We had Regal Flooring install maple varied width wood floors on our entire main level. What a fabulous job. We could not be more pleased. Our salesman, Richard, was very patient with us when we had to adjust scheduling and constantly checked to see if the work was being done to our satisfaction.
Joe and his team did beautiful work prepping the base properly and were very congenial and friendly leaving everything neat when they were done.
Wes and Clemente, the installers, were not only a pleasure to have in our home but had work ethic that is hard to find these days. They worked nonstop 10 to 11 hours each day and when they left the final day it looked as though no one had been there… everything back in place where it belonged, the floors were perfection and there was no cleanup left to do.
You can never go wrong using Regal for your floor needs if you want the best at a competitive price.

Everything was fine while I was making selections and getting the order placed. A complete house renovation (new wood floors and all new carpet, plus tile materials … total order ~$ 30K). The installation day was terrible. They told me they would protect everything before starting to grind the concrete floor. Nothing was covered or protected. The lead wood flooring installer was extremely difficult to get along with. My home had just been completely painted, and all of the furniture was pulled to the middle of the floor and tarped. But Regal did not cover the walls or the large wood/​wrought iron staircase and just started grinding on the concrete. The lead salesman came by and told me that I needed to move all of my furnishings out of the house. These furnishings were in the house when he measured for the flooring and there was no discussion about having to strip my home of furniture. Funny thing was they were installing flooring at the house next door which is fully furnished too, but they were not told to move their furniture out. The salesman pulled his crew off the job and threatened to cancel the contract. I stood there watching this drama and wondering where the guy who was so interested in gaining my business went. We struggled thru this drama and they returned to install wood flooring. The installation is not great. There are many spots where the floor is not even so my furniture teeters. The problem was the installation method where they set large weights on the floor after the glue is applied. The heavy weights warp those boards and sticks the boards down lower than surrounding boards. There are hollow spots where some floor boards were not glued at the edges of the flooring. But, what really made me angry is that they took every piece of extra material and the remaining baseboard material — all material that I paid for. They did not leave one piece of material. There were places where the baseboards need to be finished so I had to go buy more material because the installers took every single piece without asking. I have no remaining material if something happens to the floor. Regal has a great selection, but I doubt I would let them do the installation. Carpet install was okay … not great. They put the pattern in different directions on the stair tread fronts. I’m done, but will not move forward with them to the next house that I am starting. I had high hopes for these guys but didn’t work out well.

I contacted Regal flooring and spoke with Scott. From start to finish he made the process easy and fast. Hector, the installer showed up at the scheduled time. He worked hard all day, his install was perfect. The finished product was beautiful. We have another home a couple hours north of Carlsbad, I sure wish Scott and his team traveled. I appreciate the honesty and quality of their work. I would highly recommend Regal Flooring, Scott and Hector.

Just realized I never updated this review but delivery and installation of our wood was great. Absolutely no issues. Two plus years later and it is holding up extremely well. I am now in the process of remodeling my main floor living area and have been back in the store several times, working with the same salesperson.

I went into Regal Flooring Center to get as much information as possible on vinyl plank flooring. Scott Bowen worked with me on finding the right options. He carefully and patiently answered all of my detailed questions, and when he didn’t have the answer, he called the manufacturers rep to get the information. He spent a great deal of time with me, always polite, considerate and extremely helpful. I would strongly recommend him for all your flooring needs. The store had an amazing variety of samples of all kinds of flooring. Having looked elsewhere, this would be my one-​stop shop! Great customer service!

After having Regal Flooring to install hardwood flooring on the entire upper level of our home and with the work having been done absolutely impeccably, I went back to owner Scott for installation of marble flooring for the living and dining rooms and a facing for our brick fireplace. The work, again, was impeccably finished. This addition transformed greatly the appearance of the rooms and the house, in general. Expected soooooo much more from this highly recommended business. They dropped the ball so many times, it’s like they don’t know how to play ball; or where the ball is: or care where the ball is; A long history of satisfied customers has just come to an end; maybe because the owner is phasing out and his son is taking over without the same ethics or attention to detail. I will advise my realtor, friends, neighbors, relatives, anyone who is considering REGAL to RECONSIDER, or they will be living a nightmare when renovating.
Should not be allowed into your home without booties and hand washing, even then; should not be invited into your home. What happened to my 10 star service? when I paid more than 10 stars worth of service I did not receive. Shameful

Regal just finished a big install in our new home and the experience was great, from start to finish. We were so indecisive when it came to selecting our wood and Fred was patient and offered great insight throughout the entire process and ultimately helped us find our dream floors (which no one else in the area could get a hold of). Our installers, Dan and his team, were friendly and accommodating to all the construction chaos happening in the house and they worked tirelessly and did a beautiful job with the installation. Everything looks and feels perfect. Highly recommend.

We were shopping around for carpeting for basically the whole house. We went to someone who was recommended and we left with a very bad feeling. Then we went to Regal Flooring. Fred was absolutely the most helpful person in the world. We were looking at several options and he compared quality and price and thoroughly explained the differences. He also helped in recommending the right color for what we wanted. The crew that came out to install the carpeting was fantastic. Al, Julio and Garrett were the nicest and most courteous men I could’ve asked for. They moved absolutely everything. I didn’t have to lift a finger. If I could give these people 10 stars I definitely would. These people are great.

It is just a week since Regal Flooring finished a hardwood floor installation in our home. The project consisted of flooring for an entryway, living room and dining room, den, kitchen and family room, hall, and bedroom, plus baseboard throughout the house.
If it were possible to rate this installation at ten stars we would do so.
To begin, our salesperson Scott put us very much at ease. Throughout the review of our rooms and the flooring selection process, he proved to be extremely helpful, making valuable installation hints, as well suggestions for the kind and color of hardwood flooring he thought might go well in our house. He also remains available if needed as the job progresses.
No flooring, no matter what the cost, will be any better than the quality of the installation. In our case, we were fortunate to have two installation masters, true artisans, Alex and Clemente (and Oscar, Clemente’s son on Saturdays). The quality of their work was without peer.
Alex and Clemente are neat, fastidious, and extremely pleasant and easy to have in your home. They always arrived early, even the two Saturdays they worked, and stayed past five.
Slab preparation is critical for a good hardwood floor installation. Alex and particularly Clemente spared no effort grinding and filling to insure a flat base for the wood.
They are also very capable of coming up with solutions for potential problems:
To overcome a difference thickness between tile in two bathrooms and a laundry room and the hallway hardwood, Alex came up with a transition header so that there would be no raised edge on which to trip. (There was tile flooring in the hallway and the kitchen and family room, which required demolition first. That was done with dispatch by another crew.)
In the den, to solve an original installation problem for a built-​in desk and computer printer cabinet, they managed to undercut two panels to the to allow disassembly of the printer sliding drawer section. This allowed flooring and baseboard to be installed properly; the desk is now better than it was originally.
In the baseboard installation, to overcome waviness of the walls, they caulked beautifully so as to make the problem almost indiscernible. They also made excellent wedge pieces to accommodate rounded corner walls.
When the job was finished, house and grounds were left spotless.
In sum, in case the reader has not guessed by this time, we are delighted with our new floors and everything about the job. We even loved Alex’s music.

I am very thankful to Fred for his help and making this process so simple for us. I called for a quote on the wood I wanted and Fred gave me his best price up front which was just under the best price I had received so far. Then I found out from a couple of sources including Fred that the wood I wanted was discontinued the prior month! My husband and I stopped by and Fred was so patient and helpful. We were having trouble making up our mind and Fred gave us his personal and professional opinion that enabled us to quickly make a decision we are very happy with. I will be recommending Fred and Regal Flooring to all my friends looking for flooring!

While visiting family in Carlsbad, I ran into a situation where I needed one edge ceramic tile piece cut. I tried several locations, Lowe’s, Home Depot… even the place were I purchased the tile. No luck. I went to Regal Flooring and they bent over backwards to help me. They were not able to do it in their showroom but hooked me up with Joe working at a job site locally. Everyone involved was awesome. Thanks guys for helping out!!! Definitely a customer oriented location

We put hardwood floors throughout the first floor of our new home, and we got quotes from multiple flooring companies. Regal Flooring was not the cheapest bid, but from the beginning, we felt that they were trustworthy and professional. There was no high pressure sales pitch, and the actual installation was performed with a wonderful attention to detail. One of the installers told me, «Every plank is a work of art.» I appreciate it every time I walk on the floor. Highest recommendation.

We were buying a new house and knew we wanted to get hardwoods installed upstairs. The builder was charging an arm and a leg so we had the builder install carpet and we said we’d get someone to install the hardwood after we bought the home. We called around and got three estimates. Regal flooring was not the very cheapest (all were in same close range), but at the end of the day it didn’t come down to only price.
We thought we wanted the stairs to be wood also. Scott and Dan met us at the model homes and discussed with us in detail the advantages and options available to redo the stairs. Unfortunately due to design of the house and budget it wasn’t really feasible in the near term to do the stairs. However, we did hire Scott and Regal to do the hardwoods on the whole second level of our new home.
We penciled in the target date of occupancy and asked that because we wanted the house done quickly — so we could actually live in it — could we get 2 crews of guys to work on the floors to get it done 2X as quick. Scott said we could — as we were scheduling out a month plus — as the house wasn’t quite finished yet. This was a big deal for us — as we were transitioning from Chicago.
Regal’s two crew started promptly the day after we took possession. The crew was on time, polite, hard working, diligent and cleaned up daily. The crew started by taking out the brand new pad and carpet and neatly rolled it. They knew we were going to donate the carpet to habitat for humanity so they were careful about taking it out in large pieces, rolling it and they even measured the pieces as required by Habitat. It was great that we were able to benefit a worthy cause with our newly ripped out new carpet and we got the support of the team to do that…
The hardwoods were installed in less time than originally estimated. I believe the original estimate was 8 — 10 days — as it was appx 2000 sq ft. The crew worked 6 days a week and the work was done in 6 days. We’d scheduled the movers for day 8 and told the crew that — so we all knew that if the trim wasn’t done by then — they’d be working around the movers… ;)
I love my new floors, they match the hardwood downstairs perfectly. The entire team was effective, conscientious about their work and the floors are beautiful. There was tile and travertine that the floors had to butt up against and the transitions were all handled very well. The guys even touched up the paint in the areas where there were inevitable dings.
Towards the end of the job, Fred the owner stopped by to check on the progress — which was appreciated. Knowing the whole team cares about the delivery /​installation is huge. Lastly, knowing this is a family run business makes this purchase even more satisfying.
I very strongly urge you to contact Regal floors for your work. We will be going to regal when we need to redo the carpet on the stairs and would strongly encourage others to give them a shot for their flooring needs as well.

We were referred to Regal Flooring and its owner, Fred, for our flooring project. We bought a house in La Costa back in April 2013 and the cheap laminate flooring that had been poorly installed was a mess. It was not installed correctly – namely, the concrete foundation was not prepared properly – and it had cracks and buckles everywhere. After obtaining multiple flooring estimates from local and national companies in the area, we were feeling disenchanted with the whole process. We couldn’t get answers to our basic questions, and felt like we were getting the runaround and were setting ourselves up for disaster.

After I first contacted Fred, he immediately responded, set up a time to come take measurements in the next day or two, and took care to understand our budget and our goal for the project. He recommended a beautiful acacia flooring that was exactly what we were looking for, and was able to get us a great price on it. As a first-​time homeowner and doing our first major project, we naturally had a lot of concerns and a lot of questions. Fred and his staff were patient, responsive, and extremely knowledgable and informative. Choosing them to do our flooring project was a no-​brainer.
Less than a month later, our entire project (1000 sq. ft. of engineered hardwood flooring in our downstairs) is done and we couldn’t be happier! The job was completed on time and without issue. I also want to give a raving review for the installer, Sam, who was extremely competent, respectful, and accommodating. Nobody likes having strangers in their house for a week during remodeling, and we were especially wary because my wife is currently on maternity leave with our 3-​month old daughter. But in line with the professionalism we experienced with Regal’s sales staff, Sam the installer was a true gentleman and we were immediately comfortable with having him and his team in our home.
