Very bad customer service, also parking place is small got a parking ticket inside the premises because I was near the driveway and part of the curb is red. The employee said it was ok to park their. yea, you think Aamco is going to pay the 41.00 dollars parking ticket heck no. Also I had to wait over an hour just to get my car out, because the vehicle in front of mine was disabled. really guys. So their are better places to take your car and avoid this sorry place. I didn’t even get an apology from the female employee who said I could park there.

We had a transmission rebuilt on a Ford Explorer 1.5 years ago at this aamco location. It cost 3.5 and took over a week to complete. Here it is 1.5 years later and… The transmission is bad. We dropped it off on Monday and didn’t hear a thing until Wednesday. How much to fix it? 3k to rebuild it. We called Destroyer Auto in Riverside and they will REPLACE the transmission for 1.5k. Enough said. So done with this place.

So, after receiving an E-​mail from the owner (Mario), we contacted him. Talking to him was like trying to fill a laundry basket with water. In a nutshell, he provided a number of deft responses why neither he, nor AAMCO, would warranty a transmission rebuild with less than 8,000 miles on it.
The list of reasons includes: this is a franchise and it was a different owner then; even though the transmission had relatively few miles on it, it failed beyond the one year mark (1 year and 3 months the first time they looked at it); he was not given an opportunity to fix it (he was, but since it was beyond one year and with a different owner, there would be no warranty so it would be expensive); and, if you want longer than one year warranty (even though the rebuild had only 8,000 miles), you need to pay an extra $ 900 for that convenience. In fact, he did not want to see any paperwork, ask to look at his business’ invoices, speak with the reputable business that repaired their error, or offer to call their corporate office before making his decision. It’s difficult to win at a shell game; if neither the corporate AAMCO office nor their franchise partners are willing to correct their obvious errors, there’s really no point in talking with them.
Without dispute, a transmission rebuild should last longer than an interval between engine oil changes. So, for those who do not put excessive miles on their vehicles, consider yourself warned: plan to spend the extra $ 900 on an extended warranty or anticipate a transmission rebuild before you need your next motor oil change.

Receptionist was friendly until I decided to take my car to another shop. Aamco neglected to put all the parts back on the car. The other transmission shop informed me that parts were missing. I went back to Aamco (7 days later/​passed) & the rude receptionist gave me the parts & said sorry. They had parts for my car for 7 days & did not call me to inform me of their error. I would give them a negative star if I could. Beware!!!

I brought my car here because I needed and A/​C service. The customer service was good and so was the price. I called around town getting quotes and AAMCO had the cheapest price. They also have a warranty on the service. The total service took about an hour then I was on my way!

I feel as sad as a person who can not understand why we do this for Money and not to serve people. Last year ¹¹⁄₂₀₁₃ I took my car to get the transmission fixed. after two days they call me and tell me that they need to redo the whole transmission and I told them that I do not have the money it was about $ 2.800.00, they said we have a program that you can be approved. With that in mind I told them to go a head and fix it. After few days they called me and told me that the car is ready to be picked up and they kept me waiting for 1 hour and then they said, we have no plans for you. The only plans we have for you is for $ 800.00 and then I paid them $ 200.00 that I had. Did not pick up the car till I had the rest of the Money to pick up the car. I picked the car up came back and game them tip. Well today my car is not running at all I took it back with stop and go finally got to Aamco. and they said that my car was not under warranty, I felt hurt and I said to my self what type of people are these… The rest is history will not go back even if I have to ride a donkey.

Save yourself the money and time, don’t come to AAMCO for your transmission repairs. I came because their marketing department is doing a phenomenal job, hear it all the time on Pandora and on TV. I went thinking they would be the transmission «experts», clearly they are not.
I went in April to have my transmission serviced, there was nothing wrong with my transmission. No rough gear changes, no skipping speeds, nothing, all gears were perfectly smooth. I got home and overnight a huge puddle of permanent staining transmission oil stained my garage floor. I called them up and they told me to bring in my vehicle, then they told me that my axle seal was broken. To begin with, the transmission had never leaked any fluid and all of a sudden they tell me that the axle seal is broken. I fork over an additional $ 260 on top of the $ 200 transmission flush.
Come September 2014 and my transmission stopped working, all the gears inside were burnt and transmission would skip speeds. I get a tow and get home safely after being in the 15 uphill. The mechanic I took it to told me never to trust AAMCO, they rip you off and don’t do a good job at all, they are the Wal-​Mart of transmission servicing. They took a look at all the seals, pan gasket, oil pan and told me everything was dry, with no sign of leaking. They told me that it seems that when I took my car to get it repaired the second time, after it had leaked almost all the transmission oil out, they never refilled it again, causing this avoidable mistake. I paid over $ 500 to AAMCO to waste. Now I had to spend over 3K to get the transmission replaced and mounted. Do yourself the favor and do not go here, please!

I’m not one to write horrendous reviews but this place and the company just made me so upset and thus they deserve a bad review.
To keep a long story short, I had a complete transmission rebuild on my Honda Accord 07′. I almost think it’s Aamco’s M.O. to make you get a transmission rebuild because they know you are stuck there… you already brought it there… so what does the average person know about transmissions. nothing, therefore you assume you need a transmission rebuild to get it to work again that will cost you $ 2800 which is usually quoted less and then they keep tacking on parts and labor because your transmission is already taken apart, what are you going to tell them to do… stop?! Oh… and they promise they will finish by a certain day but they go past by a week so they never finish on time as promised.
Anyway.the owner (at the time) claimed «It will be a just like a whole new transmission and you have Aamco’s best warranty, 3 yr 36K miles, take it to any Aamco if it breaks down.»
So they fixed it. Less than 3 yrs later and 47K miles it’s broken down. I call an Aamco close to my work… oops they can’t take it… didn’t read the fine print «has to be beyond 40 miles from the original Aamco» I work in Corona, live in Irvine, and like hell I’m driving my barely driveable car to Moreno Valley again?! So I have to choose a location inconvenient to me in Lake Forest. Lake Forest Aamco tells me as typical of Aamco «you need a transmission rebuild.» Really… AGAIN…Really?! 2 rebuilds in 3yrs you gotta be kidding me?! Oh and «your warranty is not valid»…of course. Fuming I call Aamco in Moreno Valley to see if at least they can help me our somewhat. The manager is useless… I called her in the morning for help and she told me she had to speak to the owner. I called her twice to follow up and I’m assuming the owner never came to work that day even though he was supposed to be in «in a few hours.» As of now I have heard nothing back. The last follow up call was «honestly I don’t think they will do anything, you are passed your warranty… you have driven it too far beyond the warranty to make any exceptions.» 10K miles is FAR BEYOND FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION?!
Anyway…if you learned anything from me… stay away from Aamco and especially this Aamco. Otherwise you’ll need two transmission rebuilds in 3 yrs.

These guys are the most unprofessional jerks around. I brought in my car on Friday at 11:00am. Transmission was slipping. They do a free diagnostic and then tell me it’s gonna be 3 – 400 dollars. I’m upset at the price but I tell them to go ahead and fix it. They had it overnight. The next morning I’m told it’s gonna be $ 850, and it’s not done yet. I didn’t hear anything all day and they closed at 12, so I sent my friend down to see if they were still even open and when he gets there, the shop workers were about to pull down the door and leave for the day. He said,“what about this car here you’ve had for 2 days?” Answer: «oh we were just about to take it for a test drive to see if it’s done.» The car was parked 4 cars inside the garage and the they were shutting off the lights. So they are blatantly lying. Then I miraculously get a phone call from them saying that now it’s done, come pick it up. Unbelievable, cost twice as much, and terrible service. Avoid this place like Ebola.

I would never recommend this place. I brought my car in due to my check engine light came on and my transmission was acting up. After they did a flush on it (or so they say) and told me they would have to take it apart to let me know the problem. I called every other day (as they weren’t calling me) to ask if they knew yet what was wrong and all I kept hearing was my car was next and I should have answer in couple days. Well again NO call I had to keep calling. Finally after having my car for 2+ weeks they told me it would be $ 2,500 to rebuild transmission, I told them I wasn’t going to pay that as car was not worth that amount. So they were going to put it back together and I will be charged $ 700 for them taking it apart. AGAIN I had to call to see if my car was ready and AGAIN I was told I was next and it would be a couple of days. They had my car for a total of 34 days and it cost me $ 700 for NO repairs. VERY unhappy with service, but I do have to praise the girl at the desk as she was the ONLY one who was nice and who actually seem to care. The WORST place EVER!!!

Never trust a place that quotes you a price over the phone, keeps your car overnight, calls you half way through the business day, and nearly triples the price! That is a shady way of doing business, and therefore they will not receive our business, and I’m pretty irritated they just cost me the time of driving down there waiting around and I had to leave my vehicle there overnight!!! Shady shady shady!!!

I had 4 options when my tranny went south. As I support local business and I had a very ‘specific’ problem with my transmission, I choose the ‘rebuild’ option and wanted it done by someone who knows transmissions.
The job was completed on time. :)
The price was very competitive with the out of area solutions.
They recommended a solution to the speedo issue I was having, which I agreed tohave done.
It’s been 3 months later and the tranny works perfect. I feel I can drive my favorite car another 130,000 miles before thinking of its replacement.
I would use these folks for automotive repair, and I appreciate their help. The last thing I needed in this tough economy was buying a new car when I am the origninal owner and this one was well cared for.

Save yourself some time and stay away! Just keep driving, don’t even look at it. Come here and you’ll feel like THEY’RE the ones doing you a favor. Thankfully I walked out of here not giving them any money and not wasting too much of my time. I came here for a SIMPLE diagnosis, I decided not to get one after receiving poor customer service. This place will not acknowledge you as a customer.

Yet another update. After a visit from the Bureau of Automotive Repair, Wes still refuses to refund our money. My brother, who is a Marine Corps helicopter mechanic, finally was able to come look at my car. The very FIRST thing he noticed was a severed cooling system hose. Aamco never noticed this hose and joint were broken. They had my car for a week. How pathetic. I uploaded photos of this broken hose and joint. The only reason I didn’t notice it before was because it was barely hanging on and my brother says I never drove fast enough after getting it back from Aamco for the coolant to come gushing out. I never drove it long because of the electrical issue Aamco caused. This situation is not dealt with, Aamco. I think you know I will be taking you to court.
They destroyed my car. They messed up my wiring. They NEVER fixed my overheating issue. They refused to give my money back even though the government told them to. These people are incompetent and you would be a fool to take your car to them. I only wish we had discovered the problem earlier so that it could have been included in my case with the Bureau. Such is life, but these crooks will not be getting away with this.

Fair and honest. Has never performed repairs on my car that I didn’t need. Will go there again when I need clutch/​transmission work done.

Professional shop, no extra charges. Got my car’s clutch adjusted with no issues. Will be my first choice for future transmission/​clutch problems.

Best Mechanic Experience EVER!!! While on a road trip my transfer case was malfunctioning and I pulled over and got a room for the night. When I called before they opened in the morning I had a friendly voice tell me to bring it in and he will make sure to look at it today (on a Saturday!). As promised Michael got it in and figured out some minor things that fixed the problem. Including the fact that he took me back to the hotel after I dropped it off, picked me up, replaced my fuses (and stocked up my spare fuses), fixed the electrical issue that was causing the problem and then didn’t charge me for the service, I would recommend this shop to anyone. I have never met a more helpful, honest, professional mechanic ever. Great business ethic. By the way I found out that you need to use an AAMCO to fix your transmission because it is warrantied by any AAMCO I wouldn’t have been so afraid when it went bad in the middle of the desert. You won’t be disappointed with this shop.
