Ever see the scenario in a movie or show, where a guy goes into a joint a few minutes after breakfast time, and the cashier refuses to serve them? Well as stereotyped as that is, it happened to me here. I was excited to see some of the basic, awesome, old school diner items(including some unusual ones like kabobs) for really cheap. I hankered for a breakfast sandwich; bacon, cheese, egg, croissant., mmmmm breakfasty goodness. So I step up to the register and try and order one. The guy gives me a really stern look and coughs, «breakfast only» and looks the other way. Now I can understand if you’re a big chain, you’ve got a bunch of grab ass kids making ass and a half an hour, you probably need to establish some rules. If you’ve just taken over«Bueno Bueno» and are trying to drum up some business, it might be good to be at least social to your customers. Didn’t seem like they cared for me to be a customer at all. So I walked out. Maybe they have fantastic food for ultra cheap prices. Guess I’ll never know as there are too many other mom and pop style joints that produce a good product and are warm to their patrons, potential or not.

This place recently opened in place of buenobueno. It’s still in transition phase as it still has the décor of buenobueno down to the sign up above. What I can tell you is that this place has a decidedly diner feel to it already. If the food is any indication this place has some potential. Right now the menu is only featuring hot dogs, hamburgers and select sandwiches but as soon as next week they will be adding breakfast and dinner to the menu. Breakfast will feature pancakes, egg dishes and breakfast burritos. Dinner will have steak, chicken, ribs and chops on the menu. I will update you all if they make good on these promises. The hamburger I had reminded me of going to a friend’s house and having a good burger at a barbeque. I was a little disappointed in the pickles(sweet; there can be only one and that’s dill) and the fries(just nothing special). However, hot dogs seem to be the specialty. I am thinking that they can corner the bacon dog market in this area if informed. I think they serve beer too. Hmm…to be continued
