Best money spent during the wedding process — and this is coming from a couple that has strong project management backgrounds. Sophie totally went above and beyond our expectations. Such great insights… Especially with how to deal with Asian parents. She made our wedding … Simply perfect. Would highly recommend.

I hired Sophie for the month-of-coordination…and I’m very surprised to see her with 5-​star review on Unilocal.
I’ll list out the pros first:
1) She can speak Mandarin — this is very important for me and my husband because most of our family are not proficient with English.
2) She’s very good at marketing and has a very complete portfolio. I interviewed another wedding coordinator and Sophie totally won on selling her service.
3) Our wedding was smooth overall and Sophie and her team made sure everything went well.
However, honestly speaking, I’m disappointed with Sophie’s service for the following reasons.
1) Lake of communication — Most of time, I am totally out of loop and don’t know what’s going on. Things like I don’t know if the vendors have been contacted, when will the wedding schedule be finalized, or if she received my email my payments or things like that. A wedding co-​coordinator should be at least good at communication, but sadly, she does not do well on this part and does not meet my expectation at all.
2) Over-​promised on the deadline or timing. She rarely meet her promised deadline from the beginning starting from: she’s a week (or even longer) late on giving me the 1^st draft of the wedding day timeline (and it’s she decided the deadline not me), she did not show up on-​time for my rehearsal so it’s like me and my bridal party total 20 people waited there for 30 minutes… which no apology received, and she did not even check-​in with me first on my ACTUAL wedding day by the time we discussed. This is really NOT OK for a professional wedding coordinator.
3) Complaints from my other vendors, unfortunately, this is what I least want to see because it means that she does not do well on her job. My vendors contacted me one week before the wedding for my wedding-​day schedule. I was surprised to know that the finalized schedule had not been distributed to all my vendors at that point. (Like I mentioned, I usually had no idea what’s the progress of her job and Sophie rarely reported to me of what she had done) Moreover, she told me the vendor’s meal provided by the venue was the main course (i.e. the steak), which turned out to be salad only — even though I should check with the venue, but hey, why do I still have to do all the work while I already hired a wedding coordinator, not to mention that she gave me the wrong message — so I feel really sorry for my vendors for making them hungry… if I knew only salad will be provided, I could have prepared more food for them.
Frankly speaking, there’s still lots of room for her to improve on her job and hopefully, this will helps her doing better. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this vendor to my friends.

Sophie was our day-​of wedding coordinator — but she did so much more than just day-​of coordination and we couldn’t have done this without her. She had such a great mix of being totally on top of it and moving things along /​making sure everything was perfect without stressing anybody out. She also helped significantly with the planning the month before (not insignificant) — called out some gaps in our contracts and directly remedied it with the vendors — saving us money and issues with timing. She also just had some brilliant ideas on how to handle some things that really made a difference in experience and cost.
Also — I really wanted to write this due to the 2 star review below. Coincidentally, the person who provided the 2-​star review had her wedding at the same venue and the same day as I did (hers was morning, mine was evening) — and what this person may not realize is how incompetent the coordinator provided by the venue was, and all the behind the scenes work Sophie did to remedy issues that the other bride may not be aware of. The venue person completely messed up the reception setup, Sophie caught it, had to show them the contract and got them to re-​setup in enough time for no one to notice. The great thing was, I was blissfully unaware — we only found out all the extra work she did afterwards, and only after I really requested to know the details. Even the two-​star reviewer mentions how smoothly everything went at her wedding — which is no small feat!
Lastly, she was a pleasure to work with, especially coming from someone who has high standards on project planning and attention to detail, and also because I originally doubted the value of a coordinator. She was always very prompt with emails, and I always knew she had everything under control. I have no illusions that our wedding would have been a stressful day with things setup wrong /​costing more if not for Sophie: she was worth her weight in gold and it was a perfect day.

My wife and I had our wedding at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga and Sophie was amazing. Our wedding ended up being perfect but it certainly WOULD NOT have been perfect if it was not for Sophie.
Sophie was on-​top of everything and put together a very detailed day-​of plan. We worked with her to review /​update the plan and then make sure all of our vendors had the plan. She also did a detailed review of all of the vendor contracts + she also did a great job of asking us questions we had not thought to ask.
Most importantly, Sophie was perfect on the day of the wedding. All members of her team were very professional. They also caught a number of vendor /​venue mistakes and corrected them before we ever noticed. Lastly, she was flexible with the schedule. While we were visiting all of our guests, she was not pushy and let us take our time with our guests. I have seen other wedding coordinators start hustling the bride and groom from table to table and never thought that was cool. Sophie let us do our thing (it is our wedding after all) and then told us how we had to adjust the schedule once we were done talking with all of our guests. She then worked with the vendors to make sure they were all in line.
My wife and I both HIGHLY recommend Sophie. She did an excellent job both preparing for the wedding and the day of the wedding!

I recently DJ’d (3 – 16 Entertainment) a wedding with this company and couldn’t have been happier to work with them. The wedding was extremely organized and flowed very well. As a DJ it’s important to stay in the loop with vendors and communication between the coordinators was great. I would highly recommend them for your wedding. I hope to be able to work with them in the future.

I hired Sophie as my wedding coordinator and she managed to take care of everything for me. She prepared me to handle the busy day. When I mean busy… we had three different wedding ceremonies. She brought in 3 assistants to help out with the event. If you decide to have wedding events in more than one location, I would highly recommend getting a coordinator. It would be nearly impossible to stay on time with the schedule. I am sure that I would have fallen off of the schedule if i didn’t have someone watching the time throughout the entire day.
It would probably be a little easier to do without a coordinator if you are located in one setting the entire time. We were at the hotel, to the ceremony site, to reception.‘
There were certainly things that I wish did occur in the day however it would not be realistic to cram whatever I had into our schedule. It was expected that about 90% of the things I wanted would occur on that day and I would say that was pretty accurate. I am sure everyone else was stressed out around me but I was coasting throughout my wedding day worry free. Thats all that matters!

When we first got engaged in March of this year, we thought that we could do everything ourselves and that we didn’t need a coordinator. We met Sophie in May of this year when we were looking at another wedding at the hotel we were going to have our wedding reception at. After speaking to her for a minute, we decided that we needed to hire a month-​of and day-​of coordinator for our wedding. We really couldn’t do it all ourselves. Sophie actually wasn’t available for our wedding day, but Annie & Paula (2 other members of the Simply Perfect team) were. We just had our wedding on ⁹⁄₇ and I can say for sure that it wouldn’t have gone so well without Annie & Paula and the SP team. Annie & Paula did a great job helping us plan our wedding and coordinating everything on the day of the wedding. They are very organized and have a great attitude. They are also super sweet and patient. They willingly revised our wedding day timeline/​schedule MANY times until we were satisfied with it. They also assisted in designing/​making our wedding stationary, which turned out looking very nice. They even saved us a box of our dessert (macarons), the food, and top layer of the cake and brought it up to our room on the wedding night, since we didn’t have that much time to eat during the reception. Before the wedding, we were afraid that we had too many toasts & performances on our reception schedule, but Annie & Paula made sure that everything was on track on the wedding day. I would highly recommend Simply Perfect to any brides out there. Your wedding planning process and wedding day will be a lot less stressful with them around.

When we decided to get married in this year, I didn’t realize how much time consuming wedding planning was. We also had such a hard time finding the venue that can fit large guests count and also accept outside caters, and at that moment I realized that I needed help. I interviewed several coordinators and Sophie personality immediately impressed me during our initial consultation meeting.
I hired Sophie and Simply Perfect Wedding team for partial coordination. Sophie helped me find the venue that we loved. We met periodically during the planning stage to make sure that all the things that needed to get done were on tracked. She checked in with me in between meetings to make sure I was OK and if I needed any help. Sophie had all the answers that I asked. I felt like I gained a best friend and she helped my stress level to be minimum, and Iwas able to have my social life during the planning stage.
We didn’t spend countless hours online looking for vendors or interviewing potential vendors. We found all our vendors through Sophie referral list and they were all wonderful to work with, and we couldn’t have done it any other way.
On the day of the wedding day, Sophie and Simply Perfect Wedding team make sure that everything was going smoothly and they took care of any incidents happened on the day. They were knowledgeable, patient, nice and organize. Sophie and team even packed desert and dinner for bride and groom since we barely got a chance to eat during the reception. Sophie made sure that I was feeling well and hydrated on my wedding day.
All my friends and family are amazed and still raving about how pretty the venue and how well organize the wedding is. Everyone has nothing but a good thing to say about the wedding and we couldn’t have done this without Sophie help.

I’ve worked with many a wedding planner in my work as a photographer and Sophie does an excellent job. She did an excellent job decorating and organizing a wedding at Nestldown– a large and challenging venue to work. She is organized, kind and patient– especially on the actual event dates (which is where it really counts for client experience).

I couldn’t imagine not having Sophie as our wedding planner and day coordinator.
I had a full year to plan my wedding so I thought I’d be able to handle everything by myself and save some $$. Having a day coordinator that I can understand, but why need a planner?
Well, it doesn’t work that way! you can’t have a stranger who doesn’t know much about your wedding just jump into your wedding and expect her/​him to run the wedding smoothly.
We hired Sophie for the month-​of, but she has been started planning, organizing and having meetings with us since we booked her 5 months before the wedding! She has done so much more than we’ve expected!
Sophie worked closely with us and all our vendors and venue months before our wedding to make sure everyone knows our needs, and created a perfect timeline for the wedding day.
Our wedding went smoothly because of Sophie’s big help, it was so nice being able to enjoy and have fun at the wedding not worrying about anything else.
We’re so lucky to have Sophie as our wedding planner, she’s so professional, very responsive, and the big plus is she has great personality! I highly recommend Sophie to any bride-​to-​be or anyone who’s having a special event!

I am an «out-​of-​town» bride. My husband and I survived the 4-​year long distance relationship. And I finally made my mind to quit my job, leave all my friends and move to bay area from Chicago. Sophie is very flexible due to my limited schedule. (since that I can only fly to and stay at bay area one day or two each month before the wedding)
My parents and parents-​in-​law can only understand limited English. I cannot imagine how I can have a wedding with all vendors speaking Mandarin so easily without Sophie. And I love all my vendors.
The wedding day went flawlessly. And all my bridesmaids told me that they must have someone like Sophie for their weddings in Chicago or NYC.

With 1.5 year long engagement, we thought we would’ve been able to do everything ourselves. Until we realized… we couldn’t even narrow down a location!!! So, my husband suggested hiring a wedding planner. That was the smartest decision he made for our wedding! We interviewed a few wedding planners, but I automatically clicked with Sophie. I loved her personality and her no non-​sense attitude. I am definitely one of the more hands-​on brides. I like to be involved in my planning, designing, and selecting vendors. Sophie helped take care of things I was not so interested in handling. such as talking to certain vendors who I didn’t want to talk to. Or stopping me from changing the color for the 100^th time. :) She was most helpful the day of the wedding when things just seem to magically take care of itself. We couldn’t have been able to be as relaxed as we were on our wedding day if Sophie wasn’t there to do her magic. :) Thanks, Sophie!!!

The best money we spent for the wedding was hiring Simply Perfect– It’s Your Day! as our Day of Coordinator. Sophie is friendly, professional, efficient and experienced. The stress that most people encounter the day of their wedding was non-​existent for us since Sophie and her assistant Jenny took care of everything. They set up the reception and it turned out even better than we planned. She followed the timeline and kept the day flowing with no issues. She has an arsenal of items in her emergency kit so whatever happens, she’s ready for action. Sophie and Jenny also did the tear down and packed up everything in a fast and orderly manner. No detail was left to chance and everything really was Simply Perfect. They went above and beyond our expectations and let us enjoy our wedding day. We’ve gotten positive comments from our guests not only about Sophie but also the nice touches she added to the day that made people say «wow.». She has packages to fit every need and has a great attention to detail. She understood our vision and made it even better the day of. We highly recommend Simply Perfect and their services. We would use them again in a heartbeat! We could not have asked for a better Day of Coordinator.
