased a 2011 Audi A6 and it looks, smells and feels brand new.

I was on a serious internet and local search for a Bluetech Mercedes Benz R350. Was close on a couple local deals, but it never felt right. Found the Speed Sports listing online and made a phone call. Had great conversations with everyone there. Exchanged a few texts and phone calls and agreed to a firm price. Booked my flight from Sacramento to Portland and arrived Saturday morning to a perfectly described car that was freshly detailed and ready to roll. Quick test drive and the deal was done. No bait and switch whatsoever. Ended up buying an extended warranty which gave me extra piece of mind and was less expensive than other offers I had seen for the same.
Thanks to everyone involved: Cliff, Chad, and Edwin. Never met the owner Matt, but he’s got a great staff and a particular inventory that is unique and sets them apart from the pack.

I purchased a vehicle from Speed Sports about a month ago. The process could have not been easier. I was treated with respect and they listened to what I was looking for in a vehicle. I purchased the car for a reasonable price. I would definitely go back there to get another vehicle in the future.

Sales and… SERVICE? Yep. Way beyond the call of duty… Highly recommended and appreciated! Josh, Matt, Steve, and Jason… I couldn’t be happier with my 911 purchase. So easy to do business with and when I had a problem that went beyond any responsibility of theirs, they hooked me up. So happy with this establishment!!!

The dreaded feeling of having to shop for a car at a dealership. Can you feel it in your gut? I was on full alert walking in to this place but that quickly vanished.
I walked in and was greeted by Matthew. Now I am usually used to over dresesd, flashy watch wearing, slick sales type as we all are. However Matt presented himself as genuine and immediatly notified me that they do things differently there.
I let him know the car that I was there to see and he walked me over to it and handed me the keys. He said to take my time in looking it over, which I was able to in peace by myself.
I ended up buying that vehicle. It sold itself.
This is how it’s done people. Wish the rest of the automotive world would follow suit.

I hate to sully the name of a business, but unfortunately I just walked away from a transaction at this place because I was blatantly lied to.
We are searching for a new car and this week we saw a 2010 Honda Insight advertised online with a price well below what other dealers in the area are asking, so this past Saturday I came in to check it out. I worked with Chris Atterberry, who seemed like a nice guy at first. He took me out for a test drive and I was really starting to become attached to the car. I told him I would come back with my husband in a couple of days to talk more about it, and he really didn’t want me to leave without somehow attaching me even further, so he offered to let me take it home and try it out for a day or two. I told him no thanks for now, but maybe the next day when I was with my husband we would.
We came back the next day and decided to try it for twenty-​four hours. He showed us the carfax which said it had been in one accident with no air bags deployed, and after we asked about the actual condition of the car, he basically told us that because the airbags didn’t deploy, everything with the car was fine. We told him we were going to take it to a mechanic to be inspected, and he blurted out «You don’t need to do that! It’s still under factory warranty! Save yourself the money!» This was the first sign that something was obviously wrong.
This morning, my husband took the car to a reputable and Unilocal highly rated mechanic that works especially on Hybrids. It wasn’t long before the mechanic noticed bad damage on the under carriage of the car, and suggested he take it to an auto body place. It turns out that the bottom of the car had had a collision of some sort, and the framework of the car was so bent that the radiator had moved up about five inches and was now touching the muffler, a big no-​no. And if that was all bent out of shape, most likely lots of other things out of sight were damaged as well. The auto body guy showed the damage to my husband, who has no knowledge of cars, and even he could see that there were major problems under the hood, possibly thousands of dollars worth hidden by the bumper.
So today we came back to drop off the car and talk to Chris about it. We told him and his boss, Justin, that unless they paid for our mechanic to fix all of the problems, we were not buying the car. Of course we got the run-​around by Justin when we asked why he hadn’t disclosed the information about the damage and if he had seen it. He actually said that «We don’t really look under the hoods very much» Oh really?! He then told us that he would get it fixed and that when it was finished they would call us and we could have it inspected again by our guy. This entire conversation, Chris Atterberry, our salesman, was literally cleaning his fingernails with a staple and ignoring us completely. It is obvious they wont be calling us any time soon, and they will probably just find an idiot to sell it to who will have lots of car problems not long down the road.

So in my search for the somewhat-​close-​to-​perfect-​car, I stumbled across an ad on Craigslist for a lovely little Subaru wagon. Went to the website and perused the inventory of cars… then emailed the owner about said Subaru.
Hmmm…
I was going to be in Portland for the weekend anyway, so why not just call?
And so I did.
And the sales guy wasn’t a douche.
So we drove out there.
And then I test drove the car. And then C test drove the car.
And then we chatted.
For about 10 minutes.
And then I was signing papers & trading in my Volvo.
And now I have a Subie wagon that I’ve named LuLu & we are very happy together.
