Setting use apart from others is easy. You will appreciate our flexible early check-​in and late check-​out policies and the seclusion the location offers. Children and well behaved pets are welcome and there is no additional charge for children 12 years and under.

Rock-​n-​Creek Cabin offers Concierges, Personal Chef Services and Custom Packages. Have one meal or all meals prepared by a Certified Executive Chef of 35 years in the privacy of your cabin.

Enjoy seeing hand carved waterfowl decoys, hand hewn bowls and Appalachian white oak baskets being made on location at the Artisan Studio of Buck Island Bay Decoys and Mountain Man Basketry.

History

Established in 2010.

The cabin was built in 1998 as a hunting camp and used as thus for many years. Nestled in the shadow of the George Washington National Forest and located on one of the highest peaks at 3,260 above sea level. It was sold in 2005 to your host retired Executive Chef Richard Christy and remodeled to meet modern day amenities. Three covered porches and a 16×26 open deck were added. New cabin doors and cosmetic changes were made to it’s interior while preserving the country charm and ambiance that makes this getaway unique.

Chef Christy wanted others to see the beauty of this mountain and witness the solitude and serenity captured here.

This is when Rock-​n-​Creek Cabin was offered to guest as their mountain detination. Wedged between a huge granite outcrop and the head waters of the Tye River a name was born. Concierges, Personal Chef, and unique packages were creted to stimulate guest interest.
