Established in 1996.

AutoNation’s roots trace back to 1996, when current Chairman H. Wayne Huizenga invested in an Atlanta-​based waste management company that later became Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Republic Industries, Inc. Republic Industries would go on to acquire most of the more than 321 new vehicle franchises the Company operates today, as well as several waste management and vehicle rental companies, before changing its name on April 6, 1999 to «AutoNation, Inc.»

if i were you, i would not waste my time with these crooks. they scammed me into a NEW car that already has transmission problems with 10K miles! the customer service sucked. i call up there everyday and have to leave messages just for no one to return my call. they are not trustworthy people. this car has given me nothing but problems. they sold me a LEMON of a car in which there is a law against that but yet they refuse to work with me, even with a FIVE THOUSAND dollar warranty and up to 100k miles! they are a bunch of crooks and liars.

One of worst service departments I have dealt with to date.
Brought my wrangler in here for weather stripping gasket and an oil change. They never called and told me the vehicle was ready. I had to call them.
I pick up the car, the woman behind the counter says the repairs are complete. I get home and a serviceman calls and says he couldnt repair the weather stripping because it was a kit that had to be ordered and he would call me in 2 days when it came in. Still waiting for that call…
Tried to schedule a service for my JGC for the back camera service. They couldnt take me for at least a week cause they tell me they are too busy…
