The store was started in 1973 by Harold Zeitman my father-​in-​law. My husband Paul and myself are second generation family running the store. We are both from the bay area. I’m originally from the East Bay, born in Berkeley. My husband is from the South Bay.

This is our go-​to place for all sorts of household, hardware, keys, knife sharpening and garden items. Store entrance is in back with plenty of parking (no access on El Camino side). I absolutely dread going to Home Depot. Far prefer to support a small local business and honestly it is a far superior shopping experience. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Reminds me of the hardware store I would visit with my dad when I was a kid. I hope to God this space does not get redeveloped. The trend may be online shopping, but when you have a quirky problem there is no app that can replace the True Value experience.
Note: True Value is only accessible from back entrance, take side street to right of Mountain View Surplus (as you are facing the store) which is the adjacent business, also worth a look!

I need to find a screw for my headboard and the staff there was just so helpful even if the screw set is less than $ 2. But it is difficult to find a parking place using google map.

I love this store! Every time I go in there I find more than what I went in for. The size of the store is just what I can manage. They keep it clean & well organized and everyone is always helpful, knowledgeable & friendly. I shop there regularly, but this time I needed help with a project. They had everything I needed and at good prices. The owner can do this because they are part of a co-​op, giving them big box store buying power.
Kudos to David for helping me figure out how to make my weather proofing project happen!

The staff is really nice and helpful. An old gentle man help me. I just bought a 35 cent screw and he spent lots of time to find the screw for me. I would come to him next time.
The shop is not big but you should be able to find anything you need here.

I have lived in mountain view my whole life and have driven past blossom hardware a uncountable amount of times. Today I had to have a key made and I went inside and was amazed by the cleanliness and how HUGE it was.
Awesome customer service. Five stars for Linda the gal working the cash register who made by day with her awesome customer service skills and the small talk and asking how my day was.

Excellent hardware store where the staff is really helpful, prices are reasonable and a really good selection. This is a store where people care about their customers. I came in with a lock that was broken and instead of trying to sell me a whole shrink-​wrapped replacement (like at the big chain stores), they found just the bit of the mechanism that I needed and installed it for me – at half the price! It’s not as big as the chains but they have a great selection, because they tend to stock one good quality item instead of seven shrink wrapped variants of the same thing. Go to Blossom and you’ll get good, personal service, and you’ll find what you need at a reasonable price!

A nice throwback to the old days of hardware stores that you just don’t see in newer discount stores. This provides some flip/​flop in terms of service. They are very helpful, but frequently steer you towards what you don’t need or the highest price of what you’re looking for. Still it’s nice to have some of the customer service you just don’t get at a discount store! Decent selection, good service, not the best price wise…3 stars.

I stopped in after work to pick up a can of spray paint and had a great experience! They had a surprising number of choices, considering the relatively small size of the store, and the gentleman who helped me was super nice and helpful, even giving me a couple of tips for best spray painting practices. The store seems to have a pretty varied selection of things and it feels very cozy and neighborhood-​y, so I’ll definitely be back!

This review is long overdue. I went to Blossom True Value Hardware to get my knives sharpened. The Henckels set that I brought was a gift from my mom from 20 years ago! Very sentimental and a very fine set of knives. Anyhow … brought them in and the gentleman who helped me took great care of them. He was knowledgeable and incredibly considerate. I brought them in at 6 and they close at 7, but he made sure that they would be done before closing — even though he didn’t have to. He was truly accommodating of me and this kind of service is almost extinct in this area. And oh my goodness the knives cut through everything with ease. They’re awesome. I am so grateful for the fine work — and maybe even more the customer service. Thank you.

Went in because my daughter’s new bike frame had threaded holes too big for the screws that came with her new rack. The screw was definitely an odd shape, and I had no idea how big the thread needed to be to fit the bike, but Lynda took to the challenge and searched a long time until she had found several possible options in various sizes that might work. She sent me home without charging me anything and just asked to come me to come back with the parts that I didn’t need, and to bring the bike back in case what she gave me didn’t work (the ones she gave me did work). That was a lot of personal attention for what ended up being a $ 2 sale. I’ve been here several times with some pretty oddball needs and have never left without what I was looking for.

Mountain View’s little piece of Middle America. The staff are always helpful although sometimes charmingly grumpy. The store layout is very functional and compact — no room for frills when you have to fit all of those shelves of oddments. Selection includes hardware as well as gardening supplies and a surprisingly wide assortment of kitchen implements. When they were out of stock on the crock pot I was looking for, they told me where else to go look for it.
They share an unpaved back parking lot with the military surplus store next door, separate from the parking for other neighboring businesses.

The people who work here are very helpful. I asked them if they had a certain item and they went out of their way to search for it. Whether your merely browsing or looking for something specific, the people here are very friendly and helpful. A great store that carries a lot of power tools, household project items, and various other supplies.

I really hate going to Home Depot & Lowes because it’s so overwhelming. I had to get some wall anchors to hang stuff in my apt so I begrudgingly went to the local hardware store. I was so surprised how nice and organized BTVH was. It only took a few minutes to find what I needed and I was on my way back home. Everyone was helpful and very competitive in pricing.

This is a great place near me where I can grab supplies in a pinch– or when I am too lazy or busy to drive to a bigger store.
It is on the smaller side, so they don’t have everything a Big Box Hardware Store (like Home Depot, Loews) would have, but for the most part, they have a good selection.
Staff is super nice and helpful and will answer questions you have.

Perhaps my expectations are a little unfair, being an archaeologist and not a hardwarer, but their trowel selection leaves a lot to be desired. They have no trowels under 5.5 inches long, and no leaf trowels at all, and the staff– once I found a salesperson hiding in the back– didn’t even know what I meant by ‘leaf trowel’ when I asked if they had any. It’s a common term, I promise!

I probably drove by this place ninety-​eleven times before I even realized it was there. Really, you almost have to be looking for it to see it, and from El Camino Real it doesn’t seem like much. But when I went in I was pleasantly surprised at how big it is and how brightly it is lit.
There was a woman stationed at a desk right by the front door, and I wonder if that’s to deter shoplifting. She greeted me and told me where to find the wood glue that I been dispatched to purchase.
On my way to the glue department another staff member asked if he could help, and he refined the directions to the glue aisle, and I was soon choosing among several options.
I left with a positive attitude and a bottle of Elmer’s. I will be back next time I need any hardware-​type items. A ball-​peen hammer perhaps?

I’m a fan of giving honest reviews. I walked in with a project in hand (literally) and was not only offered no help but also delighted by hearing the folks behind the counter complain loudly about a worker that had not come in. I’ve worked in hardware stores before and both of these violate my primary rules of customer service.
Next time I’ll go to Home Depot where I know I’ll be ignored quietly until I ask rather than being ignored belligerently until i leave.

I’ve gone to these folks for the past 2 ½ years for my home repair and key duplicating needs.
Their prices are very reasonable and they’re super friendly. I’ve found some cool stuff here that I haven’t found elsewhere too, like some random kitchen gadgets. Their key making is really quick and cheap and they’ll even put the little rings on for you if you buy them (I’m terrible at putting those things on!)
They’ve almost always had what I needed, and since I don’t have a car, it was a lifesaver having them not too far away. I’m think that even though this is a branch of the True Value brand, it is family owned and operated, because I always see the same friendly people there. :)
People who complain about the «cleanliness»: dude. It’s a freaking hardware store, not a hospital!
