I usually don’t have a problem with Ulta stores but this location(Murfreesboro, TN) needs some help. I needed help finding a product, and could not find an employee to ask. After walking around the store 3 times I saw the employees were standing around in a group talking about the weather. I then asked for help finding a product that they carry, which seemed to annoy her that she had to leave her friend to assist a customer. I specifically came to this store because the product I would be purchasing came with a free beach cooler/bag. When I got to the counter they acted like they had never heard of it. I showed her the picture online and she said I guess we never got it sorry. Very disappointing. I could have just gone to target a few min away from me. Oh well… at least the employees are pretty. That’s about all though.

I prefer Sephora, but Ulta does sell some stuff that Sephora does not carry, so I do shop here quite a bit. I’m not a huge fan of the salon, but they do have a good selection of brands and products to choose from. One thing I do prefer about Ulta is that they offer coupons a lot more regularly than Sephora. I try to shop here during the week because lines can get crazy long on the weekends!

My daughter just left the hair salon and this place is horrid. Thanks for nothing you guys. Shameful. Established appointment at 11:45 and then waited 10 minutes… only to be told that my daughter would have to reschedule. Never again, Ulta. You guys suck! SUCK.

Never going back. Took 3 hours to dye my hair the same color I came in with. Asked for a refund and I proceeded to get glares from all the«stylists» and had to sit there for over an hour while they inspected my hair to see if it qualified for a refund…

Ulta in murfreesboro is having serious issues. Garland, the best stylist in the salon, is no longer there. Darlene. The wonderful Lancome lady, is no longer there. Melissa, another stylist, is no longer there. I just now found out that the lady I get my facials from is no longer there. I’ve had 3 facials from her. They didn’t bother to let me know she’s gone. I called to verify my appointment and they verified but with another facial lady. I cancelled. I’m done with this store. All this change is within the last few months. Something is wrong with management.

Extremely expensive. I could buy these products at my salon for half the price. Occasionally have decent deals!

I’ve been going to Stacy F. for 2 years to have my hair done and she is absolutely fabulous. Can’t recommend her enough! Some of the staff can come across as rude but I don’t really let it bother me since I know I can come across the same way sometimes without meaning to. HUGE product range from Smashbox to Maybelline to Redken to Organix! They also have great sales that I highly suggest you wait for! Well worth it in my book!

This review is for the salon. From the start it was a pleasant experience, with really nice and friendly staff. My stylist was Ashley Renee. I’ve gone to her twice now, and both times I think she did a really good job. She didn’t recommend high priced treatments or products, which most places I go to try and do. She’s also really nice and she was helpful. I’d definitely trust her to do my hair.

I’ve been shopping at Ulta for cosmetics and hair care essentials since they opened; I was there on day one. Suffice it to say Ulta is one of my favorite stores. Today, I visited the Salon for the first time and it was a really good experience for the most part. Ashley René was very well coiffed and I was impressed by her punctuality and appearance; several of her co-workers appeared to have rolled out of bed 2 minutes before walking in to work and had personalities to match. She had beach-wave, beautifully curled hombre blonde hair and spot-on make up – which is a feat considering she has a little one at home. Despite her best efforts to give me a «Tabitha Coffey» approved consultation, she had to excuse herself 3 times in order to wait on walk-in clientele and answer the phone. Management, you really need to hire a receptionist for this Salon. She listed attentively to what I wanted(which, by my own admission, was difficult to articulate), and after a lengthy discussion I opted for my roots to be touched up matching my existing 4N brown and she talked me in to a glaze with golden highlights. She said my hair would benefit from a dry cut, which had me worried a bit. When I walked out 2 hours later I had what I envisioned when I made the appointment: no gray, shiny, healthy-looking, long, brunette hair! I was out in the elements for many hours after, shopping, running errands and received several compliments. I made my 2nd appointment with Ashley in about 6 weeks and I couldn’t be more thrilled. As a side note: She was not over-pushing the product lines, which I was grateful for.

Ulta… how I wish you were much much closer. I keep imagining one day I’m going to get the news that one will be opening up at Nashville West(plenty of room!) or somewhere in the vicinity(Bellevue Mall anyone?). Ulta is pretty much Sephora’s less picky little sister. They have your more expensive brands, drugstore brands, and everything in between. Not to mention they frequently have coupons and actual sales. It makes one stop beauty shopping very easy. The only real problem is that even though it is very well organized it can be overwhelming. That and it can potentially make your boyfriend/husband/significant other cry for mercy and beg to go nowhere near there so they don’t have to be stuck there for hours while you try to find that«just one item» you ran in there for(Sorry, Greg!). I really do love Ulta, but I think my wallet continues to thank me for them being a comfortable distance away.

They are pretty good in carry a variety of makeup products, but not high end makeup products like Mac. But I stop by every now and then to browse what they have on sale or any new arrivals. Their are 2 things that bother me: 1. clueless sales people and 2. Their products are usually hire than others. I was about to purchase some Benefit skincare products and needed to ask a question. His answer was completely clueless. I know this because I had already researched the product online and the reviews and description did not match what he told me. I ended up not buying any Benefit products. I saw a 1−½ Hot Tools Curling Iron at Ulta and wanted it badly. I decided to wait and save a little more money since their price was pretty high — 54.99 i believe. Then I saw on overstock, for the exact same product, it was only $ 31.99. I’m glad I didn’t spend more than I should have. Other than that, I do like the store and their products are somewhat affordable.

Where I go for my cosmetic needs! They carry just about the same upscale brands as Sephora. I love playing in the store, like a little girl. lol

A pretty good Ulta as far as the variety of products, organization of the store and sales that are run here. I haven’t ever used the salon, so I can’t speak to that part. I will say that I shop here about once every one to two months to stock up on my usual hair products(about $ 50 a trip), and there is only ONE employee I would identify as being pleasant, and I believe she is one of the managers. The rest of them seem like sorority bunnies with a chip on their shoulders. Maybe they’re pissed because I never accept their offer of THREEFREEISSUES! of InStyle Magazine, maybe they’re freaked out because I don’t wear makeup and I bite my nails. Who knows, but they can’t seem to crack a smile or speak without spitting their words. Fortunately the attitude is the only thing keeping this otherwise great establishment at three stars, so if you can easily brush off bitchiness you won’t find a better place to buy your hair supplies.

The second Ulta to open in Tennessee, and a welcome addition to the new shopping coming to the Middle Tennessee area. This review is only for the store, I have not tried out the hair salon. This is also only for this particular Ulta, and from a male shopping there. Ulta is somewhat less exclusive than Sephora in their product offering, but still carries many of the same upperscale brands though with fewer items from the upperscale lines. If you are shopping for the complete offering of some of these lines you may have to visit Sephora or the Cosmetic Market, though for the basic popular items Ulta probably has them. Ulta does have a GREAT variety and range of products though from upperscale to the more typical brands carried in many hair salons. Ulta carries all sorts of items for men, and women. The store has a great range of perfumes, and colognes. Some are overpriced as compared to other retailers, and others are comparable or even better priced. I was surprised to find most of the lines for men that Sephora carries, though the more rarer items from some lines were not carried. Ulta is a welcome addition overall to the shopping options available in The Avenue at Murfreesboro, and most people shopping there will probably be very pleased with what you can find there. I plan to pick a few things up there myself.
