This is my go-to for bomb bar food. The steak sandwich as well as the braised beef sandwich are almost always what I choose. The beer selection is quite extensive and I have always have enjoyed my meal.

I don’t even know what to say about this place, I can start off by saying if you live anywhere in the twin cities metro this place is worth a try! They take elevated bar food to new heights, I love to check out all the places guy goes on triple D and the first time there I didn’t even know he had been there, the waitress mentioned it and my eyes lit up and opened wide! I excitedly asked«What did guy have?» and she knew right off the bat, the beer braised beef sandwich and the steak sandwich. I ordered the beer braised and my partner ordered the steak, they were both just everything we wanted them to be and more! If you love some dang good food then you know words just don’t work sometimes and you have to taste it for yourself, so if you haven’t tasted this place for yourself, go to Buster’s and get your taste on! Needless to say, we have been back many times since and everything on the menu always holds up to their high standard of deliciousness! Their service is equally superb, with consistently super friendly and quick service we have never had a bad experience! Not to mention the place is a full bar with tons of drink options for every taste, tons of beers, amazing hard ciders, indoor and outdoor seating options… I could go on forever but you should really just stop reading this and go check this place out for yourself!

I had a pretty great burger, so I’m kind of surprised that I’m unwilling to click that fourth star. I think it’s just because the overall dining experience was just a-ok. It might be because I’m feeling extra envious of those who can eat dairy – all I wanted to do was order one of their starred meals(that was on Diners and Drive Ins) that is topped off with an oh-so-necessary portion of cheese(which my boyfriend did and scarfed down). It’s really not their fault. The only criticisms I have(and they are barely that) is that the waitress seemed unenthused to be there and working with the public(as a former server, I don’t blame her), and the onion ring/ketchup dish debacle. As a person who usually uses way too much ketchup, I sigh every time my meal is served with a tiny dish of ketchup(versus a bottle at the table). They do this here. Then they serve huge onion rings. Then I try to dip said onion ring. Then I sigh again when I’m forced to fold that beautiful«O» in half.

Saw Buster’s on Diners Drive ins & Dives while I was out here for work. Stopped by and had a good overall experience. Typical bar scene for the most part, nothing fancy. The staff is very chill & friendly. I sat at the bar & the regulars around me were cool & engaging. I had a Fulton 300IPA(was told the best IPA in Minnesota) which was good. I ordered the steak sandwich with sweet potato fries & that was delicious! Tender juicy steak, yummy homemade blue cheese sauce with grilled onions & homemade chips on top. Two thumbs up to a cool, little spot if you’re in the area.

This is a small rectangular place that has multiple booths on the left, tables in the middle, and the bar area to the right. The place seems to be busy enough, but typically there shouldn’t be too long of a wait. Food items are your classic gastropub style, from burgers to mac and cheese and salads. My expectations, based partially on the high Unilocal reviews, as well as that intangible promise that the menu gives off, were not met. I tried the pretzel and was less than impressed. I had the mac and cheese, which did not exude the cheeziness and comfort that I wanted from it. My friends tried other items, including the salads, and did not really enjoy it. All in all, it seems like the food is about average. However, the potential to be greater is there, which is why it seems by comparison to be a bit of a let down.

5 stars for atmosphere, service, and beer selection. But 3 stars for the food. And since food is important to me, I have to go with that and not the average between. Among my friends in the neighborhood, I am in the minority in this. They rave about the food at Busters. Personally, I have yet to be wowed and I have had pizza, sandwiches, and appetizers there. It is all plan and very average. Now, at one time, they had mussels with sauerkraut and kielbasa. That was WOW. But since I have been back, they no longer have it on the menu. I will keep going back because I love the neighborhood bar atmosphere. But I will only eat there if I forgot to do so elsewhere.

Great beer selection and the pork wings are fantastic. The rest of the menu looks tasty but I will have to come back to try more.

So I have been to busters 3 different times and will not be going back. The first two times I went I left feeling indifferent. The food was mediocre at best. I really want to like this restaurant considering its a local neighborhood joint with a long beer list but the last visit just sealed the deal for me. This might be the most over hyped restaurant I have ever been to and the long wait times don’t add up. The review: Yes the homemade chips are a great concept but it was literally salted to death. Each time I get them they get a little less potato in the center and are overly fried tasting like a store bought bag of chips. The burgers felt cheap and tasted like frozen patties. The toppings were skimpy and fast food’ish. Yes, the beer list is long but the ironic thing is, only a few beers pop out. I love a server who is available and accommodating but… We sat down ordered our beers and shortly after that she asked for our order… for more beer before our food. Overall not all that impressed by this place.

Great neighborhood spot. Buster’s always has a great selection of rotating beer on tap. Their food is quite nice as well. The wings and home made carmelized onion dip are one of my favorites as well as their brunch. The staff is always friendly and willing to recommend a beer or a meal.

BLUF: This place was outstanding! Highly recommended. Order steak sandwich or beer braised beef sandwich! Saw it on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and very much lived up to expectations. The beer selection is extensive and includes Paulaner Hefeweizen(great German beer). I had the beer braised beef sandwich and haven’t had a more tender or juicy sandwich of meat and not had the bun fall apart. My wife had the steak sandwich and I couldn’t choose which I liked better. The stake was cooked perfect and topped with a great house made fresh blue cheese dressing. We also got an appetizer of the pretzels and beer cheese. The pretzel were fantastic but the beer cheese was pretty lack luster although not enough for me to drop my rating.

I finally got to Buster’s for brunch and it was definitely worth the wait. I used to come to this neighborhood spot often before the fire, but haven’t been back as much since, but I will need to get it back into my normal rotation. I got the Buster’s Benedict, which was good. Others at my table got the crab cake Benedict and the Hiawatha hash and everybody was satisfied with the meal! I think I’m going to get the Hiawatha hash next time I go. I think I actually like busters even more for dinner, to be honest. When I’m trying to be healthy, the portabella sandwich is delicious — I love the pesto sauce… Also the brisket sandwich is very good… I don’t know that I’ve ever had anything that I didn’t like. I also like the new lay out since the fire. It’s not significantly different than the old set up, but it seems more open, you can see the tvs better, and the new bathrooms are an upgrade.

Had the Kielbasa mussels and they were scrumptious. Fresh, in a tasty broth. Kielbasa made for a unique coupling. Superb craft beer offering on tap. Opted for the flavorful Ommegang Hennepin farmhouse saison!

My family group of 6 adults and a 7&8 year old ate dinner here for the first time, around 5pm on a Friday. When we arrived they weren’t busy yet, and they nicely put together some tables for us. By the time we left they were busy for sure. Our waitress was friendly and did a great job bringing out food & more drinks. We all liked our food, especially the vinegar & salt chips! My husband really liked his steak sandwich and the onion rings too. I had the spinach and arugula salad and it was very good, although I didn’t see arugula — just spinach — I figured that the arugula may not have been quality enough to serve, no problem. Since I don’t eat meat because I follow a Whole Food Plant Based lifestyle for health reasons, I enjoyed the Veggie burger made of Butternut squash, sweet potato, wild rice, currants and bread crumbs. Served with lettuce, tomato, onion, and our basil aioli. It was nice to try a new twist of Veggie burger instead of the usual black bean burger. I happened to realize just after we got in our car to leave that I had lost an earring(a rainbow colored bead — I love those earrings) and when I called the next day to ask if the cleaning crew had found it they were very nice and took my number and said they’d ask around. So far — 8 days later, no luck, so dear reader if YOU find it please contact me through Unilocal! Thanks.

First time here. Saw this place featured on Diners Dives and Drive ins. I was impressed with how the homemade potato chips are made and brined for 24 hours before they are fried. Fresh bread from a bakery next door. Quality ingredients from the home made blue cheese sauce and homemade ketchup. Yep, this place makes everything fresh and the hard way; which makes it taste amazing. I love the steak sandwich and the beef sip and chips. Stop in give them a bite of you are within 30 miles of the joint. They have burgers sandwiches fries, sweet potato fries, hand made chips, soups. Casual atmosphere in the middle of a regular middle class neighborhood. Bam! Get you some!

Wow. Attractive neighborhood bar/restaurant with seriously amazing food. Dad had the Gyro burger with potato/ham soup. He really enjoyed it. He really enjoyed the flavor of each one. I had Chipotle Chicken Sandwich with their house side salad. Sandwich was topped with bacon, Gouda, and avocado, with jalapeño/cilantro aioli. YUM!!! Their salad of spring greens had a lovely vinaigrette on it. I appreciate the quality food and friendly service. We’d definitely come back again and recommend this place to others.

I think I have found my new neighborhood joint. Do these things, and it can become yours too: 1. Order their Soft Pretzels with Beer Cheese sauce Because Beer Cheese sauce. And because it is ACTUALLY soft pretzels. Like something this 30 year old geriatric doesn’t have to graw on in order to enjoy. 2. Your guest will order their Kettle vinegar and salt chips. Since ordering two appetizers just for yourself looks weird especially if you also order… 3. Their Bison Burger. Your friends order the Gyros Burger, Steak sandwich(It was on TV) and their Braised Beef sandwich. All of you don’t talk for 20 minutes while you inhale your meal. Talking is for people who don’t have awesome burgers 4. Order beers from their substantial beer list. Yes it has a lot more IPAs than warranted but that is the hipsters fault not Buster’s. IPA + Hipsters = Puke but proximity to Uptown cannot be helped. 5. Sweet potato fries and homemade ketchup sauce. Guard these with your life. They are likely to disappear when you go to the bathroom. 6. Rinse and repeat.

I’m so excited about this place! I’m already in love with the block its on with bakers wife and angry catfish– busters is smack dab between them on 28th. Brunch menu is spectacular and hearty. Breakfast burrito with chorizo was killer– spicy and memorable. Even better to get a choice of side(I got fruit). Hubby wasn’t feeling breakfast, so he got the shrimp taco appetizer. He said they were so good he doesn’t know if he could ever order anything else. On my short list to try is the Reuben and a burger– saw them both come out and they looked delicious. Also tried the pretzel app– 6 big slices of fresh pretzel with cheese dip. Great way to start the meal. Tried the walleye Rachel as recommended by our server. Sandwich was tasty on fresh toasted pumpernickel bread. Walleye filet was small, but taste made up for the size. The fries were other worldly both in taste and portion. I had to throw my napkin over my plate to keep from eating them all! The patio only has 5 or 6 tables, so those are definitely prime realty as the fall rolls in. If the patio is full, the inside is quite large with lots of comfy booths. This is a new neighborhood favorite.

Once upon a time, I moved to Minneapolis. Everyone said this place or that place had good burgers, but for the most part they were hyper-salty and overcooked, even when you specified for them not to destroy the flavor by removing the world-renowned hot, pink center. I got sad. Really sad. I long reminisced for the delicious burgers of Anderson Township, OH’s ATP or even that of Chili’s, because in comparison, this just didn’t seem like a burger town. On recommendation, though, we checked out Buster’s. I’ll skip the service and all that jazz because if you know me, you know I could give two craps about that so long as I get my food in a decent amount of time. Let’s talk about these onion rings. So, they’re onion rings. Crispy with a batter that slides right off. Forgiveable, as they then become scoop-shaped chips for the amazing 1554 horseradish sauce as well as an outstanding(guessing homemade) ketchup. That’s right, these guys do something unique — they have ketchup. That ketchup, mind you, isn’t sugary or watery or packed full of artificial colors, it’s just freaking delicious. Rich, tomato taste with a hint of spice rounds the plate and becomes a perfect home run. Rounding the plates that followed were two delicious burgers. I got the gyro burger as I figured that no place in MN would have a good beef burger by this point, served with the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever tried. My girlfriend got a side salad with their standard burger. She couldn’t finish it so I was fortunate enough to try hers as well. The lamb burger was moist and juicy, not overcooked as many do. I don’t fear a little pink in my lamb because if you’ve ever seen or heard of kibbeh nayyeh, people have been eating raw lamb(and I mean completely undercooked) for centuries. So it did have a little pink upon my request of «medium-rare». First points towards 5 stars came here. It wasn’t ultra-salty like most places in the Cities make their burgers, and the whole damn thing tastes like meat. It was rounded out by a lovely tzatziki sauce, citrusy and with a strong herbal flavor, and fresh vegetables. When I tried the regular hamburger? I was in heaven. Perfectly cooked. Outstanding, flavorful burger that tastes like meat. This is gonna be a place where I find myself a regular. Frequently. All the time. Every day. There, I said it. One more note on the burgers before we move to the sides: They both had freshly baked buns from the place next door. I have never encountered a bun so soft or flavorful from any place, unless it’s been slathered in butter, but still — nothing as soft at the very least. It’s closer to a fluffy dinner roll than anything. The fries, they were a religious experience. As an avid fan of sweet potatoes and their derivatives but all encompassing hater of the soggy, droopy crap that a lot of places try to pawn off as «fries»(though when done right, I’m all aboard), these things were out of this world. Perfectly seasoned and stiff, soft, but not quite overly moist or burnt like most places do. My girlfriend kept raving about how wonderful the salad was long into the night. A salad, y’all. That means these guys literally managed to do nothing less than perfect. 5 stars. Bravo. Excellent performance. And if you’re curious about the service and by that I mean you absolutely INSIST, one lady handled 5 – 6 tables with ease and was exceptionally friendly. I’m here to rate food but I’d give the service just as good of a score. Whoever owns/runs this place, I want to hug you.
