After getting failed at a shotty garage for not passing the «visual inspection» I took my car here to superior and they told me that there was nothing visually and ran the test and passed. Straight up and honest guys that work here and would recommend any of there services. They put my stressful experience at ease. Thank you guys so much.

This place is awesome for getting your car smog! I thought I would need to make an appointment but did not have to. I was treated very well and the service was quick. I even got a quote on a door lock repair that I might want to fix in the future! Thanks so much!

«Superior» is the absolute right word. I took my vintage Minniewinnie here because I was told they were the only ones who would touch a few issues on a unit this old. Steve, was very good at alerting me to the possible costs and what it would cost just to figure out what the real issue was. I went forward and it did take some serious bucks but nothing he hadn’t prepped me for and offered pro/​cons on going forward at each step.
Even better is his advice. Just today I called to add a few items to my repair list and he went over them with me and advised against spending the money based on his knowledge of my plans even though I’m a green-​horn and could easily have spent money that wasn’t needed.
Steve is the very best and I’ve recommended him to everyone I meet every day. You can’t go wrong at Superior Automotive.

Let me tell ya, Steve and his business practice is the best the industry has to offer. I had taken Steve a vehicle 10 months ago and it recently had an issue. I did not know the issue was related to the work that had been done involving a faulty part. The tow company towed the vehicle to The Ford Store and what a mistake. I spoke with Steve and he explained the warranty coverage. The vehicle was yanked away from Ford and taken to Steve.
Steve has worked on my vehicles and has gone out of his way to help me stay safe and save money. I would recommend Superior Auto and Radiator to anyone needing piece of mind with their vehicles.

I took my 2006 Diesel Pusher motorhome to get the Freightliner M3 service thinking it was going to cost me thousands just for the service. First they did an inspection which found several things that needed to be fixed, some of which I knew about and several I never suspected. They fixed a bundle of wire that got munched by a slide mechanism and worked with my insurance company to get everything that was wrong fixed under my extended warranty. They ordered a new monitor for my backup camera and I requested to install that myself because I had an idea to make it look better. No problem.
I had disassembled the previous monitor and found several bad solder joints. Steve did the same thing but suggested that repairing Weldex monitors rarely works long term and would cost more money in the long run than replacing it. I’m glad I followed Steve’s advice.

Just brought in my 10 year old Toyota Sienna to have my door fixed. Steve fixed my door and wiring right up, much cheaper than if I’d gone to a dealer. He was courteous, professional, and communicated with me every step of the way. I left his shop extremely satisfied. I will be coming again next time I need servicing done.

Rude service. I just got a flat on 101 southbound closest to Morgan Hill city so this was the first tire place that popped up on Unilocal.I called and asked how much a used tire for my car describing the model before I finish my sentence he cut me off and said «I don’t sell used tires here. I have my other line ringing. «then I said alright how much for a new one, to which he replied «I don’t do quotes over the phone you need to come by» and I said well I just got a flat and –he cut me off again and said this time extremely rudely «Look I don’t do quotes over the phone, I have my other line ringing — to then I had enough gave him a piece of my mind and hung up!
I called the second tire place on Unilocal Advanced Wheels and he gave me a quote over the phone without any hassle for a used one or a new one. I came down he was real nice looked at my tire and told me he will have it taken care of.

Steve and his techs have been doing maintenance and repairs on my ford windstar mini van for 2 years. I have never had any problems dealing with them. They are professional, honest, and very helpful! Thank you Steve and crew!

Brought a Acura RSX here for a smog check, and the guy at the front desk was super helpful! It only took about 15 minutes, and he even warned me about some maintenance items to pay attention to. I’d definitely bring my other cars here for a smog check, I used the Unilocal coupon too so it was fast and cheap!

I wanted to give an update. Once again Steve has gone above and beyond and saved me a ton of money! I am in the market for a used car for my teenage driver. I thought I had found «the one». this weekend. Well before I could even get it in to Steve for his professional opinion he had background information on the vehicle (it wasn’t good). Thank you Superior Automotive!

It was great working with Steve and Phil to get my car back in working order. Steve does a great job explaining the work that is going to be done and recommends small adjustments after looking at the big picture of the situation. Steve explained all the charges and recommended work before digging into my car. His knowledge made me feel comfortable with the work that was about to be done. My car is running great, looking great and I am confident in the work.

I followed up with Steve because of another new technical problem after his work was performed with the plastic protection plate which was wired or zip tied on the underside of our car. We’ve never had a problem getting the oil changed but on our first oil change after Steve’s work we are now forced to zip tie this plastic shield on.
Filing a complaint with the better business bureau due to owner non-​cooperation; charging more than estimate as well as not repairing damage to oxygen sensor from their precious work.

Honestly, don’t waste your time or money going to this place. The work is sub par and they really don’t stand behind it.
I spent over 4K to have an engine rebuilt here a while back that lasted under 5K miles. Owner didn’t help at all to get the job re-​done right and I had to sell the car as a mechanic special.
Take my advice, Stay Away!!!

called around for a last minute smog certificate and they were the cheapest, so why not? Walked in to a friendly reception and they said it would be about 15 minutes. It was done faster than that! Quick… easy…and not as expensive as the competitors! :)

I’ve you’ve read my other automative repair reviews, you know I am picky about who touches my vehicles. Generally I do my own work, and I only bring a car to someone if they know more than I do, or I don’t have time for the job and need someone I can trust to do it with the attention I would give.
For general mechanic service, as well as specialty categories, like air conditioning and radiator flushing, these guys are the only ones in town I trust, beside the Ford Store. And the Ford Store can’t work on my 2003 BMW 760Li, a very rare beast.
If I did not do my own work, I would trust Superior Automotive and Radiator with all the maintenance and repairs on my BMW.
I first met Steve when I needed to get a real serious coolant system flush after I had diesel fuel in my coolant from the infamous injector cup job on a 7.3L PSD. The Ford Store did the replacement of the cups, but their flush job left lots of diesel in the system. I first called Superior because of the name «Radiator» in the title. But once he completed the job, and we had discussed how thorough he was about it, I realized the shop was much more.
Recently, I did a complete transplant of a newer engine, transmission, A/​C compressor, you name it, into my BMW 760Li at my house. I needed someone to help me get the A/​C back up and running and I called Steve first. There were a few hiccups, due to me not being prepared fully, but Steve managed the situation (and me) well and helped me get her up and running.
Let’s not forget the techs he has working for him. Look at my motto: «The fish usually stinks from the head down… don’t blame the waiter…» This puts most of the blame for a bad experience anywhere on the management. It’s up to management to hire people who reflect their own knowledge set and ideals, and to ensure the techs can repeat that experience time after time. Steve’s techs are obviously well-​picked and trained.
The rest of the 4 and 5 star reviews tell it like it is: Morgan Hill and for that matter, South San Jo and Gilroy, have a great shop they can depend upon.

Simply the best service. The people here are very knowledgeable, care about their work and honest to the core. The rates are reasonable and the work is excellent. I have no complaints.

We have taken our Winnebago to Steve several times now. He knows RVs inside and out and he is honest and reliable. He has fixed issues with our air conditioner/​radiator, suspension and recently a smog test.
We made a big mistake letting other places try to smog our RV. They were clueless on how to perform the tests on a motor home. We were told that it would fail. One place wanted to charge us an extra $ 200! We came to Steve with our smog woes. He immediately knew what the other guys were doing wrong and told me that it probably would pass the test when done properly.
Guess what! It did pass. His fee? It was the same amount I paid for my car. The icing on the cake is… Steve checked over our RV with a fine tooth comb to make sure everything is in tip top shape. Service like that is a rare find.
Superior Automotive is now the only place we ever take our Winnebago for service.

Last week, the transfer case position switch on my Jeep Liberty Renegade failed and here I am driving in 4×4 to and from work on 101, burning gas 10 miles per gallon, unable to switch back from the off-​road mode. So I did my research about the problem, made some calls and got the idea about the repairs necessary and costs involved. But since we moved to the Central Coast only 2.5 years ago, I didn’t have a regular mechanic yet. So a good friend of mine recommended this shop in Morgan Hill.
I called and spoke to Steve and when I described what’s going on, he told me exactly what the problem was, quoted the prices for the position switch and the labor [which exactly matched the prices I researched ahead of time], ordered the part and scheduled the repairs for the very next day. The next day, I showed up at my appointment time of 2pm and the guys drove my car right onto the hydraulic lift without even slightest wait. One hour and a half later, I had my car back with the position switch fixed and changed oil.
They offer a great service, and Steve is incredibly knowledgeable about everything «automotive». He also proved to be an honest business owner with the great integrity and respect for my time and investment. I will have no problem driving from San Juan Bautista to make sure that my car is in the good hands… Strongly recommend this shop…

I really like steve’s honest services. I have used him a few times, but my dad on the other hand, I think he has a special entrance. Steve is very technical and I have found he is very helpful… I’m not afraid to leave him with a difficult or complex situation, with possibly computerized systems.

Ever wonder if you will ever find an automobile repair shop that talks clearly, is enthusiastic about their work and does it right the first time? Well look no further than Superior Automotive of Morgan Hill. I live about 25 minutes from their shop, but it is well worth the time to make the drive. The owner, Steve really understands how to explain the problems of and repair the computer driven automobile of today.
