Gardens by Gabriel is a full-​service ecologically based landscape firm specializing in the design, installation, and continued care of sustainable garden environments. Utilizing native Californian and Mediterranean plants, we create gardens that are drought-​tolerant, beautiful, and hardy year-​round.

Our gardens are geared towards highlighting your interests and building a pleasurable environment tailored for outdoor living. We offer natural stonework, landscape lighting, edible plantings, and water and fire features to give your outdoor space that one-​of-​a kind appeal.

History

Established in 2001.

Gardens by Gabriel migrated to California’s Central Coast in 2006.

We have seen many local gardens and landscapes in our neighborhood by Gardens by Gabriel. When it came time for our garden to get an upgrade Gabriel was our first call. He came to our home, took down the information, shared our vision and also gave us some great suggestions. He promised us an estimate within the week. Ten days later my wife called to remind him we had not yet had the courtesy of a follow up call. He assured us it was on its way by the end of the week. Now nearly a month later we have not heard back from him. There are a lot of options, many of whom want to work and treat their potential customers professionaly. We’ve moved on to a company who is both professional and courageous. We’ve also told other neighbors who are seeking a landscaper to not bother to call Gabriel because while he may be an outstanding landscape architect he has poor follow-​up skills.

Our yard was transformed from something beautiful, yet sterile (can that be?!) and very water-​dependent, to something we could only envision in our minds: beautiful, native, drought tolerant and fun.
The crew was great. Never felt worried to leave the house unlocked for their hygiene needs.
I very much appreciate Gabriel’s final day walk through to discuss care and maintenance of the yard, and his commitment to return soon to make sure everything continues to thrive.
When my wife and I are in the front yard, almost every driver that passes our house honks and gives us the thumbs up. Those honks are all for Gabriel and Victor’s crew! I couldn’t be more highly appreciative, and I recommend Gardens by Gabriel to everyone!

Gabriel and his staff are definitely five star! He first did our backyard — it was quite the challenge but he exceeded our expectations! We loved his work so much that we used him again for our front yard. Once again, we were thrilled with the results! Gabriel is very knowledgeable and you can tell that he loves what he does. He and his crew are polite, responsive and very knowledge. It was a joy to work with him and his crew — even now he’s willing to answer questions regarding the plantings, etc. You won’t go wrong using Gardens by Gabriel!

Gabriel worked with us to develop a plan to suit our space and our budget. Phase I of our project was completed on schedule and on budget. The GBG staff is very friendly and courteous. Gabriel runs a great operation and we would recommend GBG to all of our friends.
We absolutely love how our yard looks now and can’t wait to begin Phase II!

Gabriel Frank, owner of Gardens by Gabriel, consulted on the design of and did the complete installation of our whole new landscape on the ocean front in Cayucos. GBG maintains it some 6 months later. Gabriel has a responsive English speaking crew of 3, each of whom knows gardening and landscape maintenance enough that I can discuss issues and get action even when Gabriel isn’t here himself. GBG brought our project in on time and almost within budget. The installation phase was definitely 5 star. The reason for the lack of a 5th star overall is that I wish the ongoing maintenance didn’t cost so much.

A wonderful team of professional, conscious, hardworking, reliable courteous and friendly landscapers. Gabriel created a garden vision from a draft plan from un-​landscaped dirt land to an elegant, low maintenance draught tolerant haven that we can relax in, both to admire and enjoy. Their fee was reasonable, we did have a small problem with irrigation that Gabriel personally came and rectified almost immediately. We have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending these creative «wizards»!
