They did not listen. They did not do their job. They are slow, sly, and rude. They did not meet their deadline 3 times, they couldn’t of even diagnose my issue(which they said would take a day) until the parts came in(which was a minimum of 2 days), and they yelled at a customer and told me never to come back. This is not a business to deal with. Go find somewhere else. Here’s my story: I took in a computer with a freezing issue about 2 minutes after boot, no BSOD or dump files. I replaced the hard drive into a working computer, windows worked perfectly, no software issues. Therefore it was a hardware problem. First, I replaced the graphics card with a known working unit, problem still existed. Aswell as testing the graphics card into a working system, it worked flawlessly. Second, I replaced the ram with working sticks and moved the faulty computer’s ram into a working computer and still the problem existed and the ram worked flawlessly. I checked to see if the CPU was overheating, just to see if the recorded temps were inaccurate. I used a all in one water cooler that can take the most heavy heat loads. Still the issue persisted. With this knowledge and the power of deduction I knew it was either a faulty mother board or faulty CPU. Not having a replacement to test one or the other and being on a time constraint(as I had to travel to arizona in week) I took it into Data Computer. This is when I told them what I needed, «I need to know whether the motherboard or the CPU is faulty.» Aswell as notifying of the time constraint. The guy behind the desk assured me it would be no problem, cost me 50 bucks for diagnostics, and they would call me the next day. No call came. So late that day with about 30 minutes left of the store being open, I called to get a update. They told me they were unable to locate the problem but they had tested my video card and figured out it was not defective. I repeated myself to the guy and said I only need to know if the CPU or the motherboard was faulty. They said apologized and said okay and they would call me back the next day. Again no call, so I called back the next day asking for an update, getting a bit upset as I never got a call or anything. They told me that they«had good news» it wasn’t the RAM. I again angrily told the man on the phone that I only needed the motherboard and CPU tested. He told me that they were waiting on some parts for diagnostic purposes that won’t come in till tomorrow. They told me once again they would call me tomorrow and I can come pick it up. The next day roles around around 12 o’clock they gave me a call telling me, «the wrong part came in and we are unable to diagnose your computer till tomorrow.» I finally had enough so I ordered the both the motherboard and CPU online with one day shipping. The next day I received the parts(I was close to the shipper). Also, that day again no call. I call with 30 minutes left till closing and they tell me that they ruled out overheating. I lost it. I drove into Data Computer, he gave me a rundown in person of what he did(none of which I asked for). I asked to see the computer and railed him with how he didn’t do ANYTHING of what I asked. Finally after 5 minutes of him literally yelling at me he asked me still yelling what I’m trying to accomplish with this. I replied with I want the computer back and don’t believe I should owe on a service they did not preform. The man pushed the computer towards me and told me, «take it, take it, and don’t come back.» Moral of the story, they did not listen. They did not do their job. If you are at all competent with computers do not take it here. Their know how of computers is decent. But they are slow, sly, and rude. They did not meet their deadline 3 times, they couldn’t of even diagnose my issue(which they said would date a day) until the parts came in(which was a minimum of 2 days), and they yelled at a customer and told me never to come back.

Took my amateur build to them and they got right down to the problem; fast. My computer was back to me the next morning. They installed a new motherboard for me at a reasonable price as well as organized the internals, and showed me exactly what went wrong. Roger was extremely helpful and friendly. I’d come here over Geek Squad any day.

I have been working with Data Computer for over a decade now. Over this time period I have bought over 2,000 computers(Personal and Work). Many people are swayed into buying computers from HP, Dell, Lenovo, Compaq, etc. In a sense it comes down to the logistics of your organization, budget, personal preference, and a host of other factors. That being said, service and relationships are the deciding factor for me. Over the past 10 years, I have worked closely with both Ken and Danny(Brothers who own the company). They have been awesome in every regard: warranty, questions, exchange, repair, break/fix, etc. I noticed another review that indicated they were«Horrible», and although I can’t speak to his/her experience, I would say that most people have unrealistic expectations when it comes to computers. Over the 20 years I have been supporting large scale IT organizations and business environments, most of the issues with computers stem from a lack of user knowledge. If you don’t know what your doing, it is fairly easy to screw your computer up. 1. People think because their computer is «New» it should work flawlessly for years. 2. People think their laptop battery should last forever and be included in the warranty 3. People think that«I didn’t do anything, it just stopped working» I would encourage you to experience Data Computer for yourself. Ask for«Ken» and tell them what you are looking for. Bring in the specifications sheet or similar model you are looking at and ask them what they would recommend. Most of all though, own your level of knowledge. Don’t blame a company or an individual for your lack of knowledge or expertise. Maybe I have just been lucky for the past 10 years, but I would care to guess a relationship of over 10 years with multiple thousands of computers purchased, supported, and maintained might be something to consider over one persons terrible experience.

I would actually give it 0 starts if Unilocal allowed me to leave it blank — that is how bad this was. this place was HORRIBLE — worst customer service and do NOT take the time to listen — so much that I gave them important information in the beginning as I was explaining the issue — that they asked me questions as if they did not hear what I said which was the answer to those questions before they asked me. now I am someone who if I write a review I will take my time to write about it if I had an AMAZING experience — however this one I am writing even though it is not a positive review I don’t people to waste their time or get ripped off. I am female and am in the industry of computers, including hardware, software support, signature capture pads etc. however I will never claim to know everything and no when is something out of my expertise. first when I walked in the guy sitting there was doing NOTHING. he was not busy, was not helping anyone and was not on the phone. just sitting there as if he was waiting for business. I am not finished with this review — I haven’t even gotten to the part of how they actually spoke to me and treated me — will do that as soon as i have more time.
