Saul Gonzalez Landscaping and Garden

I received a text from Saul last night which was 3 months after I left the last review. This is what he said.
«Hi Zarina thank you for your review on Unilocal for my bussines, i have all the messages and you never Confirm the appointment the do the job next day, i hope one day your parent grass don’t turn brown suddenly.»
Please, I confirmed and he said I was too late. He will only respond via text don’t bother calling him.
Sorry but customers are always right. Texts can be deleted. And for him to respond rudely via Unilocal and text to these reviewers who gave him a poor review due to his service shows what kind of businessman he is.
I had another gardener come the following day and for one person to do the yard he did an amazing and clean job. Not only did he take his time but he cleaned up very well. Therefore deserved an extra $ 30 for his job well done.
But thanx saul for not giving me any service because then I wouldn’t of found the other gardner who is willing to communicate with me on the phone not by texting and who calls me to confirm not me having to call them to confirm. And please don’t be texting me again. Like I told you… I will report you.

One word can describe Saul, his workers and service: TERRIBLE. From start to finish when I fired them. I had made it a point to meet with Saul several times to go over my entire property to make sure there weren’t any doubts or questions of exactly what j wanted done, accomplished and not touched at all. His quote to do certain things was quite reasonable compared to all my other quotes which should have been the fist big red flag. The next big red flag is that he barely gets back to you and when he does it is only by text. He doesn’t pick of the phone to make a call. So after our several meetings he sends out two men that I have never met before onto my property without him and they just start hacking away at anything and everything on my property!!! Clearly Saul never had a conversation with them on what to do. Not to mention I thought Saul was supposed to be there at my property with them. They completely butchered several plants and bushed of mine that will take YEARS!!! To grow back!!! And his response to me that it is a learning curve??? WTF?! No that is not how this works. That is why we met prior to commencing so this would not happen. Then to the kicker… he comes and says he is going to replace certain sprinklers, and reroute some of them and provided me with a separate quote for this work. Well this was a complete waste of money. The garbage work that he did, I ended up digging it back up myself and had to pay someone else to come out and fix what he did. He connected some weirdo hosing to my existing sprinkler lines instead of doing in properly with PVC. Then took out and stole my existing LP Toro sprinkler heads which are pretty expensive compared to the crappy rainbird ones he installed which, by the way, were 3 – 4 inches taller than my existing ones! Didn’t measure nothing! Didn’t care how anything looked. Overall, he and his men trashed my yard. Had no regard for my current plants not my sprinkler system. I am attaching some photos. Oh and he leaves his garbage all over your property without throwing it away. But I would NOT recommend this guy to anyone! Stay aware from this company if you like your property.

Better think twice before dealing with this individual. He did a job for me and it was very sloppy. Really didn’t notice it until he left. He did come back and said he would correct different issues. Waited for him and he did a «NO SHOW». I left 3 emails and 3 phone messages but to no avail. It almost impossible to get a hold of him because he doesn’t return his calls or emails. Gave up and am having to hire someone else to fix his mess. I don’t know how he got 5 stars on some of these reviews. He also did work on another house on my block and had problems there, too. If you want to take a chance on him DO NOT pay him until you are completely satisfied. And, be very, very clear on what you want — mistakes there too. Better to get everything in writing.
Take note of the other one-​star reviews, all this year and within the last 3 months. These are current and there is obviously a pattern. Think at this point he only wants the BIG jobs. He should remember the smaller jobs are the ones who got him started in the first place. But there is still a matter of common courtesy and respect. For Celia and Zarina, you were better off that he didn’t keep his appointments or return your numerous communications. Believe me.

I found Saul on Unilocal and gave him a try. We needed the sod cut out of our front lawn and he did a great job at a good price! I would highly recommend Saul and will be using him for future projects. He kept us well informed thru out the process.

I highly reccommend Saul based on my experience. We have a major leak in our garden. Saul was very courteous to drop by on such short notice despite a busy schedule. Knowledgeable about the possibilities, he quickly identified the problem in detail.
It turned out to be old piping that needed major repair… A plumber’s job. Not a gardener’s. Even so, he charged me no money for the diagnostic favor! Knowing the issue gave us peace of mind. He even recommended plumber companies who will do quality job at discount. Thank you Saul.

I went to Unilocal looking for a gardner last year. I discovered a husband and wife team with overall good reviews and went with them. What a bad move.
In the process of them being here they caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to my artificial putting green and lacked simple gardening 101 skills. In the process I also watched part of the slope of my house dry up and die because they did not know you could hand toggle on sprinklers to see if they are working (which they weren’t).
Never-​mind that. Exasperated I returned to Unilocal and discovered Saul. Having been so burned (literally!) I asked Saul to walk around my house and describe what he would do and what issues he saw.
Saul knows his stuff. He pointed out many things he would have done differently and things lacking. Many of them I had felt the same about for months.
Saul has been my gardener for a few months now and I am quite happy. My yard looks great and my fig walls look quite tidy and healthy.
It is a monumental change from my previous gardeners and heck. He is even cheaper!
I had my sprinkler system upgraded and changed out everything but the lawn sprinkler heads. He showed up and showed me some great low flow options which he then installed for me.
Such a change. I feel a lot more comfortable about the appearance of my front and backyard thanks to Saul.

It’s been four months now with Saul Gonzalez Landscaping. I could not be more pleased with his work. His work is timely, he’s responsive to requests/​suggestions, very very knowledgeable.

Saul came to our residential property and we had good discussions about his recommendations on upgrading our irrigation system. He seemed engaged and eager to work with us. I only had an hour with him before needing to work with our handyman, so he had to leave before we could talk about pricing. I followed up with him on his cell for an estimate, and he said he would deliver in a couple of days. He did not. I followed up three more times via both email and cell phone, but have not heard back from him at all. It’s been a month since his initial visit. Fairly disappointed to say the least and very unexpected. We weren’t in a rush and there would have been plenty of work for him. Needless to say, we have no choice but to look for someone else. Odd. Not sure what happened there…

I hired Saul and his team to do a major remodel for my yards including new sod, new sprinkler systems, removal of 2 large trees with roots and grading. He also referred me to a hardscape guy to pour new walkways and patios. He and his team were incredible! They did everything with care and made sure the job was done right. I would definitely recommend his services and will use him again on our next project!

Saul was supposed to drop by and provide me with an estimate for my yard. Unfortunately, he never showed up on the day we planned to meet or answered any of my texts or phones calls. Extremely disappointed…

Saul is an excellent gardener. He really listened to what I needed and worked hard to do the work efficiently and did an awesome job. He has always been on time and dependable and at a very reasonable cost. I am so glad to have Saul — my garden has never looked better!

I’ve never ever met such a kind, diligent, honest, and hardworking gardener. He was willing to work within our budget. He kept us up-​to-​date with every lil detail. I really APPRECIATE his work ethics bc my husband and I have gone through so many bad experiences with construction workers and different landscapers. So glad to have met Saul and his crew. Will def call him again for future projects!
He helped us redo the sprinkler line in the front yard bc we expanded our driveway with cement. he also helped us purchase hydrangeas and planted in our front yard along with new grass and soil. He did a phenomenal job and he cleaned up well too! You won’t regret going with him!!!

Saul did a fantastic job!!! It’s a new front yard!!! And what’s even better is that his bid was reasonable, the job was completed on time, he and his crew were always punctual, Saul is easy to get ahold of, he is very personable and knows his stuff!!! You can’t go wrong with this guy!!!

Saul is the best gardener/​landscaper I have every had the pleasure of working with. He is not only knowledgable and great at what he does, but he has such a positive and enthusiastic attitude. You can tell that he simply loves his job. He helped me choose and plant some beautiful hibiscus in my backyard, and treats my garden as if it were his own – with lots of TLC. He is also very reasonably priced, reliable and easy to work with.
I highly recommend Saul for any of your gardening needs!
