Burger Boys of Murphy

We love coming to Murphy for vacation and each year, we make a stop at Burger Boy. The burgers are awesome. Fresh made. Varied (from normal to the pizza burger). Tasty. Affordable.
The fried mushrooms are fresh, hand made as well.

They have the worst burgers I have ever eaten. I wanted to vomit my burger was still bleeding all over my bun and made it soggy and gross. Unacceptable. The staff was extremely rude and did not care about anything I wanted. All they cared about was their shifts ending and getting my money!

Decided to try out burger boys after reading multiple reviews about the quality of the food there. Once I arrived and was ready to order the man came over to find out what we wanted to order. I noticed right away that he kept his gloves on while writing our order down. He took my card, started scratching his face (with the gloves on still), then after he proceeded to go and finish making the food he was working on. While waiting I looked into the kitchen area to reassure myself that maybe the gloves were an honest mistake and he forgot. The kitchen was filthy, it looked like it has never been cleaned. I noticed in between the burgers he was making he decided to pick up some lettuce and put it in his mouth (again same gloves). After sitting down, the table definitely needed to be cleaned but with only two people there and both cooking, i suppose they just didn’t have the time to clean the dining area. I went ahead and ate here even after seeing the disgusting place and the employee not changing gloves based on the fact there was a good amount of people in the restaurant that seemed like it was nothing unusual. After getting the food it tasted great. It’s a shame that they can make food that taste so incredible but ruined it by being filthy. I will not return based on the filth of the entire restaurant alone, no matter how great the food actually was.

Alright, I gave this a shot and I got one of the best burgers which I have ever eaten at this place or ANYWHERE.
I asked for a Double-​Double Animal Style.

Well Animal Style burgers and Fries are one of my favorites when I am traveling out west.
I showed Amanda a picture and told her the ingredients and a few minutes later I received a wonderful burger!

Yummy mushroom and Swiss burger and seasoned fries. :) Staff was very friendly. Quick service.

Very good burgers, seasoned fries are awesome. Nice little place to grab a bite. Will definitely keep coming back.

We were in town on vacation and decided to stop in and give it a try. WOW, the fried mushrooms were worth the stop and the burgers, fries and onion rings were really good too. Glad we stopped in and next year we’ll do it again!

Excellent burgers but if you order the Double Burger just know that you are getting a full half pound of beef. You will most definately not be hungry when you leave. Service was great. Best burger I have had in a very long time. Order the mozzarella stocks.

Best burger I have had in a long time from a restaurant. And only 7 bucks for burger fries and a drink. Hand patted real burgers a must if you are in town and want a burger !!!

Had the burger special with fries, and added bacon to the burger. For the price, this was great! 2 meals with drink for 13.98. The burger was good, prepared well, juicy and large. Nothing fancy, just a regular good olé burger. Will come back next time we are passing through.

Just finished eating here for the first time. The burger was good. Not great, but good. However, the woman at the counter was as friendly as a rock and I’m not sure anyone cleans tables. Needless to say, there are plenty of better places to eat in Murphy!

Well worth seeking out. Just off the downtown area of Murphy. This has to be the best burger in Cherokee County. Opted for the Big Boy which I think I have seen described as their version of the Big Mac. Wrong! The clown never made any thing like this. It’s more like what you would get if that other Big Boy had done steroids. 2 generous fresh ground pattys dressed with a fresh garden and a little thousand island dressing. Came with fries and a drink. Opted for the seasoned fries and the fresh brewed tea. Yummie! The two of us dined well for $ 16.

Burger places are a dime a dozen. This one is slightly above average. Nothing was extraordinary. All was above par. But there were a limited number of different styles of burger and they weren’t very imaginative. Everything came out pretty quick and tasted fresh.
That being said, the prices are phenomenal. That’s really where they shine. We got two burgers and split a side of tater tots. When it came time to pay the lady said it was 9 dollars and change. I stopped her and said she rang something up wrong. But she didn’t. That was the actual price. I was shocked and amazed.
Definitely worth the price, and definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

I am always in search for a great burger!!! We found it! Great burger… great staff!!! Don’t pass this place up! You know the are good when they hand pat the burgers by hand .You know it’s great when you see the locals eating here!

Unfortunately we’ve hit a few speed bumps with our favorite burger place. Strike 1 was getting the wrong order, and a woman at a table a ways from us waved and called out that she got ours, since she was happily eating my order, I ate hers but was not happy. Strike 2, again the order was wrong, they young lady taking the orders must have been new and my medium rare was very well done but I gave her a pass. Strike 3, the burgers are getting smaller. Last week, not medium rare and considerably smaller than before. It was still yummy so I will go back again, but if the small burger wasn’t a fluke, I will be disappointed. Stay tuned.
Update: Still my #1 fav burger joint in Murphy, despite a few minor issues referenced above, I’ve never been disappointed with the burgers which are to die for. 2 big thumbs up. Back to 5 stars.

My husband talked me into going here. I thought to myself it was just going to be ordinary «diner food» but it was much better than ordinary diner food.
Portion sizes were much to big for me but I’m sure that would not be a complaint for most people.
The people who work here are so friendly. The place was very clean.
Give them a try. I doubt you’ll regret it.

Great burgers, made to order from fresh ground beef. We ordered the bacon bleu burger, the mushroom swiss burger and a plain cheeseburger and all three were excellent. They have lots of other burgers to choose from as well as hotdogs, chicken, BBQ, Polish sausage and other assorted goodies. We also had tater tots and fried mushrooms to go with our burgers and they were great as well. Our family stopped by here for lunch on the way from Atlanta to Asheville and we liked it so much we made a return visit on our way back home. I recommend asking them to toast your hamburger bun when ordering.

So you’d think a dinky little burger joint in a dinky little town would have the typical ‘eh’ its ok burgers… WRONG!@#$% Burger Boys Burgers are BURGREATNESS! (yeah I went there) After reading the stellar 5 star reviews I was thinking no way could that burger joint have that good of a burger, but I became a believer today, wow!
I picked up a Bacon Blue Burger, a Cheeseburger, and a grilled Cheese for the kiddo. Hands down my Bacon Blue was the winner! But the Cheeseburger would have been amazing had I not ordered that Blue. Grilled Cheese was on par with what you’d usually get, ya know there is not much you can do to a grilled cheese to make it spectacular. Oh and you can pick from a bunch of different fries: regular, seasoned, matchstick, sweet potato, and tater tots (technically I think that’s not a fry but whatever). Anyway this joint is the real deal. The menu is just like you’d see and an old burger joint with the plastic letters on the white background plastic coca-​cola signs. The dining room is clean and big enough for a lunch crowd but nothing special. But that’s not why you go, its the BURGERS THAT DRAW YOU IN!
Oh and in the summer across the street is the Sweet Tooth (ice cream) so this is perfect for a cheap date night. Remember people this place is BURGREATNESS!

The place is nothing to look at but it is very clean, quiet and the staff is both friendly and helpful.
I ordered the chicken philly, my wife ordered the steak philly, and my daughter ordered a hamburger. Everything was cooked to order so the food is very fresh. The chicken philly was tender and very tasty. My wife loved her philly too. My daughter ate up all her hamburger quickly and said it was «supreme». Whatever that means, she liked it and I suppose that is a high mark from a 6 year old.
I read the other reviews and tried the fried mushrooms. They were wonderful. You definitely have to try them. Lightly breaded and generously sized. My favorite. But everything was quickly prepared, and delicious!
