Holiday Inn Mobile West – I-10

Wish I had read the reviews. They are dead on. Smells and looks cheaply updated. Bathrooms are horrible.

This hotel was a welcomed sight when we finally arrived after driving for 8 hours. I was so relieved to see how clean it was and how personable the staff were. Especially Sage the girl in the restaurant that we had our comp breakfast in. She was very friendly and accommodating! She deserves a raise! Our comp breakfast was fresh, hot and delicious as was the coffee!
I especially appreciated our room because of our bad experience at a Red Roof Inn in Pensacola. I made the mistake of booking a room there for our trip to Florida. It was gross!
The room here at the Holiday Inn was spacious, clean and had all the amenities! I payed the same amount here as the dirt bag red roof inn and had much more for the money. Don’t waste your money stay here and get a great value for your money as well as great service!

This is the worst IHG hotel I’ve ever experienced. We had a first floor room (103) and it smelled like piss, it had paint peeling all over the walls, the fire alarm was dangling from the ceiling, the lock for the door that leads outside to the courtyard was broken, and he bathroom floor was sticky.
Our room wasn’t the only place that was in serious need of renovation. It was raining the next morning and water was pouring down from the ceiling in the main lobby area and in the restaurant, with buckets set underneath to catch the gallons that were coming down.
I took photos of most of the items and shared it will the gal at the front desk, who then showed them to the manager, and they didn’t do anything except tell me they’d fix it.
If ran a hotel and had half a brain, I’d be a little concerned about letting a customer walk out of my place with photographic evidence my dilapidated establishment without doing something to compensate them.
Bottom line, it seems evident that the owners of this place are running this facility into the ground. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Steer clear of this sh*t hole.

Good price. Super friendly staff. Close to everything.
Actual sit down breakfast instead of a continental. And it is included and that’s a big plus.
My first room had a bad a/​c system and they switched my room immediately without a question.

It is an older hotel but it has had a lot of upgrades.

Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. I’m deducting one star for the breakfast and one more for the wifi.
It’s not a buffet breakfast, you get a voucher for a free meal at the restaurant. The food was pretty good though. I stayed for six nights, I don’t get why they don’t give you all your vouchers at once. I only got one at a time, and had to go to the front desk each morning to get the voucher for the next day. That was kind of annoying.
To use the Wifi, you have to go to
on your browser. Chrome didn’t work, it was the one that says «internet» (I have an Android). The thing is, they don’t tell you this, and it’s left out of the directions. So, the wifi would automatically connect, and then wouldn’t work at all. The first day, I didn’t use it, and had to go ask how to get it to work. The guy at the front desk explained it except for the part about which browser. If that’s how their system is set up, they need to provide clear directions on it.
Overall, it was ok. I got a good deal on priceline so it was worth staying. I would stay again but only if I got that same kind of price. I paid about $ 60 per night.

We came here in search of Internet for a business meeting – as our internet was down. We were not guests at the hotel. The manager, Gerald, graciously let us use the business center and totally saved the day! We are so thankful and impressed. What a hospitable place!

We originally found the listing for the room using Triagvo, from experience with other hotel chains we decided to call the hotel directly and see if they would be willing to match or beat their price. It took awhile for the global booking agent to locate the hotel that I was referencing because I did not realize that the local number I called connected to the national reservation line (whatever). They were able to beat the price seen online and offer us a AAA discount on top of that.

I’m visiting Mississippi came to this Holiday Inn hotel for two nights. when I first walked in it was a beautiful Hotel the front desk was really friendly, nice staff I definitely would stay here again. I highly recommend this Hotel. I paid 119.00 a night

The service was amazing. Every front desk attendant i spoke to was so nice and accommodating. The rooms are nice and very clean. The location is in a good area around many other hotels and it’s right off the interstate. I actually booked this hotel thinking it was close to the area I was visiting. I was misinformed and actually in the wrong area of Mobile. I ended up having to move hotels for my trip.
I went down to the front desk hoping they would understand and not charge me for the second day I had reserved. And they didn’t! They completely understood and let me check out with only the one night I stayed charged. I haven’t been to many hotels recently, and I actually haven’t had to leave mid trip, either. Nonetheless, I would have not expected such great accommodations for my situation. They were great!

The only reason this gets two stars (instead of one) is the fact that the front desk staff was pretty friendly, and that it was conveniently off of I-​10 and was pet friendly.
Hotel room itself was as basic as you can get. The sheets, when we pulled back the covers, had a couple of strands of hair on it already, and the towels had some colored stains.
The restaurant… Really bad service. Mind you our waitress looked like she could have been a high schooler, but she maybe said a totally of five words to us. I received my meal first, and then when I was literally five bites from finishing, my husband finally got his meal (he got the steak and said his jaw was tired because it was so hard to chew!). Even then, the waitress did not ask ONCE if everything was okay. Just delivered the food and left and didn’t refill my water glass… but that brings me to my next point…
When we got the check, we checked the itemized receipt and… what? «Water…$ 2.00» …Come again? Did we really just get charged for regular tap water? We asked the waitress about the charge, and she said that water is only free if you don’t get a meal with it e.g. If you just order water and like, a coffee. If you order a meal with it, then she had to charge me the $ 2.00. How does that even make sense!!!
We also overheard the wait staff making comments about how guest ordering room service are not big tippers. They weren’t even trying to be discreet — just talking not caring customers are within ear shot! Not very professional in my opinion.
We will NOT be staying here again!

I’m only given the place two stars because the people that work here are very friendly. The rest of the hotel is in dire need of a renovation!

Bought this room on Priceline as a 3 star out of 4 establishment. Apparently Priceline just took their word for it. Old hotel which smelled bad with an old mattress in the room. Front desk was friendly but that’s where the positive ends. Do yourself a favor and shop for a room elsewhere.

Place overall is clean but outdated in the common areas. Staff was extra friendly and seemed to go out of the way to say something every time you walked through the lobby. Bed was comfortable. The toilet in bathroom needed mechanical attention in that it would run water in the tank all the time unless you jiggled the handle a lot.

Not only was this Holiday Inn waaaay understaffed, but it wasn’t exactly up to snuff with even a 1.5 star hotel.
Our room was fine, but the bathroom literally smelled like the inside of a gym bag. Now, I’m all for air fresheners and whatnot, but the smell needed something else. Pretty off-​putting.
Also, there was one employee on staff at night. For the whole hotel. That poor girl was running around everywhere with zero help.
Stay here again? Not likely.

I am currently a «guest» at the hotel. My only vehicle is in the shop so I cannot leave. The front desk staff are meh… I got into the room and it is very humid. there is no way to adjust the fan to run all the time. Temp is 65 and up no hi or lo on the fan either. I called down to ask for delivery restaurants in the area and he answered the phone with a «yeah hi front desk. Ms. Woodward you already want something?»
I told him what I wanted and he informed me for the third time that there was a diner and bar downstairs. I had looked at the very limited and expensive menu and did not find anything I wanted. So I told him so and he told me he would call me with the numbers. I asked for the names so I could look them up and he hung up.
Now I am calling down the list in the phone book because apparently no one in this town knows how to use Unilocal!or any of the other review sites.

I stayed here while traveling on business. The staff at the front desk was very cordial and helpful. The rooms have been remodeled to an extent, but everything smells like a wet dog with a 2-​pack a day habit. There are definitely better options in Mobile.

This might be the worst Holiday Inn in the world. Dirty, outdated, and cock roach ridden. The restaurant attached to the hotel is awful. The food takes forever, and when you finally get it, its nasty. Stay away!
