Hot Pot Hot Pot

After a few failed attempts, I finally made it here with some friends. All in all, we had a good experience.
We got a half-​and-​half hot pot: half spicy and half some ‘rejuvenation’ broth. Now, I had nothing against the rejuvenation broth, I just didn’t get it: what was being rejuvenated here? The spicy broth, however, was on point and had some kick (unlike some other places I’ve been).
You get plenty of veggies (regardless of what you order) and the meat offerings are plentiful. I particularly enjoyed this green onion pancake thing — bomb!
This is a good spot to come and have that communal feeling with friends and family. It’s worth a taste!

Cheap and delicious, this is a meal that’s as good as a korean BBQ feast. The service is decent and the food is great. Décor is typical Chinese restaurant fare. The meats with the sauces and the veggies and broth are all tasty!

This is my favorite hot pot restaurant. I love the taste of the broth and could probably be content w just slurping the soup alone. the meat comes well-​marbled and all the veggie are fresh. The dipping sauce on the table are yummy.

Not AYCE which helps you control how much you eat! Hot pot hot pot offers a variety of meats, vegetables & random stuff. You can also order dishes.
As the soup base always get the half and half if you are into spicy stuff but you are accompanied with others.
My favorite: taro, beef, glass noodles, and shrimp and fish ball .
CAUTION: during the weekends and Friday nights this place gets so packed!

We ordered a half-​half broth with the original house broth and a medium spicy one. With it we ordered vermicelli noodles, beef, baby bakchoy, quail eggs, tendon and scallops which we divided into both pots.
The house broth was yummy and the spicy one could have been except for the fact that the chili oil seem to be separating the flavor with the actual broth so it tasted like an unmixed broth. We thought of mixing some of the original broth into the medium spicy one and it greatly improved the flavor and texture.
So all in all the food was great and we were satisfied. That is until I was driving home and my stomach started hurting like crazy (no need to go into details here). The same happened to my cousins. Since this is the only place we ate together and by deduction, I must say it was because of the food we had at this place so I am not sure if I will be back despite the delicious hot pot.

Came here on a Wednesday night. This place was pretty packed for a weekday. Lucky it was just the two of us, so we got seated fairly quickly.
We ordered some seafood, meat, vegetables, and sake. The quality of meat and vegetables was average. The bill came out to be $ 44 each. There are many better hotpot restaurants around the neighborhood to choose from.

This place gives me life! The house broth is everything! The person who said the broth isn’t drinkable is CRAZY! I am sitting at my desk drinking it right now!!! I like to get half and half House/​Spicy. I drink the house broth and accent it with a splash of the spicy. If you don’t want to dine in, they will sell you a qt of broth to go for like $ 7. It took me forever to summon the courage to go to Hot Pot Hot Pot alone. I had a weird anxiety because I never saw a solo diner there and I feared they would turn me away. Well, they didn’t AND it’s the best way to go… It may turn out to be a little pricey if you choose lots of ingredients, BUT you will have so many leftovers. I went home with 4 qts of leftover broth and froze them. There’s also a vegetarian broth option (pass) and Rejuvenation which I am curious about but I expect it to taste like a Chinese Herb shop, so nah.
Order whatever you want! They have it all! An entire page of mushrooms, of greens, of meats, of beige things like gluten puffs, baby corn etc. You can also order various non-​Hot Pot cooked dishes like noodles, fried rice, spicy wontons, chicken feet etc.
My faves hot pot add ins are: sliced lamb, watercress, daikon and any of the BALLS!!! Also, green onion pancake is a must for dippin’… AND YOU CAN HAVE A PITCHER OF BEER!!! It’s the best meal ever!!!
Everyone I’ve ever brought here, will look up from their bowl at some point and exclaim, «SO NOURISHING!» It really is…
Side tip: Bring a sweater. AC is always cranked!!!

If you don’t mind coming home smell like you have worked at Chinese herb store whole day, then this place is for you.
Personally I prefer soup base that’s drinkable, but their’s are not. By the end of cooking, it tasted bitter and weird.
Among all the soup bases, spicy one is the best. I have not yet tried their vegetarian version.
Best green onion pancakes in town. Do not order it as it will completely ruin your diet plan.

Basically a better version of Little Sheep (besides the AYCE). Orders are the same quality, but the broths taste so much healthier. I always get MSG overload after Little Sheep, but I was fine after eating at this restaurant!
You first pick the broth that you want, we did half plain (house) and half spicy. Then we went CRAZY with our orders LOL. My favorites were the Pork Belly, Pig Blood, and Shiitake Mushrooms. Their slices of meat are a good thickness so it cooks fast but it’s also a mouthful, even though they’re frozen. All the orders we got were pretty fresh, besides the clams, they were open before we put them in the soup, which indicates that they have been dead for a while.
Service is ok, they bring out the orders really fast. Price is decent, for two people we ate about ~$ 45 including drinks.

Food (5 Stars) — Men, their soup base and quality of meat are excellent! If you were kinda new to Chinese hot pot like I were, try the yin yang (half spicy, half original) base soup to dip in your ingredients. There are about 50 things you can put into the hot pot. Definitely do go for scallion pancake. And beware that the veges and other orders come in a basket full, good for about 4 – 7 people, depending on their vegeterianness.
Ambiance (5 Stars) — very open area with about 25 tables PACKED with family members. It is very warm and family-​friendly. I love the vibe where you and your acquaintance sit in a circle and have fun and awesome food, just like the feeling when you do marshmellow at camping, but, with meat. Not a spot if you are looking for something private, intimate, and romantic.
Service (4 Stars) — Many of the Chinese restaurants are not particularly well known for services. From my personal experience, Chinese servers were usually apathetic but did their job. No one who worked smiling or nicely, but they were quite helpful, timely with their actual service.
My newest addition of I-​WILL-​CRAVE-​THIS-​ONCE-​IN-​A-​WHILE place. Recommended! :D

The food is amazing and I thought that the choice of menu items they list is perfect., I have to admit that the service isn’t the best by the front people, but the English speaking servers are amazing. They will tend quick and right on. The honeydew smoothie here is one of the best things to order and is just refreshing.
Try the beef and spinach. The soup is delicious and if you really like spicy, then you should get spicy.

Very authentic and interactive. So fun in groups and to discover a cool style of food that is so wildly popular in Asia. I travel to China twice a year and I can easily say that my most fun experiences dining are when we do hot pot. You have the option of choosing two kinds of broth and for the spicy broth, you can choose 1 – 5 in levels of spicyness. I would say to a western pallet, level 3 is known as traditional «very hot» in restaurants and anything over than would be very very spicy. I think anything below is not spicy enough but higher would be too risky. The broth doesn’t have much flavor to be honest if it’s not super spicy, which is why I give this place 4 stars.
You order ingredients a la carte. So vegetables and noodles and your protein, whether you want beef or seafood, it is all there. They have prepared food as well. This is a healthy option for any spicy food lover.

WARNING: NOT AYCE!
For those of you who love eating your money back, AYCE is the way to go. I came here tonight thinking that this place was AYCE but sadly… it wasnt… the bill came out to be $ 68 for 3 people. Veggies were around $ 3 a plate and meats/​seafood $ 6 a plate.
Broth was very fresh and savory. Had a bowl of the soup after and I didn’t feel like I needed to drink down a gallon of water to wash down all the msg. My mom had fun fishing out the herbs.
We ordered 2 plates of beef, 1 lamb, 1 beef tendon balls, 1 fish with roe, 1 fish ball, 1 napa, 1 oyster, green onion pancake, spicy won ton and the bill came out to be $ 68.
Service was non existent. I guess because it’s hot pot, they don’t really need to serve us. but no hello or anything. RBF everywhere.
Overall pretty good quality. No music. The overhead fans were off so I came home smelling like a bag of herbs. Yum?
Not sure if I’ll be back… I love my AYCE too much. Hehe

This is my second visit. I couldn’t quite remember my first experience here, which explains why I still feel the same second time around. If you like your soup to have a lot of herb particles then this is the spot to visit. I’m not into the chunks of herbs and pepper floating while I’m trying to eat or drink the soup.
There was three of us and they had a full house but we were seated after 10 – 15 mins. The waitress did not acknowledge or greet us at all. We simply ordered our items and she came to pick it up and left. Didn’t bother to go over our items. We received everything with the exception of the «pancakes». She replaced that with spicy wonton. Not relatively close to what we ordered, but we didn’t complain and ate it anyways since we like wontons. We were there for about an hour and half and we never saw our waitress again. Terrible customer service.
The soup was not flavorful. We selected the spicy level 3 and that was very spicy. We also selected the non spicy base and that was mediocre. The quality and quantity of the sides were on par and perfect amount.
Overall, i would probably not go back.

Sunday Night, this place had a long time. Mostly large parties, so when I came with a party of 2 we were seated right away.
There service here is average. After being seated you get complimentary tea, and if you would like water you need to ask for it. The Hot Pot you can get 1 large pot or request a spilt and get 2 soup bases. I tried the original broth and the Medium Spicy Broth.
To order your Meats, Veggies, and etc. you have to fill out a little sheet. It was a bit pricey. Each dishes vary from $ 3 and up.
My friend and I ordered about 7 dishes Sliced Pork, Imitation Crab Meat, Beef Ball, Water Crest, Cabbage, Udon, and Bamboo Spouts. Our bill came out $ 40. The serving size per dish is a quite small. After finishing everything we were still not satisfied, but we were not open to spending more. The quality of the meat and veggies are average. There was nothing special.
I feel much more satisfied going to Jazz Cat or Boiling Point for Hot Pot. When I go else where I never need to spend more than $ 20 and I will always leave with left overs. When I came here my friend and I left hungry, we felt ripped off.

So originally I was thinking to myself, «So why are we in this plaza? Are we going to eat at the Tokyo Fried Chicken?»

«What’s so special about this restaurant? Doesn’t look special to me. Wait … so this IS the Hot Pot Hot Pot? I totally thought this is a family-​style Cantonese restaurant.»
Started in 2006, Hot Pot Hot Pot is a Mongolian Hot Pot restaurant located in the same plaza as the Tokyo Fried Chicken. There are four different broths to choose from and supposedly their broths do not contain MSG and trans-​fat. Our group came here before 6 PM and there wasn’t much of a wait.
Base price (broth fee): $ 3.50 per person and you can choose up to two different broths per table (half & half broth). Once you choose your broth (s), then you can pick different items such as meats, seafood, vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, and other side dishes to customize your hot pot experience. Dipping sauces include sesame (bland), satay (good), fermented tofu sauce (a bit salty), and chili.

House Original Broth & Rejuvenation Broth (half & half): I personally preferred the House Original over the Rejuvenation because the House Original tasted more flavorful. WARNING — I wouldn’t recommend anyone drinking more than 5+ bowls of broth at the end of the meal because I did it and my body couldn’t process all the greases (resulted from dumping fatty lamb and beef into the pot) for about two hours.
What our table ordered — sliced lamb (B1, $ 5.50), sliced beef (B2, $ 5.75), sliced pork belly (B5, $ 4.25), beef book-​tripe (B7, $ 4.25), beef tendon (B11, $ 4.25), fishball with roe (C20, $ 4.95), baby bok choy (D7, $ 2.75), shiitake mushroom (E2, $ 3.50), enoki mushrooms (E3, $ 3.00), and fried tofu (F2, $ 2.75): Everything tasted pretty fresh and there wasn’t a particular dish that was disappointing.

Each one of us ended up paying approximately $ 33 per person (including tax and tip). Not a bad deal for the amount of food and quality we were getting. Personally this isn’t my number one favorite hot pot restaurant, but it is a good place to have a dinner with a large group and the overall food quality is still pretty decent.

Hot Pot Hot Pot is more of a traditional hot pot place where you order whatever sides you want, which every item with a price. It does get a little pricey if you order a lot of sides so make sure you keep up with your tab!
I really like the rejuvenation broth and the spicy broth. The broths are really herby so you really know that the soup is gonna taste good. The sides are decent amount and to me, it looks fresh. I really enjoy the food here. Whatever sides you like is your best option.
Service is not too bad. They are pretty nice and the food usually come out quick so thats a plus.
Compared to Jazz Cat or Boiling Point, I think this meets up to its standards to be as good as those restaurants. This place is more family oriented and you are able to have a nice family meal here. I would recommend coming here if you really enjoy hot pot!

This is my first time hot pottin ever. I love it! Lots of veggies, not too much meat, the broth is sooo good. So much flavor!
Lot is kinda small and shares space with several other stores. For some reason there’s always a space available tho. People are always coming in and out.
No wait on a Sunday at 8pm. The menu is super easy to read. They give you a slip of paper to check off the items you want… kinda like sushi or yakitori. BUT! the twist is there’s a menu with pictures that correlates to the paper! Don’t know what the diff between winter bamboo and regular bamboo? Just look at the picture menu! You don’t even need help from the wait staff hardly.
Food comes out on a metal tray. Once you finish or have dirty plates just place them back on the tray. I really like the efficiency.
Items were from 2.75 to $ 10. You’ll probably pay about $ 20 per person, not bad for all that food. There’s plenty of greens and they’re super clean and super fresh. I also ordered the onion pancake 5.50. It was thin and crispy, perfect for dipping into the soup. Skip the drinks. They taste artificial. Also skip the regular beef plate 5.75. The beef tasted off. It was probably the only hot pot item that was not good.
We ordered the half house broth, half spice broth. We got mild spicy (saw the guy mark it as 2) and it was the perfect amount of spice. I don’t eat a lot of spicy food so it was good for me.
Open til 1am, takes cards, fast service, fresh food.

Absolutely love this place. You know when the weather is cloudy and cold, you just get that craving «hmm hot pot sounds good right now.» That’s what exactly what happened to me.
Got the half and half broth between the house broth and spicy (level 3 spiciness). Ordered the Angus sliced beef and the regular beef slices. You can taste the difference. The Angus has better texture too. The fish cakes were delectable with its squishy goodness. The lotus roots and daikon were a nice break from meat. Love that spicy broth tho… It’s really spicy but it’s got those Szechwan spices to make you eat more pain while getting more pleasure. I’d get into s&m if it had spicy broth like this! Worth the fiery poop that comes the next day!

Nunca había estado en un restaurante mongol y probablemente es lo más extraño que he visto hasta el momento.
La mesa tiene incorporada una vitro para calentar una olla con caldos a elección. Después pides la comida (carnes, pescados, verduras…) que te traen cruda y la gracia está en ir echándola en el caldo hirviendo y esperar ha que este a tu gusto para comer.
La parte comestible es materia prima de buena calidad pero lo que destaca son los caldos, en los que puedes ver flotar especias, frutos, vegetales y un montón de semillas que no había visto en mi vida y que consiguen darle al agua un sabor espectacular.
Si estais de vacaciones o viviendo en Los Angeles, probarlo. No os dejará indiferente.
