456 Embarcadero Inn & Suites

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Great front desk staff, easy check in and got an upgraded room too. Great location, view of the bay. The room was very clean and just remodeled. They have a fair pet fee and did not hear any sounds at night. Next time we are in Morro bay this is where we will be staying. The best hotel here.

Very clean. Nice people at check in. Easy check in. Room was spacious, updated, and well appointed. I loved the courtesy bath robes! The continental breakfast included DIY Belgian waffles. Easy walk to all the shops and restaurants on the embarcadero. Some rooms have better views than others. Although the room was big, you did have to lift the toilet seat to close the bathroom door. I read in other reviews that the walls were thin and they were right. All in all, we would stay there again.

STAY AGAIN: Yes! Excellent location, great view of the estuary. Nice little balcony. Very comfortable and great for walking along Embarcadero Blvd. Parking under the hotel — very convenient. Our first trip to Morro Bay and a really great place to stay.

From the moment I checked in and was greeted by the friendly staff I knew I would enjoy this Inn. Every staff member I encountered from the office to my room was friendly and greeted me (in this day and age where customer service seems to be a forgone myth this was wonderful). The room was great the beds nice and comfy a wonderful view of the Bay from my balcony. The continental breakfast was just what we needed to start the day. Anyone who previously wrote a bad review obviously has not been here recently. I have nothing negative to say about the hotel the staff or the area it was all great and I will return.

I really wanted to give this place five stars, but, sadly I just can’t. The place has just been renovated and is VERY nice inside. There were however three things that need improvement. The first is that in the tub/​shower, they offer a wall unit that dispenses shampoo, conditioner and gel. I know it’s an effort to reduce the carbon footprint, which is cool, but most folks would prefer bar soap and bottled shampoos. At least you know what you’re using. FYI, bring your own stuff if you feel the same way. The second is that the housekeeper is told to leave the sliding doors open a tad after servicing the room. They say it’s to keep the air fresh. Frankly, we felt it was not secure. When you leave the room, lock your bags or put them in your car. There is no safe in the room either. The last, which was the biggest issue for us, was the hot tub, or the lack of one. The hot tub itself looked beautiful. The hours, however suck. Three pm to nine pm daily. Not great if you enjoy using it in the morning after a run or to sit and read the morning paper. The night we chose to use the hot tub, we hurried back from dinner only to find it «closed for maintenance.» Nice. As it would happen, some ass clown decided to ignore their kid (s) and the said kid (s) dropped a deuce in it, ruining it for everyone. So much for «adult supervision». Don’t mind the fact that we rushed back from dinner and I had purchased a new suit to wear in the tub earlier in the day. Kind of a sad ending to what had previously been a really nice vacation…

As soon as we checked in we were greeted by a super friendly man who made us feel really welcomed. My first introduction of the place and was already left with a great impression from the beginning. Went up to our room (202) and it was so nice inside! The view on the balcony was beautiful! The rock was obstructed by another inn but we had the water and boats directly in front of us. We’ve sat on the balcony the last two days watching the boats sail by and the otters swim by. Across the street is a little «park» (basically a place with benches to look out at the water) with a public dock to go down to the water. We’ve enjoyed watching the sea lions and otters from there as well.
Inside the room they have a refrigerator, microwave (free bag of popcorn inside to pop… What a treat!!!), free wifi, cable, hair dryer (thank you! Forgot mine and Madonna Inn did not have the night before we arrived), robes, coffee, tea, and a fireplace. I mean this room is really nice inside and has a clean feel about it.
They also have a jacuzzi on the second floor in its own room. Inside there it has windows that look outside, but the lower half is private, fresh clean towels, an orchid (nice touch), and a bathroom. This whole thing is in a private room by itself for all guest to use. My only complaint is, it’s only open from 3pm-​10. We were told we could go in early but it wouldn’t be heated. Having morning access would have been nice. You do need your room key to enter this room.
On the third floor they have free breakfast with plain and everything bagels, toast, packaged cream cheese, peanut butter, and jelly. 3 kinds of cereal, yogurt, fresh melon, hard boiled eggs, and make your own waffles with a yummy apple topping in a crockpot, and whip cream. For drinks they have coffee, orange juice, guava orange juice, and water.
We visit Morro Bay 2 – 3 times a year, but this was our first visit here. We have loved our visit and will definitely be booking another stay in the future.
Don’t be afraid to stay here!

We stayed in room 202. It looked recently remodeled with dark wood laminate floors and cool gray décor. The room was well appointed with microwave, mini fridge, fireplace And a balcony with view of harbor… plus complimentary breakfast. I couldn’t believe how nice the room was based on the price we paid. I highly recommend

Absolutely loved 456 Embarcadero Inn! We stayed for 3 nights in room 304 for a little spring break getaway on April 1^st. We checked in very easily and fast from a very friendly agent. Went straight to out room that was ready for us. Our room was very roomy and we had a fantastic view of the bay. The property has an incredible location, very quiet and walkable street to almost everything you want. Definitely will stay here again when we visit Morrow Bay. We had a wonderful, relaxing few days!

Great view, convenient location, nice and helpful staff. We would definitely stay here again. Rooms were clean and comfy and had everything we needed. Good hotel breakfast, waffle makers, juice, fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, enough to have a good breakfast on the house before you start your day. And walking distance to all the bay front businesses that you want to visit when you come to Morro Bay.

We just stayed three night at this lovely inn and couldn’t have had a better time! The room was spacious and recently renovated. It was spotless and comfortable as well as being quiet and serene. Can’t say enough! The breakfast was okay, pretty standard included hotel breakfast, but with so many great breakfast places within walking distance, there were choices. I would most certainly return to this amazing inn.

King suite with fireplace corner room for a night with the family. What a great hotel! Huge room with a king bed and a sofa couch, fireplace, keit if, vizio flat screen, HUGE BALCONY with great views (see pic), a short walk to all the great restaurants that morro bay has to offer, and the famously small and unique morro bay aquarium. Staff is friendly. Parking was abundant. RECENTLY RENOVATED – as of ²⁄₂₀₁₆ the room was like brand new.

I recomend this beautiful hotel in Morro Bay! Nice views, complete breakfast and very good atention from the owner! I highly recomend everyone who wants to rest, eat and have a good time. Extra: the hot tube is amazing!!!

We loved our room, a gorgeous balcony to sip wine and watch the sunset! The staff was friendly, the room was clean although I wish I would have brought my suit to enjoy the indoor Hot Spa room! In Room 213 the microwave and fridge were helpful and a plus but just remember to bring your own hairdryer (I did)! The Hotel was walking distance from everything, which was great! We shall return next New Years Eve!

Lovely room, large Spacious and very clean. Nice view of the harbor. Nice extra touches in the room.

Great view from 211, close to everything, small pets accepted, really nice comfortable bed and great hot tub. Front desk people were exceptionally friendly and out going. Definitely recommend for a relaxing and romantic getaway. November 13^th –November 15^th had some amazing sunsets and enjoyed from our room.

Our Anniversary Weekend

First off — My husband and I were greeted with a warm smile and a warm hello as soon as we entered the office for check in. Jessica who works in the office is amazing and a friendly face that makes you feel welcomed. The room we stayed in was quaint and cozy. We had a view of the harbor and Morro Rock which was pretty amazing. You could see the boats sailing by from our room, which was pretty cool. Something you don’t see everyday. Room was very clean and the staff that works there were very friendly. We will definitely be staying there again!!!
Thank you Jessica for making us feel at home and the compliments on the car. You were wonderful and so is the staff you work with.

Stayed here again on our way through in August and returning past in September 4, 2015.
Second visit — carpeting in 308 was dirty. We were told when we registered we were being given an «upgrade». We noticed no difference whatsoever in this room and the prior one during our stay on 8/​31, except possibly one extra foot width in the room and a slightly wider end table… oh, and the crane at the dock outside our window.
I struggle with this hotel. It could be SO much better with a little capital. If they upgraded their beds (which are horribly firm and uncomfortable) and pillows that would be a start. I just feel for $ 200.00 plus per night for a room it should be clean and comfortable. This one doesn’t really meet the bar.
Just read the staff’s note in response to my review regarding my stay in August/​Sept 2015. Looking forward to upgrades and improvements. Meanwhile, keep the carpeting clean. I must say there was an incident with a Jeep Wrangler’s car alarm going off (the owner lost his keys during a drunken bar scene the night previously and had to call AAA who had to essentially break into the vehicle and disconnect the battery.) Made a bunch of noise but the manager was very nice and apologetic about it. We were up early so it didn’t bother us. Otherwise the location is pretty quiet.
I may give it another try during my next trip up the coast.

Great place to stay, can walk everywhere, clean and friendly.

The location is great. I had no trouble with noise but then again I am a fraternity member and I have a high tolerance so I didn’t notice anything. I was promised online a room with a balcony and a fireplace. I received neither. I had to pay an extra 40 for the balcony or I would be spending the night in this depressed half a window room in the corner. Once we were moved we found no fireplace oh well. The TV was a little small for the room. The bed was comfy and the view was weak but at least I could breath. It’s a average hotel.
