LabCorp

I’ve been going to this lab for years. I’m a skill test for phlebotomists. My veins are tiny and my blood draws can easily turn into stabbing sessions. I’ve never had a bad experience with a blood draw at this lab, though sometimes there’s a little wait in the morning. It is a «one man show» and a little patience is required. This is totally normal for labs in my experience.

The correct phone number is 641‑0169. I came to this location b/​c the PG location was temporarily closed. on May 1^st. There was 1 person there. managing appts, taking insurance info, and taking blood. He was courteous. I waited (fasting) for 45 min. (4 people ahead of me) before it was clear i wasn’t going to make my next appt nearby so I left. Whoever is managing Labcorp… if you’re going to close one location temporarily then how about having an appropriate staffing level to handle the overload?

Phlebotomist was extremely experienced and polite, going the extra mile for me despite running the whole place by herself!
She was the receptionist, test order input on computer, phleb, processed and packaged the specimens… also got me test prices, allowed me to pay a bill, and offered me paperless billing!
She drew my blood and I didn’t even feel the draw!

I had tried phoning back a couple times in hopes of speaking to an actual person instead of just getting passed on to voice mail by the recorded message. About the 3^rd phone call the woman who answered immediately began complaining to me that the phone had been ringing while she had a patient and expressed that it was ANNOYING HER! Can you believe that?!! I’m just glad I was not the patient in this situation, can you imagine?! Think about that happening to you while they’ve got a needle in you! Part of her gripe was also that apparently they had the recorded message turned up full volume in the office so they had to listen to a full 2 minutes of that at full blast before it gives you the option to leave a message! Yikes. Change of plans, I immediately transferred my paperwork to the Seaside LabCorp.

I made an appointment, and was in and out in about five minutes. Phlebotomist was friendly and good at her job (I didn’t feel a thing when she drew blood). I went in on a Thursday and my doctor already had the results by the next Monday. Great service.
