Absolutely incredible experience! Cavity in molar turned into a need for root canal — my first — ugh. Referred to Dr. Pierre by my regular dentist — read the Unilocal reviews and was better assured. When I entered his office I was immediately struck by warm décor and a welcoming vibe — rendered as well by Brittany and Melissa. They are the dental assistant and receptionist respectively — so pleasant and cheerful. Sounds nuts to tell you that an aroma vaporizer and back-​massaging dental chair and Sirius music added to the comfortable ambience of the treatment room. Constant inquiries into how I was feeling and extreme competence by Dr. Pierre and Brittany had me relaxed and almost dosing off with only a local, painless, anesthetic injection. Procedure lasted about an hour, made so much more comfortable in that chair — with neck pillow too. No pain at all, even after the juice wore off. Dr. Pierre called personally later that Eve to see how I was feeling. All I could do was heap compliments on him and his staff. I hope you’ll trust from this review that you can be totally confident in your procedure being in this doctor’s hands.

Extremely helpful staff, accessible appointments, and no pain! My first root canal ever and I had a pain free experience here. Dr. Pierre did a wonderful job and made sure to call and check up on me after the procedure. If I ever need a root canal again I’m going to this office!

Dr Pierre is extremely calming and staff always greets with a smile. I was recommended by Dr Ikemiya DDS for a root canal.
To say the least, this is not my cup of tea… in fact I don’t even like tea.
Gotta do what you gotta do though so I muscled up all the courage just to get to the appointment. Sweaty palms and anxious, arriving a little late, Dr Pierre reassured me everything would be fine. and it was, indeed.
Never felt more relaxed and all my past experiences and fears quickly dissipated. Very refreshing dental care.
The ONLY reason I did not give Five Stars is because Dr. Pierre doesn’t serve nitrous oxide before his procedures like my other Dentist (because I am a total whimp. don’t tell anyone), but it was still a GREAT experience.

I like to check with Unilocal whenever I’m «sailing in uncharted waters». Such was the case last week when my dentist told me that I need a root canal and the throbbing dull ache in my mouth told me that sooner was better than later. I fired up my trusty Unilocal App. to see who people liked in the Monterey area for Endodontic treatment. I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to drilling, cutting, injecting etc. inside of my mouth, so I wanted a doc with a good reputation and reputable training. I found both of these things in Dr. Daniel Pierre. ALL of his employees are super nice, friendly, professional and competent. Dr. Pierre is very gentle, calming and reassuring and he does his very best to provide painless and top-​notch root canal therapy. Dr. Pierre delivered «the goods» and I’m very happy that I found him and I have no reservations whatsoever in giving him my highest recommendation. Don’t put it off, if you’re in pain, make the call and you’ll be glad that you did!

On vacation, My son had an accident in Big sur in which he chipped his front tooth, leaving him with an exposed nerve. Because there was no available endodontist back home for appointment today (we cut short our vacation thinking we had to get back home ASAP) we decided to just try a local endodontist in Monterey. Fortunately, Dr Pierre had a cancellation and we were able to be seen immediately. Dr. Pierre and staff were professional and courteous. He explained everything to me and most importantly, my son had no more pain following the root canal. We were grateful for the care received there and would go to him again if we had to.

Do not be afraid, this is a great place. Having read Ka S review I called Debbie at the Dental Society, Monterey Bay. Dr Pierre, as it turns out, was president last year. I saw him as a dental emergency. He was honest, kind, clear in his information and gave me my options. His staff worked with my insurance so I saved $ 60 in out of pocket costs. Everyone was courteous and clear. I have had some bad providers this year, he is not one of them. He is good, compassionate, and smart. Go here, it’s a good place.

Just recently I overheard someone at Peet’s coffee talking about their miserable root canal experience… I was tempted to tell them about Central Coast Endo and Dr. Pierre but it sounded like it was too late for them anyway. But if a root canal is in your cards, this is the place to go. First of all, if you need a root canal you have suffered enough… they sound scary but the fact is this is going to make you stop hurting! This is the light at the end of the tunnel. Dr. Pierre is wonderful (I unfortunately do have a basis for comparison). His staff is first rate, and the office is so comfortable it will make you feel better right away. They are efficient with insurance issues and they have great new magazines to distract you. Not the 2 year old «Highlights» or «Field and Stream» you see elsewhere. So, when the time comes go to this office for your root canal. I don’t even care if the dentist is out of your network, go here anyway. You’ll be glad you did.

I had a broken tooth for 2 years. I finally got sick and tired of avoiding the dentist (and my insurance kicked in) so I went to my general and he referred me to Dr. Pierre. Boy, were my palms sweaty waiting in the waiting room. After 1.5 hours, I was all done and on my way! I NEVER FELT A SINGLE THING!!! Britni was singing along with the XM radio that was plating and Dr. Pierre was working his magic. I have heard so many horror stories about root canals (as I’m sure you have) but know this, this team has it together and is extremely gentle and thorough. I never even needed an advil. If you are on the fence, don’t put it off. Go see this team, you’ll be glad you did!!!

This is absolutely hands down the one and only place to get a root canal in Monterey County. Don’t even consider going anywhere else!!! This is it. This is the place. Stop worrying, the staff has you covered. You’re just lucky you found them! =) Don’t hesitate. Just go and get it over with. You’ll feel silly you put it off this long.

Dr. Daniel Pierre is by far the best endodontist I’ve ever been to. Dr. Pierre is extremely knowledgeable, took the time to explain and answer all my questions, was patient with me and very personable. I was in a lot of pain and Maddy at the front desk helped me get in early with a cancellation. The office is spotless, provided bottled water, tea, magazines and a spotless restroom. The staff communicates well with each other, called ahead to confirm my appt. and were always extremely professional, kind and helpful. I can’t say enough about Central Coast Endodontics and Dr. Pierre and his staff. Best ever!!!

Dr. Daniel J. Pierre and his staff are as good as it gets! I highly recommend them to anyone needing an endodontist. I was referred by the dentist from the Naval Postgraduate School for a possible root canal. I really didn’t want to have one done because of a previous bad experience with another endodontist in San Diego. Dr. Pierre was patient and truthful and said I could go without the procedure for a while, but if I continued to have trouble it would be time– It might be a few weeks or a few years, but eventually I would have to have it done. After 2 weeks I decided to get it over with. Maddy at the front desk remembered that I asked for an earlier appointment and called me when an opening occurred. Rachel welcomed me graciously on my first appointment and chatted with me like I was an old friend. Britni was the most cheerful, reassuring, and super positive and experienced dental assistant that I thought for sure she was a dentist herself. She was warm, jovial, and so considerate that her and Dr. Pierre together seemed to anticipate every need or slight discomfort and attempt to alleviate it in whatever way they could. Kris remembered my name when I walked in for the second appt and helped me make a calendar reminder on my iphone as I left. She was social and friendly and took time to chat with me about nothing important. Dr. Pierre runs what has to be the most professional, comforting, and unbelievably proficient dental office I have ever been to. Everyone is friendly, happy, and a genuine pleasure to be around. They make the anxiety and discomfort of dental work tolerable. 5 stars. Highest recommendation. He even called me the evening after the procedure to make sure everything was okay. Who does that? Amazing!

I highly recommend going here if you require the tasks they perform. Dr. Pierre, his dental assistant (d.a.) Britni (sp.), and the front desk crew were very professional and did not disappoint. I had a root canal scheduled, and their customer service process was superb. First, they call you the day before to confirm your appointment. Then when you come in, the location of the office is in a nice building, so the waiting room is very inviting. The front two ladies were warm and friendly. The best part was the procedure. Both the dentist and d.a. introduced themselves and made sure that I was comfortable (by tuning to a likable radio station) and understood the procedure (by allowing for questions to be asked) prior to starting it. The root canal went smoothly, and what impressed me is that both Britni and Dr. Pierre seemed to understand each other well. They both knew what instrument was needed throughout the procedure and she handed it off to him as if they communicated telepathically. Most of their talking was focused on making sure that I felt comfortable. They finished the procedure by making sure I understood what was done. Basically, a business model executed perfectly. I wouldn’t say I’d like to continue business with them, as root canals are what they specialize in, but if you need to get the procedure done, look no further than this place.

I have pretty serious dental anxiety and cried for about an hour in the waiting room terrified that I might have yet another horrible dental experience that would cost exorbitant amounts of money. The staff was incredibly sweet and accommodated my every whim. It really did take me an hour just to get myself in to see the doctor for a consultation because I was that worried. The girl at the front counter was amazingly understanding and sweet to me. The dental assistant was down to earth and very calming as well. The dentist was incredibly understanding and sympathetic to my extreme anxiety. The day of the root canal I received really great treatment. Yes, I too was given a comfy blanket! I do wish they had nitrous but they accommodated me with music and good stories to ease my nerves — valium is always a major help too! =) It was a root canal miracle because I needed a few ibuprofen the day of and the next day didn’t feel much pain if any. A completey different experience than I had up the street where I was in severe pain for 2 weeks requiring Vicodin after the root canal at another dental office — and discomfort for the following year. I did get a call at home from Dr. Pierre that night to check on my tooth but by then I was fast asleep. One of the best dental experiences I’ve had hands down. If only he did other procedures besides root canals. Thanks Dr. Pierre and Staff!

I was terrified when my dentist said, «looks like you need a root canal.» I was barely 34 and was filled with serious anxiety and fear at going in for the procedure. I was referred by my dentist to Dr. Pierre and I am so thankful I have some good insurance to finally see someone so good. His staff was comforting and warm, I was offered a blanket during the procedure as well as a neck pillow. Was asked if I wanted to take my shoes off, was given a hand to hold when getting the shots in my mouth and was guided throughout the procedure with step by step, this is what is happening now, conversation. I was also told by Dr. Pierre’s staff that he had a rough experience with the dentist when he was young and that he is extra nice and hand holding when he knows his patience have extreme trepidation. I have to say, I didn’t feel any pain and everything went through without a hitch. And I am so amazed, that less than 24 hours have gone by and Dr. Pierre just called to see how I was doing. I’ve always had jenky healthcare, industrialized factory like HMO’s. This office’s bedside manner and real talent and expertise for what they are doing rate number 1. So if you are afraid of getting any kind of dental procedures done this is the place for you.

I was referred to Dr. Pierre by my dentist when he went to replace a filling and discovered it had decayed to the root… and I needed my first root canal. I was super upset because of the costs and my current financial situation — my insurance will help, but not cover all of the costs of the root canal and crown.
The whole staff was extremely warm (and very understanding of my financial worries). Dr. Peirre took the time to explain the procedure throughout, and to update me on the process, steps, and progress — I really appreciate it when doctors talk to me like I’m an intelligent human being. Dr. Peirre and his hygenist were very conscientious of my comfort and went above and beyond to minimize discomfort, from the quickness of the x-​rays to the placement of instruments.
And Dr. Pierre even called me that evening to make sure I was feeling ok and didn’t have any pain or soreness!
