History
Established in 1987.
NOVA IVF was started in 1987 in San Mateo and later moved to Palo Alto. Dr. Schmidt became medical director in 1998 and has relocated NOVA IVF to Mountain View. He has moved with his embryologist, Fen-Chi DeFalco where they built a state-of-the art IVF laboratory. Fen-Chi joined NOVA IVF in 2002 and quickly filled the role as NOVA’s main embryologist. With her skill set, including micromanipulation and attention to detail, Fen-Chi is in an elite group of this country’s top embryologists. This talent along with modernization of the embryo transfer technique with the use of both transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound has furthered Dr. Schmidt and Fen-Chi’s progressive approach to fertility treatments elevating NOVA IVF success rates to be amongst the highest in the country.
