Original beginning in Hawaii. Life Held Still Photography started with a specialization in Wedding and Family photography. After working with the best that Hawaii had to offer and making contacts in the Bay Area… we moved here to get the more «West Coast» vibe we’ve always loved.

Business Owner

My name is Ryan Best and I love photography. I originally began studying in photography in 2006 as a method for language study. I bought a book on photography in Chinese and feel in love while translating. Shortly after, I bought my first camera and flew to Beijing.

After moving to Hawaii in 2007 I began second shooting with photographers I loved in the area. I studied the technical details behind using the camera as well as art technique such as composition, mood, and exposure. I spent time diving with dolphins and traveling the world with my camera and I think my work shows my experience.

Life Held Still Photography came to be in 2008 and I have enjoyed working with my clients every step of the way. Let me be a part of your life (if for only just a moment or two).
