Hot food bar needs attention! The food is mostly dry or burnt. Like their promotions though and they keep introducing new deals which i like. Parking is ample

This Giant Eagle is always busy. It seems rather small and gets crowded fast. They do however sell beer in the café area. That is the only real reason I would return to this location.

The kitchen sucks. Food seems like several days ago! Staff there do not recognize paper version driver license when purchasing beer, even manager doesn’t know it. I use this license to take flight and rent cars. The worst GE I have ever seen!

I like the giant eagle in ohio better I was in town for the colts steelers game in October 262014 on a sunday. I was in town long after the game. I came here to buy some food I got rigatoni and chicken bread pop. I got sick from the rigatoni. I mean I was on the toilet for a long tome. Edward who worked at the deli area was nice. I thought it was ok.

Out I all the Giant Eagles I’ve been to, this one has the worst produce. One time I went in the green peppers were literally rotting but they wanted $ 3.99 a pound. Don’t ever try to ask for help at this location too. You can tell when the harsh management isn’t around because the employees will ignore you and act extremely rude. Oh don’t let me forget about the eggs. The staff here must drop them a ton. My wife went through all of the large eggs before and every single one had one or more cracked ones! What does the staff say? Shrug their shoulders and stair at you. Do yourself the favor and drive to a different Giant Eagle because this location doesn’t care about the customer at all!!!

Still waiting an hour later for my prescription. I was told over the phone it would be ready in 15 minutes. Rest of the store is cool but this wait at the pharmacy is insane. This lady next to me was told to come back tomorrow after waiting for 30 minutes. Yikes!

I’ve gone to this Giant Eagle since I was in single digits. I love the renovations they have made over the years. I now live in Manhattan and this grocery store is still the litmus test for any place I go to fill my larder. I miss the two renovations ago lunch area, but the new one is great. The sandwich selections are not as diverse as Subway, but are leagues tastier. The hot foods are mostly fried American staples, but the Asiatic buffet more than makes up for the other. GE also serves up delicious soups. I recommend the Tortilla soup or whatever the variation of the Hispanic cuisine soup is.(I only come here about once or twice a year now.) This Giant Eagle also has an awesome selection of beers. I am spoiled by the bars NYC and Jersey has to offer, but my hometown has stuff I have only seen in the New York metro area. You want party light beers or Brooklyn hipster craft beers come to Monroeville’s Giant Eagle!

I am here so much that people might think I work here. :))) It’s my one stop shop! I can get all my weekly staples, prescriptions and essentials. I try to avoid it on the weekends and especially on Sundays! It’s like club GE on Sundays with Starbucks and even a band playing in the brewery section! Lol. They stay stocked on the main items like milk, bread, butter, cheese. They offer a variety if fresh fruits and veggies. The meats & seafood are generally fresh. The bakery section is above board, as is the deli and hot order items! The sushi is fresh too! There are gourmet items and an aisle for ethnic foods. There’s even a beauty section now selling brands like Philosophy. On the downside, I noticed that they’ll stop carrying items without explanation, labeling it discontinued with a 50% discount. You could ask their buyer to carry items and they’d likely consider it. They also stopped making Gobs? Why? I don’t know, but I loved their Gobs. Also the lines for the prescriptions, including thr drive thru, can be very long at times. Overall, it’s a great shopping experience and the store tends to be clean too.

The one thing I’ve discovered about Giant Eagle is that the quality of the store depends on its location. I’ve lived in Penn Hills and the two Giant Eagle stores nearby were nowhere near the quality of this one. Shame on Giant Eagle for not being consistent no matter the location. This venue is top notch with a wide selection of produce and meats. I’ve found everything I want at this store and it is clean and brightly lit. The one issue I have, however, is that the entrance is poorly designed. It is always clogged and barely passable either coming or going with people and carts in the way. What’s with that mess?

Giant Eagle, Monroeville, is huge. Huge and beautiful. If you are willing to search(as in scavenger hunt search) you will probably find anything that you are looking for… This is the store that you go to for the big run-your-house grocery orders. Giant Eagle, however, wants you to believe that you’ve walked into a gigantic«specialty shoppe». You’re greeted by a Starbucks and a sweeping vista of produce. Hot bars off to the right with a great little café that is fed by the impressive deli. If your ID says so, you can get a beer, too! — Hubby and I have tried the café and it’s a pretty convenient and tasty lunch with the ambiance of… well… a grocery store. The deli has everything from sushi(which isn’t bad!) to Isaly’s chipped ham(which is completely inedible, seriously, Pittsburgh I cannot understand the draw here). Sushi prices are not bad, all deli-cut items are crazy high. And the deli service is slow — never properly staffed. They have a separate cheese department which is always manned by a cheerful staff who are friendly and knowledgeable. Which is good, because cheese can be a pretty big ticket item. The bakery and meat depts — both are full service and the staff are fabulous all the way around — very accommodating. Pharmacy? Yes! With a little known express checkout on that side of the store… and the Citizen’s Bank is a big plus! Now for the downers: constant movement of goods. Constant. This is frustrating. And items are broken down«by culture»(think ‘shoppe’ here). So you really need to know EXACTLY where to look. Also, the spa section is pretty big and very strongly scented. Smelling roasted chicken and patchouli bath salts while buying cat litter is the stuff headaches are made of. And the biggest downer of all: you will come to know the check-out clerks because getting the wrong one could cost you half an hour or more in line. They have a couple of super-clerks and the rest are awful. Monroeville’s Giant Eagle is NOT a specialty shoppe, but it IS a one-stop shop. And it’s pleasant to browse during Steeler games, which is the only time it’s not crowded.

I find this Giant Eagle annoying, maybe it’s because it’s at the end of the plaza. Or maybe because when you tell somebody that you are going to Giant Eagle in Monroeville you have to go into a fifteen minute conversation explaining to them where the Giant Eagle exactly is. It is nearly hell getting to and from here from the main road. With a Target right before it and the parking lot confusion, it is almost impossible to make a b-line to a spot. I guess except for at night. That is one good thing about this place it is open 24 hours. Making it a bit easier to pick up something you are in dire need of. I guess another good thing is that it is clean a majority of the time. But there is no way that this is a must stop when you are shopping in Monroeville. Save your time trying to find this place and go up the road further to the one that is right off 22.

I used to love this store. Great sales and tons of selection. The new prepared foods section I great too. It tends to be crowded but if you go t the right times it’s not too bad. I usually like seeing a crowded grocery store. It makes me feel like things are fresher because there’s too much traffic for produce to sit for too long. But recently I had a very bad experience there that dealt with a man following me to my car after my shopping and being very inappropriate. I’m happy to say that the store is handling the situation with a lot of care and consideration. But still, my recommendation to women is to be aware of themselves and bring a friend with them to the store. I’d hate for this situation to repeat itself to anyone else!

I do almost all my food shopping at this Giant Eagle. There is a big selection of different foods. Giant Eagle can get pricey if you don’t have a advantage card. I like being able to use the self checkout line. I also like how you can buy 6 packs of beer here. The Starbucks inside is also a plus.

MY local GE. Happy to have this store to grocery shop. This one is on the larger side, but by no means as large as the Market District brand stores. The selections a pretty good here with a wide range of products. This store is large enough to at least have a section for ethnic foods. Sections include Cheese shop, a large fruit and vegetable section(vegetables are usually of good quality) a bakery, a decent butcher — meat and seafood counters. You can ask the butcher to cut some meat special for you. While I don’t use these that often they have a good size deli and a hot/cold prepared foods section. Just added is a beer section, which is nice, but I still would like to see wine being sold here. The also have a cleaners and pharmacy inside the store. They keep the store and parking lot pretty clean. The only thing that really drives me crazy, is they tend to rearrange the section locations often enough that when I go in, I need to say, okay now where the heck is the bread or paper products, etc. Drives me nuts. All in all this GE is a pretty good place to shop where you can get most things in one stop shopping.

Granted this grocery store is right across the street from me, I still love this place. There are always a ton of sale on fruits and/or veggies. The place is easy to navigate around. The self check out machines are easy to use. The only two things that I couldnt find was a hot sauce called Valentina’s and also the cilantro(only 2 bundles were there) was already turning brown and old. The hippie tree hugging part of me cheered for the option for a more eco-friendly option for plastic bags. The blue ones are more recyclable, but the cashiers wont automatically use them, so make sure you ask for it before they start bagging! Saving our world a little bit at a time :)

I love this Giant Eagle because of its larger selection of ethnic type foods. However, I’m not a fan of how crowded it is. I feel like if I were to shop at 3am, I’d still have to push someone over for Nutella. Still, I’m willing to make sacrifices.
