Pink Transfer Moving & Storage

I finally unpacked my last box and wanted to thank Pink Transfer and Moving and their crew for a wonderful job. Not only were their packers polite, fast and professional, but their driver, Jerry, was very reliable. I felt secure in the knowledge that he would get a life long collection of goods to my new location safely.
I highly recommend Pink Moving and would use them again in a heartbeat!

I hired Pink movers (Sept 2013) based on a recommendation from a neighbor who had used them a few years before my move. (I have made many moves in my lifetime– my husband was transferred in his job across country multiple times). I was initially concerned when they said they would do the estimate based on my photos and descriptions of my items– that should have been a red flag– because they didn’t once ask me about high ticket items, which I have many in the form of furniture and large scale art pieces. I emailed a list of high ticket items and brought it to the attention of Doug Pink, whom I was in contact with. My home in Venice CA, was a narrow, architectural style typical of the new homes in Venice. The movers started carrying boxes down the stairs before first removing art from the stair well walls– my most valued piece was damaged from a corner of a box. (The mover carried the box on his back so he couldn’t see where it was touching). They moved at a frantic pace– movers in different rooms all doing different things– it was total mayhem. The move-​in was the next day in San Diego. There were new guys on the crew, so they weren’t aware of the high ticket item pieces either, and they also didn’t follow my instructions about moving a very, very heavy and expensive piece I had– it has built in steel bars that slide out from underneath– it cannot be placed on a cart. I saw them just as they had it on a cart and bounced it on the lift of the truck. It was damaged as well. All in all, I had damage to some of my pieces that could easily have been avoided if they used better communication and organizational skills– or if they cared about my belongings and not damaging them. Also, I am a single woman and I felt that they took advantage of this fact– it was just me and these 4 guys throughout the move. They didn’t listen when I asked them to be careful– they acted like I was a nuisance and in their way. (They moved at break-​neck speed and sweated and soaked through their shirts till they were literally dripping. I had to give them dry shirts from my sons clothes). I am in no way a nuisance– I just wanted them to know which pieces required attention. On the move-​in day– I found my business check book and some thumb drives scattered on the sidewalk. Why those were there I have no idea– either someone went through my plastic bins, or dropped them and the contents spilled out. The worst part of the experience though hasn’t been in working with the actual movers who did the job– it has been working with the insurance adjustor to try to resolve my damages (Randy Weddle.) Based on having to deal with this man– he harrassed me by phone, refused to offer me his email address for correspondence and basically in my experience has been a really horrible person to deal with– I had to hire an attorney just to communicate with their insurance company. It was impossible to communicate with Mr Weddle. I would avoid Pink Movers– especially if you are a single woman. When they could have made things right, it was only made worse by the intimidation tactics of their insurance company.

I think the only way you truly know the integrity of a company is when something goes wrong and they need to handle it so that you are happy. Many companies do not but I am happy to say that Pink is a company of integrity and a hella of a great moving company. Jeff Pink (yep the guy who is one of the owners) came and gave us a fair estimate for our move and took into consideration the street where we were moving (narrow and did not want to block traffic with large moving trucks) so 2 days were planned. First moving the outside and garage and doing all the packing of breakables and artwork and 2 moving all the contents from the interior. First day was «Jerry’s crew» and they were amazing. Not only a personable bunch of guys but clearly knew how to handle heavy and large items. Put everything exactly where I wanted it and got done an hour ahead of schedule. Great day! Second day we had a great crew as well (name escapes me) and it was a mother of a move! We have a bunch of antiques, artwork and a grand piano. It took more then planned but all was done with a smile and with care. We all shared dinner together and then completed the move by 7pm, happy and done and in our new home. Also like the review below, I would have loved to know that there was an extra credit card charge but paid with a check.
Here is where the true grit of Pink comes through. I noticed that a leg on one of our black lacquered chairs was broken and the lyre on the piano was not attached. Contacted Jeff and he immediately send someone over to attach and pick up the chair for repair. I waited to write my review. Well, the chair was delivered today and you would not be able to tell that it had been repaired. Do I recommend Pink? Yes. Can there be problems when you move? Yes. But these guys are honorable, do great work and more importantly, stand by their work. Thank you!

We have used Pink Transfer for years and been very happy but they outdid themselves yesterday. From the first contact for a walk through with Brandon to yesterday’s move, it all went like clockwork. Thank you to the entire crew; Jerry, Anthony, Johnny, Dennis, and Ralph. You were all so professional and did a fantastic job. What a wonderful, hard working, group of guys. Jerry oversaw everything with a calmness that put me at ease and there wasn’t any request that wasn’t taken care of immediately. Thank you to the entire crew for a great job and for the respect and care you showed. You went above and beyond, particularly with «the sofa». Oh my goodness, I don’t know how you did it! I made the mistake of using another established moving company with our previous move as a favor to a friend and will never make that mistake again. Thank you… you guys are fantastic!

Highlights:
(1) They don’t lean on you or offer discounts to write good Unilocal reviews like so many other companies.
(2) They were generally upfront and clear about the price and the terms of the move (e.g. the standard double rate for driving time). They showed us their calculations at the end and didn’t try to add or hide anything.
(3) However, they did not mention that there’s a substantial fee (I think it was 3−4%) for using a credit card until we tried to use one. No problem, we wrote a check, but I would have appreciated hearing that in advance.
(4) That said, they didn’t break anything and didn’t cause any scratches to the walls/​floors of the old place or the new one. Our stuff has a couple of new scratches, but as far as I’m concerned that’s par for the course.
(5) They were very careful about which items needed to be moved and where they should go, and everything ended up in the right place.
They’re not cheap, but they’re honest, and their care in avoiding damage saved us not just money from our deposit but the stress of additional interaction with our churlish former landlord. If you’ve got one of those too, Pink is a good choice.

I moved Friday and used Pink as my moving company. My move was complex as it involved 3 locations, included several very large and heavy pieces of furniture, and was just tricky to coordinate overall. Additionally, my ability to help was very limited as I’m getting over being very sick. So, admittedly, I was nervous about being able to pull off this move! Price quoted to me was very reasonable ($ 905) for 2 movers for an all day job. Movers arrived on time and could not have been more professional throughout the entire process. At the final location, the movers arrived with 2 additional men. The lead informed me that Pink was providing 2 additional men to help knock out the rest of the move with no additional charge to me… and boy did we all need the extra help by that point in the day!!! I honestly couldn’t have been happier with the efforts of all the men. All 4 were professional, had an exceptional work ethic, and clearly knew just how to move everything. I’ve used most of the local moving companies in the area over the years and have always been very angry at the end due to the lack of professionalism, damage to my property, faulty moving equipment (e.g., truck would start, dolly wheels broken), and general waste of time. Pink holds a high standard for their employees and all 4 of these men had an exceptional work ethic that really relieved all the pressure of the move off me! I couldn’t be any happier! Pink has definitely turned me into a raving fan!!!

I lived, had a business, and worked in Monrovia for years, and thought that PINK was a prominent and respected moving and storage company, but had never used their services. Past laurels should never be the sole reference.
I made moving arrangements for a move from Arcadia to Palm Springs with a month long storage in the interim. I itemized every piece of furniture and lighting to be stored and specifically highlighted the marble tops on my bedroom furniture which required a packing crate. The furniture pieces were few (6) and the movers arrived on time but without the proper crates to pack the marble tops. A second truck and extra mover was needed to bring the crates and pack the marble tops. The delay as a result was hours long, and I was billed nearly double the quoted price, for the time and labor due to a deficit in arranging for the proper packing materials to begin with.
A small credit was allotted to my account after I lodged a complaint but only reluctantly so, and a very nominal amount indeed. The move cost me an unexpected high amount of money.
The move to Palm Springs was no less a disaster. I left my son’s cell phone number as back up contact only, but Doug Pink preferred to call my son and not me with the news that the truck would be arriving late as the battery had been stolen the night before.
PINK movers arrived with a large crew but only 3 members did the actual work slowing things considerably. The movers complained that they were late for the next customer in Palm Desert and rushed through my move.
I was appalled to see that my mattress was taken from the truck uncovered and unprotected, and when I asked why, I was told that you have to request the mattress to be covered. The bed frame was put together hastily and I found 2 extra frame pieces wrapped after the movers left and have no idea where they belong.
The heavy dresser mirror was also not unpacked, because I did not request it, and it was left in front of the door where I had to move it inside myself. It is still sitting on the floor because it is too heavy to lift. Doug Pink did say that he hoped my son and I would be able to move it ourselves, offered no compensation for the inconvenience, beyond an insincere apology: «Oh, Sorry.»
I would not recommend this moving service and would not use them again.

My husband and I had a last minute move to Seattle and called Pink on recommendation from another moving company that couldn’t help us. Jeff Pink called me right back and came out that day. He asked me what I needed and made it happen. The best part was his flexibility in making our tight time frame work and was able to give me exact dates when our things would arrive. Other larger moving companies give you sometimes week long windows of time. I don’t know how that works when you’re trying to move. The Pink crew were friendly, really punctual, and just a pleasure to work with. Our belongings arrived safely and without any delays. A great company to work with!

Because of my husband’s job, we have been moving a lot and always had good experiences with our previous moving companies but this one has been awful and extremely stressful.
Jeff Pink (the owner) came at our home for an estimate and seemed very professional. We have a big and very fragile painting and specifically asked him to NOT wrap it with any cardboard or paper. He assured us that he would never do that because his company «always» use moving pads for paintings. He also said that he was the only company that would accommodate our needs and expectations for this moving and delivery dates, and that he would be our moving coordinator from the first to the last day and would always be available for any questions or concerns that we would have, which was good because we had to rent a place in DC to wait for our delivery and needed clear answers to all our questions. We decided to trust him after we read good reviews online.
Our experience has been terrible. First of all, after the contract was signed, Jeff Pink sent us an email to ask for 50% of the total amount at loading which was absolutely not what we agreed before. Usually, reliable movers do not ask you any $ before delivery. That was the first red flag. Then, we never got any news from him and had to email/​text/​call without getting any answer from him. We did not know how long we needed to rent a place in DC which was very stressful for our family. Once arrived in DC, we still never heard from him. After harassing him by text, he finally replied that he didn’t have any control on his contractor (because they are local, they don’t deliver but deal with another moving company) and that he would try to get some information to know where the truck was. This was 2 days only before the delivery day. Finally, our moving was delivered one day late which we learned the night before, so we had to sleep on old mattresses on the floor because our rental was not available anymore and the hotel night was too expensive for us. I forgot to mention that I am pregnant and that we have two young children. It was a nightmare! And of course, no phone call or apologies at all.
End of the story: the truck arrived and our moving was delivered but one of our bookcase had been broken, and our painting seriously damaged because it had been wrapped with paper, so the varnish got stick against the paper. Worst of all? We filed a claim but just got $ 100 for all — the last joke from Pink Transfers -. Jeff Pink NEVER called us, apologized or fixed the problem. This company might be ok for local moves but they are totally unable and unprepared for national and cross-​country moves. I truly was dismayed by Jeff Pink and how unprofessional and unfriendly he has been till the end. Of course, I would never recommend this company to anyone and would just run away from them, even for local moves.

Wife and I just made the move from Pasadena, CA to Utah. Got estimates from various moving companies. Yes, Pink was the most expensive, but their incredible reviews are all 100% justified. The team showed up on time, quickly and safely loaded all of are boxes, wrapped up our larger items and had our whole house emptied in about 3 hours. They then arrived in Utah right when they said they would, and unloaded the truck in no time flat. Not one box was lost and the only broken item was a lampshade that we packed poorly. The guys were fantastic to deal with and very kind.
Was a wonderful experience. Call Pink and you should have no worries.

We were moving from California to Nevada and needed a moving company we could trust. We contacted three movers. Bekins never showed or returned messages; Pink’s arrived on time, gave us a complete estimate and it was pretty much what we expected and their reviews are impeccable. The third mover we canceled as after reading their reviews on Unilocal.So Pink’s was the obvious choice. also, this move was from a two story home to a three story Townhome.
They arrived on time and I can’t say enough how impressed we were with their professionalism and thoroughness! Jimmy and Johnny took care of use like it was their own. They had us loaded and finished packing for us within five hours. They showed up exactly on time and again had us unloaded in less than five hours. The estimate was almost exactly the final total and not one thing was damaged or broken! I highly recommend them as well as Jimmy and Johnny!

We just moved our business today and had a wonderful experience with the Pink movers again! They arrived on time and had great personalities and work ethics! They went above and beyond what we had expected and would hire them again in a heartbeat. Ernie, Alex, and Chris did an amazing job, were so nice, calm and collective, and we look forward to seeing them again in the future.

These guys are the best. They arrived on time and were so careful with our things. I can’t imagine a better experience.

Pink Transfer just moved my little office, and did a fabulous job. Andrew and Dennis arrived on time, and instantly started moving like lightening. They padded all my furniture with care, and moved everything into my new office, taking the time to make sure it was placed exactly where I wanted it. They accomplished the move in LESS time than was estimated, and nothing was damaged. Matt Pink, my contact, was very responsive to all my questions and concerns.

Recently my wife and I purchased our first house and though we were looking forward to our new home, the move was not something we were looking forward to, after several bad and questionable movers before, hiring a moving company was something we were dreading.
On the recommendation of an acquaintance I called up Pink Transfer Moving and Storage. The agent I worked with was police, courteous and upfront about everything. He stopped by our condo unit to get an idea on how much stuff we have and gave us an estimate that same day. We agreed and a few weeks later two PINK moving trucks were at our condo on time. The staff was friendly and easy to communicate with and everyone was clear on what needed to be done.
They packed, wrapped and prepared everything quickly and efficiently and delivered to our new home with not a single scratch on a single piece of furniture or on our home.
I can’t recommend Pink Transfer Moving and Storage enough.

Horrible! Rude! Avoid these jerks
So they blocked our driveway this morning, were rude and insulting and refused to move. I don’t know who the nice people in the other reviews are but I would avoid this rude, unapologetically belligerent people at all costs. Surely there are other movers out there who can transport your stuff safely and cheaply without being such jerks and alienating your neighbors.

Pink Transport Rocks! What a nice bunch of guys and Leslie too at the front desk! I’ve spoken with the owners, brothers Jeff and Doug… and I think there’s another one but through all the confusion of the move my memory isn’t so hot!
I used Steve and his crew to move and settle my stuff into storage and they were fast, efficient and got everything I own into 75 sq ft. Ask for them.
It was great because they recommended the StorBox (get it?) Storage too who I also like for whom I wrote a separate review.
Moving is stressful at best and this was a totally different experience than when I used Starving Students. Use PINK, they’re trustworthy and really nice and genuine people.
