Supported Living means the endorsed services that provide the opportunity for individuals with developmental disabilities to live in a residence of their own choice within the community. At Spread Your Wings, we feel our consumers should at all times have a lifestyle that consists of quality and the opportunity to live where they want, with whom they want, for as long as they desire, with a recognition that needs and aspiration may change overtime. We respect, encourage, and support our client’s choices/​goals, which will help consumers have a high quality of life. Participant’s choices vary from housing, religion, friends, shopping, education, meals, and programs’ in the community, care providers, clothes, job opportunities and events. Spread Your Wings Inc. and staff members will assist individuals to accomplish these daily tasks. An individual serviced by Spread Your Wings will always be involved as much as they can and want to be, regarding the choices of their life. We at Spread Your Wings Inc. in collaboration with participants «Circle of Support» are keen on assisting participants when and if they need support with overwhelming responsibilities.

History

Established in 2014.

Spread Your Wings was founded by CEO Andrew Serry Dumbuya. He believes that most agencies provide quantity of care instead of quality of care. This is why he decided to start Spread Your Wings. He wants to offer quality of care instead of quantity of care. He believe that providing high quality Supported Living Services to persons with developmental disabilities is not only important, but it should be done with respect, dignity, and pride. One of his missions is to empower all of clients ay SYW. His vision for his company to teach and ensure that each individual we serve live, learn and succeed as independently as possible in the comfort of their own home/​environment in which they feel most comfortable. Andrew other mission is to hires the best direct care staff that cares about the people we serve. His general philosophy is clients and staff working as partner with mutual respect to help the client reach their goals and aspiration in life.

Business Owner

Andrew founded SYW in 2014 to provide quality of services to people with disabilities. When Andrew came to the US, he met his mother working with people with developmental disabilities and he fell in love with compassion his mother showed to people she was working for. His mother wanted to open up her own program, but she did not have the financial capabilities to start her business. Andrew began to work on helping his mother realize her dream by starting up his own agency. Andrew’s dream is making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities in every county within the state of California. Andrew holds his BA in political Science and has worked for SLS agency Greater Opportunities for 4 years, Momentum for Mental Health for 5 years and Santa Clara County as a rehab counselor. He is a Licensed Administrator who holds a certificate for Mental Health Rehab Specialist. Andrew’s role at SYW is to direct the company, inside and out, as well as, to oversee all operation & financ
