French photographer Jonathan Charpentier (JC) fell in love with an American woman and decided to move to the USA to marry her. Yes the French accent helped a lot. JC is now based in Minneapolis — Saint Paul (the Twin Cities), Minnesota, USA.

Since 2003, Jonathan’s work has been widely featured in exhibitions in Amsterdam, Paris, and now Minneapolis. Well I was 16 and took lots of landscapes, did the family photos, and then started to work for musicians and concerts. After 3 years of literature and language studies in high school (French, English, German, Russian), I went into the EFET photography school of Paris for 2 years. I became a photographer assistant at the same time in a studio in Paris. Then I shot my first wedding for my singing teacher and it was such a great experience that I wanted to do more weddings and family pictures. Added to commercial photography at the studio I then became a wedding, event, and portrait specialist.
