Established in 1965.

Barnwell House of Tires has been serving the Mineola community since 1965. We are a 3rd generation family owned and operated business. Our mission is to keep your vehicle out of our shop by providing to-​notch car care and great tires. We take pride in fixing your car the first time and not installing parts you don’t need. Hopefully your car is working great, but if not we are here to fix it.

I have been going to Barnwell for years and they have always been my «goto» place for auto issues… They are reasonably priced and they have 100% of my trust. T.J., the owner is a gentleman and will explain anything that needs to be done to your car in a way that you’ll understand.
I can’t say enough good things about their staff. They are a great crew of people
who seem to enjoy their work.
I highly recommend Barnwell and know that anyone who went their from my recommendation was always satisfied with their service.

Service isn’t great. Very expensive. But what really tops it all off is the guy behind the counter. I’ve had to deal with him on 2 different occasions and both times he was nasty and rude.

I had a 40k mile service… brought it to toyota… they did in in a couple of hours and I also had a headlight that needed to be replaced… toyota guy tells me i need 4 new tires and it’s not the light but the whole system behind the light that needs to be replaced…400+ dollars for the light and 800 bucks for the tires… i left… brought my car to barnwell tires… totally honest guy i met with told me he just needed to change the light bulb and gave me 4 new tires… all for around 400 bucks… that’s an 800 dollar savings… car drivers great and light works like it should… i wish all auto shops were as honest and reasonable as this guys place… was very pleased and will be going back for anything i ever need relating to cars… very happy

I called prior in the week and set up an appointment for sat at 7 am. When I get there the guy behind the counter gives me an attitude saying the guy who does the tires is not there yet. I said I made an appointment but that didn’t matter. I waited over an hour just for the right person to come in. The place was totally empty except for other workers. I couldn’t believe nobody else knew how to change tires there. The name of the place has Tires in its name — lol. Bottom line– horrible service and way too expensive. Not sure why people prefer these places rather than a car dealerships service department. They treat you so much better and the cost is comparable. I definitely won’t be coming back here ever again.

The guys at Barnwell are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I have been taking my car there for over 2 years and have been very happy with the service I have recieved. My whole family actually goes to Barnwell for all our car needs and we all have nothing but good things to say! You can trust Barnwell with no worries at all. Highly recommended!

Opens at 7 am on a Saturday. Thats great for the early riser. Went in without an appointment for an oil change, inspection and a tire rotation and had the car before noon. Everyone was nice. They let me know my front brakes were getting low but they should last me until my next oil change. Seemed like honest people. I would come here again.
