RD Rogers Hardwood Flooring

From start to finish this was by far one of our best experiences in regards to getting work completed at our residence. Randy was very professional and knowledgeable about the entire flooring process. We had a water leak at our house and Randy had all the floor torn up and replaced exactly how I wanted it completed. I have already recommended him to my in laws and will again to anybody needing flooring work. My only compliant is not finding Randy sooner so he could have completed the work on the original installation.

You will not find a better hardwood flooring company. Trust me, I’ve used several in the past, and no one is as professional, careful, timely, or talented as Randy. My floors and baseboards are spectatular. These are new floors in a complete renovation, so they have really been the highlight of the project. I would highly recommend Randy and his company.

Randy and his crew installed laminate floors throughout my home, and they did an excellent job. He communicated well with me throughout the entire installation process, and his workmanship is beautiful. I have had many compliments on my new floors from family and friends. Randy is honest, trustworthy, and he always cleaned up each night before going home so I wasn’t walking around his machinery. I highly recommend him and would use him again.

Randy came highly recommended from my next door neighbor. She didn’t steer me wrong! I had tile and carpet replaced with beautiful dark hardwood floors. Randy and his co-​worker Drew did everything right. They showed up on the day (s) they were supposed to come, they were on time, they did great work while they were here and they cleaned up before they went home. I could really tell that Randy knew what he was talking about when it comes to hardwood floors. And, this was also evident in the end result.

Randy and his team at RD Rogers Hardwood Flooring resurfaced the hardwood flooring throughout my house, and did a great job with it.
A previous owner had clearly neglected my house’s floors, evidenced by their large faded areas and rough texture. I researched companies specializing in hardwood resurfacing, received bids from a number of them, and chose RD Rogers for the job. Randy was responsive, professional, and trustworthy. It became immediately apparent in speaking with him that he both knows more than you can imagine about hardwood flooring and available finishes, and he’s is committed to delivering top-​notch service to his customers.
The RD Rogers quote that I received included removing my old baseboards, sanding down the floors to remove the previous, worn finish, applying repeated coats of commercial-​grade finish, and installing new baseboards. In comparing different quotes, I looked into the quality of the finishing products that they included.
Although some quotes were a bit cheaper than RD Rogers’, they were apples-​to-​oranges comparisons. The commercial-​grade finish used by RD Rogers is very well reviewed, and fairly expensive. You’re paying for a high quality product that is going to make your floors look great and hold up to traffic. After asking competitors what products they use, it became apparent that they were cutting corners with cheaper products.
Similarly, RD Rogers’ service included installation of new baseboards. Some competitors will either try to work around the existing baseboards, or remove them and then reinstall them after they’re finished. Reused baseboards will look like exactly what they are — pieces of wood that have been nailed to the wall, torn off, and then nailed onto the wall again. Cutting corners there is asking to have tattered baseboards lining your newly resurfaced floor. My new baseboards installed by RD Rogers, by comparison, look great. They’re flawless, with the paint color matched perfectly to my crown molding.
Most importantly, I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the resurfaced hardwood floors themselves. Randy is meticulous. He ran stain testing on a spare piece of my hardwood prior to sanding down and staining the installed flooring. We discussed staining options, and he encouraged bringing out the wood’s natural tone rather than the red-​hued look that the house manufacturer stained with. Randy was right — the sample board looked beautiful, and the full flooring looked even better with his recommendation to avoid staining.
The resurfacing process took about a week between the baseboard removal, multiple passes of the sander, numerous coats of finish, and careful installation of new baseboards. In hearing Randy talk about carefully guarding against environmental contaminants, you can tell he cares about his job. Gardener working in the neighbor’s yard? Randy will ask them to reschedule, or he’ll change his own plans, in order to avoid the risk of dust entering your house and getting stuck in the drying floor-​finish. He really put the time in to deliver a quality product. The refinished floors have received a lot of compliments, and I’m grateful to the time and effort that Randy put in to the job.
