Tsuru Dental Care

Dr Keith Shimimoto is the best dentist I have had and I have had many as I have moved several times. He is a pleasure to talk to, very adept and gentle. He works quickly and does whatever he can to make sure one’s teeth are in the best condition possible.

Outstanding. Dr Shimamoto is an excellent doctor who is super nice and caring. The receptionist Claudia is the best; she’s a down-​to-​earth person. I saw Doctor Dee today; she’s very nice, good and gentle. This is the best dental office. I drive from San Jose to Morgan Hill to see them because I know I’m in good hands.

Our family had been going to the same dentist for years but we recently moved to the Morgan Hill area. Looking for a new dentist, we decided to try Tsuru Dental based on Unilocal reviews and location. It is a small but outstanding Family dental practice which we liked. Receptionist was very nice and welcoming, as was the entire staff. I saw Dr. Kirk Shimamoto and and my daughter saw Dr. Bruce Kawano. It was nice to both be seen at the same time! Both doctors are very nice, mellow and thorough! I was so impressed that the doctors themselves, not only do the exam BUT ALSO the majority of the cleaning! I felt that was so much more thorough and I feel that they caught issues with my daughters’ teeth that were likely overlooked at her last cleaning at our old office. We’ve found our new dental office and I’ll be sure to refer my friends to them as well! Thank you Tsuru Dental! :)

Tsuru is an outstanding Family dental practice. My husband and I see Dr. Kirk and have been bringing our children here since they were both 3. This says alot~not once have my kids been traumatized after sitting in the chair because of the patience and the way the Dr’s and supporting staff interact with the kids.

Kirk is the best dentist I’ve ever had. When I got my fillings I barely felt the needle and didn’t feel any pain during drilling. He does an awesome job everytime!!!

Just had my dentist appointment with Dr. Kirk Shimamoto today. I have not seen a dentist in several years because I just have not found one I felt comfortable with. Finally got the nerve recently to seek out a new dentist in my dental plan. Well, I have to say that almost immediately Dr. Kirk (and the hygienist) put me at ease and the whole process went very smoothly. He is truly a wonderful dentist and I have already scheduled an appointment for the whole family. Claudia (at the front desk) was very professional and pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend Dr. Kirk and his staff.

I really like this dentist and great to be back (different HMO insurance so went to another), new dental plan back to the dentist I prefer. Professional, gentle, cordial.

I started coming here thanks to a referral from Dr. McMurray (hands down best oral surgeon in bay area). To me, there are three things that make for a great dental experience, the doctor, the assistant, and the front office staff. This offices excels in all three areas.
Dr. Shimamoto is very good, gentle, and is definitely the best dentist I have ever had. I had been terrified to see any dentist before (based on more than a few bad experiences), but meeting Dr. Shimamoto changed my dentist experience. He explains everything and always gives me options.
The office is professional, competent, and has a great system set up for communicating with their patients.

My daughter referred me to this office. My dad was my dentist all my life. He passed away last year. I was fearful to go to someone else but pain forced me to find a dentist. The staff was wonderful and so was my dentist. I feel so grateful that I found them. There is no reason to worry here.

I’ve been going to this dentist for over ten years now, and they are fantastic. To start, the receptionists are soooo friendly. They always call to remind me of my appointments, and sometimes they offer to let me come in a little earlier because of a cancellation, and I always appreciate that. They greet me by name when I walk in and actually remember details about my life. It’s so nice to be treated like an actual person with a life while in a medical office!
I’m never in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes, even when I show up a solid 15 minutes early to my appointment. They are so on top of things! The office is bright and clean, and the equipment is all new. The hygienist always comes in right away when I’m in the chair to get things started, and the dentist comes in very soon after. Dr. Kirk is one of the dentists, and he’s so awesome. He also remembers details about my life, and he doesn’t awkwardly ask me questions when his instruments are in my mouth, haha.
They never try to upsell me anything. I take excellent care of my teeth and gums, and every 6 months, so do they. With their amazing dental care, I don’t have to pay for deep cleanings or anything like that, and they don’t try and sell me anything like that when I don’t need it. A lot of dentist offices try to do that sort of thing, but they don’t do it here and I appreciate their ethics.
If your insurance allows you to come here, do it! There’s too many shady dentists out there to pass up the good ones. I love Tsuru and highly recommend!

Dentists are professional and do good work, however, the staff is less then pleasant to put it mildly. I did not receive the feeling that they were working with me at all more like against me. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Sorry for the dentists, cause I never had a problem with their work. It’s the staff that has a bit of an attitude problem and lack of general empathy or care. If you chose to go here, good luck. Hopefully you’re treated much more friendly then I was. I sure hope so.

The staff was friendly and helpful and the facility was comfortable. I had to have a wisdom tooth pulled and honestly hardly felt the needles, not to mention the procedure was done very quickly. I thought we had just started and it was over. The follow up care was good and the swelling was minimal. Compared to my other experiences, this was by far the best.
