I had bought a Groupon based on great reviews and was looking forward to my ombré. The salon is cute and funky and located in a little plaza. I had wanted a honey blonde ombré and after my first time experience getting an ombré at this AMAZING salon in Austin, I figured while in Cali that I would try here since I needed a touch up.
I understood the additional fee of $ 20 for long hair coming in so I’m not upset with that (people, read the fine print before purchasing anything). What I’m upset about is the technique, or lack thereof, when it came to my overall hair process. She barely dyed my hair claiming that the few foils (my last ombré process had a ton of foil) she applied were enough since she wanted to give me a natural look. I totally appreciated her concern for giving me a natural look but in the end, my hair looked more like the tail end of a uniformed, single process dye that had grown out with the color being mousy brown than honey golden ombré locks on my naturally black hair.
After she had washed my hair, instead of blowdrying it, she left me under one of those vintage dryers to dry my hair! That was seriously a first for me… I really couldn’t believe it. My scalp felt like it was on fire and the whole time, she was on her computer in the other chair while her young daughter (?) was playing receptionist, answering phone calls. I was under the dryer for 20 – 30 minutes and she occasionally checked in to see if my hair was dry.
The haircut was fair since I didn’t ask her to do anything special, just a 2 inch trim. She curled me hair during which my hair looked great. However, I’ve since learned from this process to tell the stylist that I would like to take a look at my hair first before s/​he curls it so I can assess the cut, length and color because when your hair is curled, you can’t identify any problems. That is what happened so I left the salon with a mousy brown color and a 1 inch trim instead.
Maybe she was having an off day, I don’t know but I know that if she had put some effort into it, I’m sure the results would’ve been far better than my mediocre experience.

Love this place. Loren has perfected her craft. She is calm, patient, friendly and professional. I can only say great things about her and her service. I would definitely recommend her to anyone

I have been getting my hair done by Lorena at Glamor Hair Studio for over 5 years, and for the last 5 years I have loved my hair! I get stopped all over Los Angeles to get asked about my hair and who does it. Lorena is such a professional and a perfectionist, she won’t stop until you are 150% satisfied with your hair. She has such exquisite taste and a beautiful tasteful aesthetic when doing your hair. She doesn’t push her ideas or taste on you, she respects your demands. I am so incredibly lucky to have found Lorena!

I drive from Palm Desert to see Lorena for all of my hair needs. She is such a professional and handles her clients with the utmost respect. I would highly recommend her as she is an exceptional hair dresser.

They say the open at 10am, so I called on the begging of the week and made an appointment for today at 10:30am. I got there 10:15am and it was still closed, I waited until 10:40am, even tried to call the cellphone they have written on the door and nothing. Completely disrespectful!!! I would give a negative rating if I could.

Found this salon on groupon and I’m so glad that I called them. I called them to make a same day appointment and they were able to accommodate me. Loren did such a great job on my hair. I got nothing but compliments from my friends. Thanks Loren!!!

It’s been a few months since the time I visited this salon. I don’t like to give bad reviews, but in this case I feel it’s necessary. First off; the «master hair stylist», as she calls herself comes off as conceited, not humble, or welcoming. She didn’t make me feel comfortable, she was very short, and kept offering different costly add-​ons. She did ask what my husband does for a living, I felt she was trying to figure out my «status». She DID keep checking herself out in the mirror a whole lot. (yes, woman do this but not as constantly as Loren). she only talked about herself, mentioned she was going to a high class restaurant after the salon closed. She left me under the dryer and didn’t notice that it turned off at one point, when she walked by me she finally heard it was turned off. She turned it back on and walked away to get herself ready for her date. Finally, she probably knew what a terrible job she had done so she explained that she had to leave the treatment on my hair. She let me leave her salon with drenched hair, when the groupon included a blow dry. I know she also did this because it was getting late, and she wanted to get ready for her date. She offered me to go back the next day for a blow dry? Hello, pretty ridiculous??. Will never go back to this place, the groupon was for ombré but she did what looked like highlights that started at the base of my hair. Eventually, I had to get it fixed. The following hair stylist I saw couldn’t believe what a terrible job she had done. Maybe she could’ve done better, but perhaps because of her plans she rushed doing my hair, and covered it up by purposely leaving my hair wet with the treatment so I would not see the end result. I was embarresed to be seen. A little more caring for your customers would be nice, and there’s no reason to act so stuck up.

I had a wonderful experience at Glamo’r Hair Studio. The hair stylist did a beautiful job on my hair. I have very long hair and had partial high lights and a cut done; the color came out marvelous. Loren took her time with me, and treated me like royalty. She gave me great tips in keeping my hair healthy and strong. Since visiting, I have received many compliments from my friends and family. I highly recommend visiting this establishment, you wont be disappointed!

I wanted to initially address the negative reviews on here because my experiences have been nothing short of professional and my hair has honestly never looked better!
I was initially introduced to this salon after I purchased a Groupon. I made an appointment and came in for a full highlight with cut and blow dry. I’m usually pretty weary about purchasing Groupons for my hair but I decided to give this place a try and I’m really happy I did!
Lorena was able to completely transform my hair from a drab brown with awful orangey blonde highlights to a beautiful brown base with caramel and golden blonde highlights. I have been to tons of salons in the valley from Calabasas to Glendale and can honestly say Lorena has truly impressed me! I have gotten so many compliments on my hair that I had to grab a handful of business cards my 2^nd time there to give out every time someone stops me to ask me where I get my hair done, which seems to happen a lotttttt now. My sister and best friend are both customers of her now as well!
Moral of the story is. If you’re looking for great color correction, beautiful highlights or an awesome deep conditioning hair treatment, you need to try this place out. I promise you will become a repeat customer like I have!

I found Loren Glen salon via Groupon. I purchased the $ 79 dollar Groupon that included: full highlights, conditioning treatment, haircut and blow dry for myself and the $ 39 dollar Groupon which included: a haircut, treatment and blow dry for my daughter. And I’m very happy with my experience there.
The salon is really pretty and I was greeted fairly quickly as my daughter and I walked in, which was nice. But they did seem pretty short staffed that day. There were only two stylists plus one who was doing blowouts. I had scheduled our appointments in advance for 2pm on a Saturday and we weren’t serviced until 15 minutes before 3pm. Lorena was my stylist (I sensed she may be the manager but I didn’t ask) once I was in her chair I felt better about the inconvenience of waiting so long. She and the other stylist were working as a team helping each other out with all of us clients that were there. So I didn’t feel like I was forgotten or anything. They handled their busy day well.
I loved that both stylists answered all my hair questions and they both seemed very knowledgeable and gave me recommendations of different products and treatments that would help both my daughters and my completely different hair types.
Towards the end I had an event that I was running late for (I got the times mixed up) and I ended up having to rush Lorena to take the foils out and wash, cut, and style my hair. She did an excellent job on my color. I should have waited maybe another 20 minutes so the color wasn’t exactly how we both wanted but it wasn’t a disaster.
I loved how she didn’t stick me under a dryer like most other salon stylists would have done but instead she took into consideration the condition my hair was in and didn’t want to damage it any more. I’m using the product she recommended to keep my hair healthy and will definitely keep going back.

She Does Not Honor a purchased Groupon ! She tries to rip you off and charge you for more ! Do not Bother with this salon… Save your money there is lots of other Salons in the San Fernando Valley !

I loved the way the lady who did my hair did it, very nice but she wasn’t friendly at all. It was my birthday and I felt like she could care less, also my hair was barely past my shoulders and she ended up charging me $ 20 more on top of the $ 50 groupon I purchased and no where on the rules did it mention that, I was pretty annoyed about that. But she did dye my eyebrows for free which was nice but overall don’t think I would go back

It to get thinned out & get some style, I have really thick hair and I hate it, She did an amazing job on doing exactly how I wanted it & with such amazing style! She also made my hair look alive again, love it Thanks!!! This is gonna be my new go to place

I really liked how the stylist, probably Loren, cut my hair. She recommended that I cut a lot because my hair was so damage so I trusted her and now my hair is super curly the way it was when I was a kid!
She also recommended that I purchase this crème and it has mad my hair so soft and pretty!
I only waited about 10 min which isn’t bad…
The stylist who did my hair was gentle with my hair and I really appreciated that because my hair is like a lions mane…
But she was really honest! A little too honest! Lol she kept saying how damage my hair was and how dead it was! Lol but it’s ok, I can take some honesty!
The salon itself is pretty also… I was afraid of it being some ghetto hole in the wall but it wasn’t it was cute! :P
Overall I like it and I’d go back!

I would give them a zero if I could. I was next door at the tattoo parlor and i wentt looking to cut my hair. They made me feel like an idiot when I came in asking how much a cut was. They ignored me at first and then gave me an ugly look when they came up to me. I just walked out.

I had gone to a hole in the wall salon for a haircut … They left my long locks looking like a MULLET! I searched on Unilocal & found this gem! The owner Lorena fixed my disaster of a hair. I’ve been there twice in 3 weeks. 1 for the haircut & once for a wash & blow dry. Phenomenal job both times.
The salon is cute. The owner is kind & professional & big kudos for having a sign that reads «no kids allowed in the area where the clients & stylists are in» I don’t remember the exact words on the sign but you get the idea… LOVE THIS PLACE’
